All their food is delicious. I’m obsessed with the taco salad! Try their Skinny Margarita big mama too! I’ve also had their new brunch on weekends and it’s amazing!

I had wonderful service here at lunch(Maria rocks) and an incredible vegetarian tostada. It included squash, zucchini and sautéed onions. Delicious. The location near marina pales in comparison as far as service goes.

The only good thing about this restaurant is the margaritas at happy hour. Their food is expensive and not that great. Today my husband and I ordered tortilla soup. Flavor was ok ish it was super super salty. I ordered a cup for 6.99 and he ordered a bowl for 8.99. Mine had a teeny bit more chicken than his and mine was a cup. There is NOTHING to speak of in this soup but sauce which was a lot like enchilada sauce with about 2 tbs of chicken maybe, about 3 strips of tortilla, and the absolute only difference between the bowl and cup was a little more«sauce» which was really disappointing and expensive for sauce with a little bite of chicken to say the least. Go here to drink. Eat somewhere else.

I was having a great night with my friend listening to karaōke. Until the bar tender cut me off after three drinks because apparently I was drinking them«to fast.» I thought it was a joke. But no she was serious. Terrible service. This specific bar tender treats her customers like crap. One star.

Ive gone to Jalapenos since I was a kid with my dad and knew the owner when I was young. We always have a great time and the staff is extremely kind. Also they are always clean and the food is super fresh!

Tasty, kid– friendly place with good menu and dedicated staff. We come to Jalapeños about once a week, for their happy hour drinks and snacks. Our daughter loves their fresh chips and salsa, fluffy rice and coloring set. You truly feel welcomed and remembered.

Be careful when ordering drinks. I ordered a skinny margarita, meaning lower calorie margarita. I was charged 17 dollars the most expensive margarita. Same owner as Luna’s. At Luna’s my friend ordered the house Chardonnay and was charged for the most expensive glass of Chardonnay.

A favorite of mine, that I love going to! Starting any dinner with a big mama is the way to go, one of my very favorite drinks in Bellingham. All the menu options and cooked perfectly and delivered quickly. The staff are some of the nicest in Bellingham, and always remember me and greet by name.

This a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant that serves typical TexMex food. Wait staff is friendly and will seat you promptly. You can select outdoor patio seating on wrought iron chairs, stools at the bar, or booths or tables for larger parties. Free chips and salsa are delivered to your table along with your drink order. Food is always served piping hot, on plates as big as a sombrero. Combos come with rice and beans, but even ordering ala carte, you will probably need a doggie bag. Free street parking is available on both sides of the restaurant. If you come when its busy at the lunch hour or on weekend nights, there is always plenty of parking at Haggens next door. I’ve been to this location several times for both lunch and dinner. The food is decent for the PNW. The service is always friendly. The margaritas have a kick, and the price is reasonable considering the amount of food you get.

Overall this is a decent place for a quick and basic lunch in the Barkley district. The lunch specials are a decent value and the food is served quick but also fresh. The chips and salsa are provided upon seating and are top quality. The ice water is served without ice which is odd. The service is personable and servers are attentive. This is not five star dining by any means but is a step down from traditional sit down dinning and a step up from a place like Chipotle. All in all though a decent value and a place I would return again.

From beginning to end, my experience at Jalapeño’s was disappointing, to say the least. We were seated quickly but then ignored. No water or chips and salsa. Eventually a waitress made her way over. We noticed right away that the prices were high. Our hopes were equally high, only to be dashed. We ordered and waited. People who arrived after us were receivibg their food. All that free time led us to looking around. We noticed that the very high ceiling fans were literally coated with dust and grime. At some point in time those fans were white but were now gray and black. I will attempt to post the picture I took. The framework for the lighting was also disgusting. I think there was dust from the 80’s up there. The food was bland… nothing special. It was hard to have any appetite after the dusty discovery hovering above us. I shudder to think what the kitchen looks like. Never going back!

We came in late in the evening and there were very few people there, yet our service was poor. We waited a very long time for water after having to ask for refills. Then our order was incorrect 3 different times. I don’t think the waitress listened or well. She was friendly though. The first thing I noticed was the prices have gone up drastically in the last 6 months or so. A fajita salad used to be $ 13.99, and now is $ 17.99!!! My taco salad was disappointing due to the fact that it was mostly rice and beans with very little lettuce or chicken. Overall, disappointing and overpriced.

First time eating here, and the service was great even while it was busy. Will be definitely eating here again. Very family oriented as well.

Just a horrible value and horrible food. Way over priced. Had the El Colarado burrito. I have had this at the down town location several times. Its my go to item for the rare occasions I end up eating there. I have had this burrito about five times over the last few years. The first time was amazing! It was packed full of steak that was super tender and a perfect balance of carrots, cabbage, onions, peppers and mushrooms.(this was way back when they did not have the Barkley or fairhaven location). Well how times have changed. This burrito gets worse and worse and I can honestly say I will not give them another chance to charge me 15 bucks for this thing. Me and my buddy went there the other day as he felt like Mexican food. I once again ordered the el Colorado burrito. When the waiter brought it, I though I was in for a treat! Unfortunately the burrito had only 4, and yes I counted them, 4 pieces of steak inside. Mind you, this burrito is about 13 inches long! I found no mushrooms and it was basically packed full of onions and cabbage.(two of the cheapest ingredients). The only thing I like about this place is the big mamma margarita but only on happy hour as regular price is like 9 bucks! I mean 9 dollars for a good quality tequilla margarita is one thing but not for bottom shelf stuff. I do love the big mamma though and paying for something you like is ok. I can honestly say though, I really would only go to this restaurant to drink. I have had other dishes there and frankly its just overpriced for high mediocre food. The El Colorado burrito however is not mediocre: it is just entirely a rip off! LIke I already stated, I would not go back to eat but only to drink. If I did go back, I would go to the downtown location for at least you have a patio with a view.

Oh dear… where to start. Well, I’ve definitely been to worse restaurants but Jalapeño’s is certainly a place in which I have no intention of ever going back. Their service runs like a drunken game of musical chairs;(which is probably fun at home but not when I’m hungry) their food is way over-priced for what I received and people that came in after me were being served first. I can get passed all that if the food is good, in which… it wasn’t. My Chili Relleno resembled more of over cooked spinach with melted cheese than any Chili Relleno I ever remember having. If my really sub-par food came with a cheaper price, then I would rate this place average but the absolutely ridiculous pricing of their entrée’s and drinks should demand at least a little better quality. Not really much to say about the place, their servers were nice and the chips/salsa were better than a lot of other Mexican restaurants. But… that’s really all I can give them credit for. I recommend passing this place up.

We’ve ways had great food here and good service. The staff are incredibly attentive and nice to our daughter. We’ve always found the food to be very consistent. Quite frankly surprised by all the negative reviews on here. We’ve only ever had positive experiences.

Went for lunch today. Ordered a lunch special… hard shell corn taco with ground beef and chicken enchilada… the sides were refried beans and spanish rice. Waited about 15 minutes for my order to arrive. The refried beans were kind of runny with no flavor and the spanish rice was just bland. My chicken enchilada was hard packed with chicken that seemed to be all white meat… like from a can? My taco was probably the highlight of my meal and actually tasted pretty authentic with minimal seasoning and a good beef flavor coming through. I’d go here again but only for a basic taco.

No waiting on a weekday during the dinner hour although we were too late for happy hour. Good fish tacos – grilled not fried. And the side of beans and rice were especially good. Skip the chips! When I said we were going to a movie the waitress volunteered that next time I should tell her and the order would come out even faster but it was already prompt. Try them if you are in the neighborhood …
