After several failed attempts to find affordable and decent Mexican food in Bellingham, Taqueria answered my prayers to the taco Gods and delivered cheap prices; authenticity, great flavor and friendly service all in one. Their Tostada’s are second to none. Crispy and delicious shells packed with some of the best Carne Asada I’ve ever had,(that includes my trips to San Diego and Tijuana), superb and fresh Pico De Gallo, spicy/flavorful Verde Sauce, topped with a squeeze of lime. oh sweet Jesus. It’s a very easy to miss location, kind of shimmied in a parking lot adjacent to other businesses’s but it is very worthwhile food and friendly service. The one sort of maybe gripe is EVERY time I go there, there’s a table full of cholo’s in South Pole Jorts eyeing me down and whispering to each other as they laugh and point at me… odd… but whatever. Still a great place to get your taco fix. Highly recommended!

Good food at such a fair price. Our first time there and will definitely go back for real Mexican food, not the stuff passing for authentic in most places around Bellingham.

There’s very little I can add to all of these numerous positive reviews. They serve taco truck food in a fast-food restaurant setting. So, good food but you don’t have to pay much(e.g., $ 1.50 tacos, $ 2.00 sopitos, $ 4.99 burritos). I’ve only been to Mexico once, but I think their food is authentic. I see a lot of Spanish speaking customers there, which is an indication of authenticity. Also, their choices of meat make me think that they make authentic food: tongue, cheek, and pig stomach as well as «regular» beef, pork, and chicken. When you are hungry and want good quick Mexican, I think this is the place. There’s one(and only one) negative review on this restaurant(so far), but I have to say most of her complaints come from her unrealistic expectations. Yes, they do use paper plates and plastic utensils. So what? That’s what all fast food restaurants do. ****************************** If you found something useful in my review, please hit«useful» so that I can improve my reviews. Thank you and happy Unilocaling!

Very good authentic Mexican food. Just like they serve in Mexico. So good. I had three tacos and they were delicious.

Best and authentic, love everything but highly recommend tostada de pollo; my favorite. Try everything and you will find all is excellent.

The carne asada burritos are amazeballs, along with the green sauce. This is the only good Mexican place we’ve been happy with since moving to Bellingham, and we’ve tried a lot. I’m a native Texan, so you can trust my opinion.

I’m a tough critic but this place is amazing. I’ve been here twice the fist time I ordered the burrito, the second time I got the taco. Both were delightful but the tacos are like a little Minnie orgasm in your mouth. This is my new go to place. Hells ya!

Delicious food, good atmosphere, great service! I had the Pork Sopes and I was definitely craving more so I ordered Pork Tacos and they were equally delicious! The seating situation was a little to crowded but the food made up for it and asides from the food, they also sold Mexican candy. Will definitely be coming back to try the Torta next time ;p

Food was very good, and staff were very friendly and helpful and responsive. Note, though that the TV(tuned to a fight when I was there) was a bit loud. If that is an issue just get take out.

Excellent! I’m from Texas and have been traveling a few months. This is definitely the best Taqueria I’ve found since leaving Texas! Great food at great prices, give it a shot!

Almost as good as mama makes it, service was quick. Great taco place atmosphere(relaxed, mexican music tv,) I will be back for more lunchtimes. It’s nice to find a taco place that’s not a truck and not far away. There is a nice mexican candy and soda selection in front as well. If you want some quick mexican food, just get over there!

We have tried a bunch of Mexican places in the area during our drives to or through Bellingham, and this is by far our favourite. Both the chicken and beef tacos are fabulous — really flavourful, well-seasoned meat. This is our new favourite stop!

This place is superb! Really reliable and cheap Mexican food. I’m not talking about Mexican-American food on overheated plates with bad beans and tasteless rice. The food here is real Mexican food… delicate small tacos, tostadas, tortas(sandwiches), quesadillas, and other simple fare. Nothing fancy here, just paper plates and good workingman’s street food. Lots of Hispanic customers who know good Latin food. Great value and great food. I am in the area often enough that I have to ration my trips here or I would eat here all the time!

The food was ok. The torta bread was soft… the filling could use a bit more seasoning. The tamale and taco was ok. The rice and beans was good. Nothing exciting.

Had the chicken mulita, which I would highly recommend. This place seems pretty authentic, tons of Mexican people in here!

Went here for lunch after all the five star reviews and was seriously disappointed. My boyfriend and I both had carne asada, and we agree that it was the worst we had ever had. First I get that its also a taco truck, but at a sit down location chips and salsa would be nice. Second, we were served on paper plates with plastic utensils. deal breaker? No. But still odd. But the food left so much to be desired. The rice was sticky and had absolutely no flavor, the beans were salty, which could all be looked past if the steak was any good… And it was TERRIBLE. No flavor, overcooked, it was awful. The one positive at this place? Their tortillas were excellent. And the continue searches for a half decent Mexican place in Bellingham…

Taqueria Tecalitlan features all of the amazing tacos, burritos, quesadillas, etc. from their food truck, but with the convenience of an indoor location with seating. Amazingly, the prices are the same as at the food truck, despite the likely increased overhead of having a «brick and mortar» location. You can eat here, and eat well, for well under $ 10/person — really for closer to $ 5 – 6 per person, depending how hungry you are. They also offer some higher cost entrees like carnitas for $ 9.99. No matter what I’ve tried there, it’s always fast and delicious. They offer a variety of meat options, from the usual chicken and beef to more exciting things like tongue and cheek, or you can go veggie if you don’t want meat. And, for just $ 2, be sure to add one of their yummy tamales to your order — they are available in pork and chicken. Each table at TT has giant bottles of their deliciously addictive red and green sauces, too. This is also a great place to bring kids as the table seating is more manageable than trying to eat standing next to a food truck(or, worse, in your car). They do offer a drive-up window(and to-go menus) if you’re in a hurry. Now if only they would offer some cervezas to go along with their yummy food! They do offer a good selection of juice and soda, though, including that wonderful«Mexican Coca Cola» in the small bottle… made with real sugar and soooo good. This place may be a little hard to find(it’s tucked in behind Jack Niemann’s and Niener Niener Weiner off of Barkley Blvd) but it’s worth the effort.
