They have just reopened after the death of Paul the co-owner(such a nice guy rip) the food is simple but so so so good well crafted by Paul’s dad Richard the atmosphere is like having breakfast at a family members house everyone knows each other, the pancakes are awesome, and the burger is really good but the french fries steal the show.

I was visiting in the area and stumbled across this place as I had to take the early train back to the city to get to Newark airport. SERVICE Friendly and fast. The place is operated by a father and son. The son works the front taking the orders and making the coffees. The father take care of all the cooking. They have free WIFI, great for me as I need it to check my flight status. The son was happy and he cared about you starting off your day on a good note. Newspapers available and large screen tv worth the news on. There is also a great big clock so you know what time it is. There are a few tables where you can sit and eat your breakfast. LOCATIONANDHOURS Open nice and early at 5am and perfect location with the train stop right behind it with a convenient window to walk thru and a get a coffee. FOOD I have had there breakfast sandwiches freshly made and their full breakfast and its was yummy. Coffee, juices, milk and more for your morning drink. PRICES Fair and reasonable. $ 7 would get you a good breakfast and coffee. Next time I am there definitely getting breakfast there, its too convenient at the Belmar station!!!

Worst breakfast place. Would not come back. The waitress messed what could not have been an easier order(pork roll egg and cheese). First time it had ham and pork roll. Second time it was only pork roll and cheese. Too top it all off, the first sandwich contained a lovely hair. While the owner was very nice about the whole ordeal and paid for the meal, but it doesn’t make up for his waitress’s incompetence. Should have gone to the diner closer to my house.

What a disappointment. Pork roll egg and cheese, what could be easier to make in NJ? Tasteless and bland. The cheap table shook like it would fall apart any second. Go to a diner! I’m from Jersey, don’t waste your money or time. Cheap, cheap, cheap. I just don’t understand the positive reviews. Was it a bad day? Don’t know, don’t care I’ll never be back.

Excellent freshly made breakfast and lunch. Friendly family run with terrific service. Everything made fresh to order, nothing sits around under a heat lamp. Great soups and sandwiches. Best breakfast in Belmar.

This place is the real deal. Happened in for breakfast. What good fortune! Tiny little place for sure. Maybe 8 tables. I ordered the veggie omelette and it was heavenly. I’ve gotten so used to giant sized, fake egg diner omelets that this was such a pleasure. Good, fresh eggs, loaded with veggies. Awesome, nutty whole wheat bread. Coffee was great, too. And the gentlemen who served us, and spoke with us, couldn’t have been nicer. And breakfast was $ 6 !! What else could you want?

This place really isn’t much to look at from the outside, but the cliché holds true. Do NOT let looks deceive you. We had always walked by Express Station and went to a horrible bagel shop in the promenade before wising up to the fact that anything was better than the cardboard that was being passed off for a Jersey bagel at this other place. Not only is Express«anything better,» it’s fantastic. We showed up slightly hungover, in need of coffee and some kind of carbs, and this exceeded all expectations. Bf and I split and order of pancakes, which was a terrible idea because I could eat those pancakes all day, every day(seriously, they were amazing). The coffee was diner coffee, but it was a from a fresh pot, and they offered raw sugar, which I appreciated very much. The owner is a North Jersey native, and spent time chatting with us in between customers. Every worker there was extremely friendly, the food was hot, the portions massive, and the prices were extremely low. This will definitely be the new go-to Belmar breakfast spot — I’m only kicking myself for tolerating so many awful bagels, when I could have had phenomenal buttermilk pancakes and a large coffee all this time. Lesson learned!

Good food served up quickly(granted they weren’t that busy at the moment — there was only 1 other customer there). But the food came out quickly and we enjoyed it. I can see how this location would be convenient for commuters, literally right next to the train stop. And the food was very inexpensive too!

Great place, awesome value, solid family ownership that are fully engaged in delivering value and quality. Have eaten here many times, always a great experience. Breakfast great and fresh. Old school and a small NJ diner type setting. Support the local small business owner, this ones a gem.

Tried this place based on the Unilocal reviews and wasn’t disappointed. Small but nice clean friendly setting with a delicious Taylor ham, egg, and cheese sandwich. Will definitely be back!

I love Express Station! Great homemade food, friendly, fast service, bang for your buck, cute place makes you feel at home. Rich and Paul the owners will treat you like family. Great place for a casual breakfast or lunch. Sit at the counter, have some eggs, coffee, wheat bread and watch the news on one of their two TVs. in the off season there is no wait so stop by and try this father and son owned place out!

Great for what I needed at the time. Which was something to fill my stomach on a Sunday morning before I caught the train back to NYC. Cute little(and i do mean little) diner right next to the tracks, Breakfast did the job but the coffee was weak.

Tiny, small, cramped — get the idea. But, speedy, decent food served with a smile by Paul the owner and his dad on the grill. Where else can you get cheap eats while feeling the vibrations of the Jersey Shore Line trains as they pass by?

This is hands down the best breakfast place in Belmar. It is located in the Belmar train station and you can easily miss it if you aren’t looking for it. Rich and Paul are great guys who treat everyone like family. The place is small, so you may have a short wait. They offer outdoor seating in the summer which opens up some more tables. They also have an open kitchen so you can see everything being made. I recommend the pork roll & cheese sandwich or one of Rich’s giant omelettes for breakfast. For lunch, the chicken cordon bleu sub and homemade potato pancakes can’t be beat. Paul also makes amazing homemade soups! Heading to Belmar this weekend and the Express Station is going to be my first stop!

The owner is great. Such a solid guy who is on top of things. It’s a tiny place that has good food. The price is amazing too! 10 of us ate for under $ 50!

I love Express Station so much. It is located basically on the freaking train tracks in Belmar and looks unappealing from the outside but inside it’s clean and cute and family run, which always makes me happy. We always order killer breakfast sandwiches from here at the office… Eggs, over easy, perfectly cooked, crisp bacon, and cheese on ridiculously yummy whole grain toast. They even cut it in half(I will only eat a sandwich if it is cut in half! What a weirdo, I know!) :-) The guys who work here are so nice and friendly. I will return here again and again.
