No one likes being at the DMV. No offense to those who work here, just something to do to stay legal

Anyone who enjoys going to the DMV is a crazy person. There’s usually endless waits, unhappy workers, deep sighs and light snoring from the person (s) next to you.
Not the case. Thank and You.
I came in on a dreary afternoon, fully anticipating a lunch-​time rush, people who had been waiting for hours for testing or whatever else and was pleasantly surprised to find a handful of people waiting. The longest wait time was mere minutes.
Upon walking in, cruise over to the Greeter Desk and someone will print out a number for you. Gone are the days of pulling a number and waiting for everyone else to go in chronological order. Not here, you are separated according to your reason for being there.
Something you might not know, or maybe it’s just having a dumb moment, but if you have previously lived in the state your information stays in the system. For how long, I have no idea, but I was out of WA for 6 years and only had to do a quick eye test and the rest of my history popped up. This curbed time dramatically. When my number was called, all I had to do was update the local address and sign the license documentation. Easy peasy. Check the website for the fees.
Now when you get to the photo part… be prepared to smile within seconds of standing on that little blue line. Your name is called and literally a second later your picture is taken. Hardly any warning so get ready for it.
Not a bad experience with the DMV, from parking to leaving it was only 20 minutes.
