Love the drinks and the scenery! The ordering of food can get a bit confusing but I don’t plan on ordering any more food any way due to the fact my friends and I all got very sick after eating one night. We couldn’t even drive back home.

Nice spot, came here on a Thursday right after summer season. Wasn’t crowded but still a decent amount of people there. I like how you order food at the register and they bring it to you, more laid back. Limited food menu now, had the guajillo chicken sandwhich which was pretty solid. Didn’t have olive juice, was craving a dirty martini… Will have to come back in summer time.

I’m not sure I even understand how the system in this restaurant works. You walk in, and have to find your own table. It’s so crowded that you literally have to stalk other tables and wait on top of them until they leave. After beating ten other people to an opening table, we sat down. But the table is still dirty because they literally just got up. So now we are siting at a dirty table for at least 15 minutes. Every two minutes someone comes over and asks if they can have a chair… Annoying. We order drinks. My wine came over, all 3 ounces of it in a plastic cup. Fine. The other mixed drink was so bad it gave my sister goosebumps. We try to order food from the waitress but she tells us that we have to go over to the food stand and order and pay for it. We don’t have to wait for it because a server will bring it over. Why? Are we on the boardwalk? This concept amazes me. The chef who is preparing the food has a long beard and long hair. He is not wearing a hair net. He is touching everything and then preparing the food in front of everyone!!! He is not wearing gloves. Seriously disgusting! Our food arrives. I ordered a chicken quesadilla. It came with horseradish instead of sour cream. I guess it looks the same. Idk. The French fries were stale and tasteless. The drinks and food were just bad. The atmosphere is beautiful but could be so much more enjoyable with good food.

Love the location of 9th Ave Pier. Views are great and the bar service is pretty good. Food is okay for bar fare but you have to go order and pay for it yourself. They deliver it to you when it’s done. The burgers are very good and the raw bar is good too. One of my favorite summer places.

Fun location to enjoy happy hour down the shore. Beautiful bar/restaurant on a pier in the harbor of Belmar. The view you get while sipping on a cocktail is totally worth everything about this place. Brittany, the bartender, is thebombdotcom. She was so much fun and made the best cocktails! This location needs some«work» hence why they only get 4 vs 5 stars. The place is seat yourself, so on a crowded, gorgeous, summer day, it could be nearly impossible to find a table with chairs to sit in. We went on a Sunday night and were able to find a table with no chairs, so we stood and then got chairs as people left. Even when you ask for chairs, the waitresses explain this is all the have and there is nothing they can do to help. It is truly first come, first serve. Next, the waitress-ing is a little strange. Waitresses only get you drinks and then for food you have to basically walk back to the entrance of the bar, place your order & pay, and then someone brings it out to you. This is a long pier so if you are on one end(like we were) you have to walk through the entire pier which is normally crowded to place an order to walk back. It is an easy concept but I don’t really see the point. The most frustrating part is making your way through the crowd to get there. Not to mention, the food is not anything spectacular. I recommend the oysters and clams on the half shell because they are fresh and delicious. Everything we had that was cooked was EH. You pay for the location and view at this place which I highly recommend. It was a great happy hour place but no where I would go back for food. Also it gets chilly at night so bring a jacket!

Great spot to grab some drinks and a bite to eat while down the shore. The entire bar is outside, and on the water so the views are beautiful. There are also a ton of flat screen tvs that have games on. The drinks here are on the weaker side, but the food is very fresh and there are a lot of options. The weird thing though is that you order your food from the kitchen, but then sit and order your drinks from a waitress. The two orders can not be made simultaneously. You also have to drive to the location — no running in from the beach for a quick bite.

Wasted so much money here. The food was edible but not worth the money at all. I tried my boyfriends margarita and it tasted like sweat. Everyone I was with was disappointed. One good thing is the waitress we had was very accommodating and went above and beyond!

Went here with a few friends for some drinks and a light dinner. The atmosphere is probably the best part, just beware it can get wicked crowded at times. Seating is definitely scarce but if you hang out long enough you can get a table. The bucket drinks are good and the food isn’t bad either. For a place that has to pump out hundreds(maybe thousands) of plates a day the quality is above what you would expect — a couple grades past«fast food». I don’t know how the servers keep track of everything given the volume of people each one has to serve. I would come back here but I would prefer to go when it’s not so packed.

This place is all about the view. The atmosphere is great and the service was very good. We only got apps, calamari(very good) and chips and dip(convenient for drinking). It was extremely crowded but that didn’t take away from the fast service.

This place is super cute. Like everyone said, you are basically paying for the view because the food isn’t amazing but not too bad. Drinks were great, mainly went for the bucket drinks. $ 15 for a drink bigger than my head :)

My first one star review and it pains me! I am so easy to please! Just welcome me when I come in, offer me some service, and act like you’re even a little pleased to have my money. My sister and I(both moms) took ourselves there as a treat for Mother’s Day. We checked their Facebook page to see when they opened: 11:30. Great. As former Belmar residents, we drove 30 miles to get there and we were so excited. The location right on the water with beautiful boats, the weather was awesome. What could possibly NOT be right? We walk in to the bar area and a man behind the bar named Joe is furiously prepping. I smile and ask if the the bar is open(we arrived at 12:00 so I knew they were) and he pauses, looks around like«Jeeze I’m not ready and you’re pushing me to be ready» and says with all the enthusiasm of Steven Wright«umm. Uh… Yeah, I guess.» Really? But that’s ok, we give second chances immediately! We say, «great!» And take a seat. He wipes down our bar area and asks what we want; we order two drinks. We are two ladies in our 40s, it’s Mother’s Day. We got smiles on our faces, people. He gave us our two drinks and went about«opening» the bar looking as grim and busy as George Costanza when he worked for the Yankees with the«look really bothered and busy and no one will bother you» episode. After 20 minutes of Joe walking right past us many many times — not asking if we want menus, not asking how we are doing, just doing everything humanly possible to not meet our eyes, I asked his name. Trying to get something kind going, just a small back and forth so that he might offer us a menu? Nothing. But wait, now a pretty blonde braided bartender arrives and we think ok maybe Joe was just the prep person and he doesn’t do customer service. The blonde bartender starts preparing the well right in front of us, right in front of us. She doesn’t look up, she doesn’t acknowledge us in any way. Again, my sister and I are determined to stay cheerful and have a good time. So I say,“hi!” And she looks up quickly and says«hi.» Looks back down and continues her work. Ok now we have two people who clearly wish we were NOT sitting at their bar. Now it’s been 40 minutes and our drinks are finished. No one has approached us since we first ordered just the drinks. Then Joe and blonde braid girl take it to next level: they start yelling across the length of the bar what they need to prep for the day. «I NEEDANOTHERVODKA»(or whatever). «HOWMANYORANGEJUICEDOYOUHAVE?» «YEAH I THINK I WILLNEEDANOTHERONE. DOYOUHAVEMORELIMES?» «YEAH I WILLBRINGTHEMOUT» — «THANKS”— At this point my sister and I look at each other and just start laughing to ourselves because you can’t make this stuff up– I haven’t been ignored to this degree since The Porch in SLH in 2000! We’re sitting right in front of you with empty glasses and you’re acting like you’re not yet open – And now it’s 12:45 and you opened at 11:30. Okay, but here’s the thing. I don’t care if you’re not ready — be nice and welcoming and grab me a beer or Bloody Mary every 25 min — like I said, I’m a happy camper if you just have that little dash of customer service. Like«gee, it’s Mother’s Day, you’re probably moms, you chose to come here… hmm. Hey how are you doing?» After an hour of this, at 1:00, we left. That might be the best part of this review: since we were completely invisible, we knew we weren’t getting our check. So we snuck 20 under our empty glasses(the bill was prob 12 bucks) and walked out. No one stopped us saying«hey you want to cash out?» Or «hey have a nice day ladies» — just like the first hour, the exit was the same: «you’re not welcome, you’re invisible, please just leave. You don’t even have to pay!» I can’t imagine going back and being ignored again, but crazier things have happened, so I’m willing to give them another chance. Please someone who manages 9th Ave Pier read this and train the bar staff in basic customer service 101. I can get a view sitting with my own BYO drink 10 yards away. – so I just read all of the other reviews and figured out you have to go to the front food truck to get food? Are we supposed to magically know this when we cross the threshold? Where is it posted? If it is, we didn’t see it.

Food was over priced. One of the worst hamburgers I have ever had. Altho, cooked well, it was only warm(we were two of 4 people in the place) and it had NO seasoning! Really bland. Totally underwhelmed. The fries were old, re-heated — come on guys there were no other people in the place. BUTTHEWORST was the bartender using his hands to put ice in my drink. Sanitation problem to the max. Who knows where his hands have been. I WILLNEVERGOBACK. Did I mention over priced.

Love it here, great food, drinks and the view is awesome. Great place to stop after the beach for a drink and food. We’ve been coming every week. Food is a bit over priced but always good. Try the suzie girl bucket or the orange crush cocktail. Ask for sean, best bar tender!

This place is like many other pier bars/restaurants. Love the marina view. Pier 9 has a pretty decent cocktail menu mostly of frozen drinks and cocktail buckets. They also have bands that come and preform– very jersey/beachy vibe. Once you’re seated you have a waitress who takes your cocktail order, each table is numbered, your server will instruct you to take a look at the menu then order from the yellow shed. My party ordered a variety of things fish tacos, oysters, burger, blackened mahi sandwich– all good. My boyfriend ordered the special pier burrito unfortunately when it came to the table it was more of a wrap than a burrito not sure if it was supposed to be like that but he wasn’t happy. All in all we had a nice day. I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way to come back to eat here but great place to kick back on a nice day and have a few cocktails.

This is a great idea– a clean, modern looking bar on the pier /marina in Belmar. It would be a great place to watch the fishing boats come in or watch a sunset. However, the mediocre service and $ 5 cans did not impress us. No food or drink specials. We didn’t eat here because the menu seemed pricey. I know we checked in here but our check-in with tip isn’t showing up. This has happened more than once with other places. Not sure what that’s about. ? I want to come back but probably not until late summer or early fall, either for happy hour or sunset. I will update my review then!
