We came in for a dinner on a Tuesday evening and it was dead. We were the only table there while we ate. It was actually really relaxing. The place is really small. Comfortable for 2 or 4. Super personal. We ordered Kani Salads which were delicious and a must try. They’re deliciously spicy and unlike some places that over serve the cucumber; this chef makes sure you get your crab worth. The special rolls range anywhere from $ 13-$ 15. Normal. We ordered the Salmon Bombo, the Train Wreck, peppered tuna roll, spicy crab and spicy tuna. The Salmon Bombo is served hot and is absolutely delicious; the roll just melts in your mouth. The Train Wreck is cold and topped with avocado. Very good. The regular rolls are all good too. The pepper tuna is okay I’m not sure if I would try it again. Once we were done the waitress came over with green tea ice cream on the house. That was really nice. Delicious as well. I can see there not busy being that there’s so many«big» sushi restaurants on Merrick Rd. But they’re really nice and the service is quick and personable. This is a great place for a quiet dinner away from the chain sushi places.

10 rolls $ 38 how can you beat it. That’s the special I recommend It is a good place to grab some quick sushi. The fish is fresh the people are friendly. The place is a little small but it’s good for take out our to eat in for 2 or 4. A large group might be cramped.

Very cute, cozy, atmosphere. Sushi is perhaps the best I’ve ever had. Plus everyone that works there is extremely friendly, attentive, and provides excellent service. I totally recommend this spot for either takeout or if you’d like a casual, cute sushi bar to dine in.

Damn, you know when you go to place, where the young entrepreneurs have put their heart and soul into opening a small restaurant… maybe recent immigrants fulfilling the American dream. And with all your heart you want them to succeed. Well this is the place. The owners are so sweet and accommodating… BUT…yeah unfortunately the big BUT. The sushi needs to step it up to 4 star territory. I guess I’m a Sushi snob, but the rolls where pretty much all the same taste, the Tamago(egg omelet sushi) was very bland, salmon skin hand rolls was solid. Mr. Sushi was so sweet provided some rolls for free… Mr. Sushi I wish you the best of luck…

Just found my new neighboor hood sushi joint! Great little spot tucked in the back of a quiet shopping center off Merrick Rd., I must have driven passed this place a million times since it opened six months ago and never noticed it. Glad I finally did! Checked it out for the first time yesterday. Everything was exceptional. Super clean. Super fresh. Super friendly. Good variety of rolls, apps and cooked entrees. Decent prices. While we were there they seemed to take a lot of take-out orders(free delivery) which is good to see. They’ve only been there six months and I hope they continue to do well and stay. I am sure I will become a regular here.

I came here thinking I was going to the previous establishment(which was great), only to see that the place has flipped to new ownership. No biggee, figured we give them a try — it’s still a sushi place, right? The place started off strong, the Kani salad had great spice to it. Very different than your typical Kani salad. It’s a simple dish, served the same in most places, this was a delicious surprise. The wine pours were substantial — always a good thing. It’s what you want to see in a place like this. If you’re charging $ 6.50 a glass for bottom of the barrel, fill it up. And they did(although I’m not sure where it was being filled and by who), so it was very fair. They didn’t have fatty tuna available, but that’s OK, we easily made due. We had three rolls, the Dynamite, white tuna jalapeño and winter. I would rate them in that order, but both the Dynamite and white tuna jalapeño were fantastic, exactly what we hoped for. We would never come here again, but if we did, and you are planning to, pair the Dynamite with the tuna jalapeño — both spicy in different ways. The Winter didn’t taste right to me, one of the more unpleasant rolls I’ve had in a while — but it could just be a preference thing. So at the time we wrapped up our meal, this place was looking like a solid 4 stars from someone who has rated 140 places, unlike some of the curious one off reviews posted to date(read the five stars reviews, very questionable in my opinion) — so how did they drop to 2? The service. The service was acceptable until the end, when the young lady disappeared. Completely disappeared to go to the back — I assume to start closing up. After 20+ minutes of us sitting there, I had to give the credit card to the sushi chef. She was notified and came out at that point, immediately asked if we wanted dessert. If she reads this she’ll remember the answer, which was«yes, 20 minutes ago». I’m tired of having to make excuses for the stupidity of some of the service these days — I’m to a point where if you’re going sit there and text/e-mail away as we eat, I’ll deal with it because it’s become so rampant on Long Island. But the disappearing act doesn’t fly. We were the only table in there, and we were seated before 8PM. Only saw one take out order while we were there, so it wasn’t that. C’mon folks, there is only one table there on a Thursday night, and to top it off how often does a table for two walk in to your establishment and have as much wine with their dinner as we did? Just about half our bill was alcohol — those are your biggest margins. You cost yourself a couple of desserts and at least another two glasses of wine, more likely four, and tip on top of those extra items. That could have easily been another 50% added to our check. So tired of people not hustling, and then wondering why their restaurant is failing. We are within walking distance of both Kanda and Sapporo, with this the closest and right in the middle. We are regulars at both other establishments, with superior options in all facets there is no reason to even consider this place again.

So pleasantly surprised by this new neighborhood sushi restaurant. The sushi was delicious and fresh and the owners are very kind and accommodating. They didn’t have gluten free soy sauce but said that they would cook with mine that I brought if I wanted hibachi. Hopefully they will invest in a bottle to have for other GF customers. I will definitely be back.
