Great food, reasonable prices and friendly service. I had the Chilean sea bass and the portion was perfect and it was fresh and cooked right.

Reasonably priced best sea food restaurant by the Jersey Shore. This time we had the lobster bisque which hit the spot on a cold winter’s day. The garlic bread that was served with mussels in garlic sauce was tasty too. We enjoy most of our meals here, no complains.

Delicious! Husband and I enjoyed our dinner very much. Service improved since my last visit. Stuffed salmon and broiled scallops came out fresh and hot. Nice fresh vegetables– salad didn’t come with meal but it was very good — big enough for 2! We will be back !

Good seafood done right. Nothing special about the ambience pretty basic. A market where fresh fish and shellfish can be purchased or you can dine in for full service. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. The clam strips as a hot starter was meaty, tender and fried to perfection. Clam chowder was basic, no different than most other places. I may not spends my calories on that again. The PMI mussels in garlic butter sauce were just what we’d hoped. Tender and perfect for sopping up with the fresh garlic bread. A lot of mussels served for $ 9.99. My soft shell crab sanwhich was spot on. Hot, flavorful and easy to eat. The hubby got the oyster sanwhich which was meaty and fried well. When your in the mood for just some good olé seafood done well this is where it’s at. BYOB

We’ve been customers 4 times… First we bought tuna to bring home and cook. It was super fresh and prices are fair. Second time we ate in and ordered from the regular menu: seafood fra diavolo & shrimp & scallop scampi, both served over linguine. They were fantastic! We went back again at the end of the summer. Although there was a 50 min wait(we did show up at 6:30 on a Sat night), they opened our wine and we thoroughly enjoyed our wait. We ordered 3 items off the special menu(sea bass, halibut & tuna) and they were all amazing!!! Went again last week now that summer is over… Place was very quiet but the food is still fantastic. The specials are the way to go! Everything is great but those special are always exceptional!

So after my review I received a very pleasant letter from someone at Mr. Shrimp who assured me that the bad meal and poor service was a one time thing, and he asked that I return. We did this Summer. But it will probably be the last time! The only way I can describe the change from years gone by, it’s as if the owner stopped showing up.

Horrible, tiny parking lot that’s impossible to get out of! There were barely any patrons in the restaurant and we still waited a half hour for our food. Three different staff members waited on us. My Caesar salad barely had any dressing on it and whatever dressing it was certainly wasn’t Caesar. The rest of our food was under seasoned and overpriced. We won’t be coming back.

Amazing place. I had seafood takeout but was really impressed with the restaurant when I came in and placed my order. Really great menu, cool ambiance, friendly staff. I got the lobster salad wrap which was delectable. The menu had everything else seafood related that I had been craving that night as well, so it was hard to pick! The prices were reasonable. This is a great spot if you want quick seafood dinner after the beach or a nice sit down dinner.

very high quality, fresh seafood. premium quality that transcends that of Klein’s or Jody’s. most importantly, they have a warm, helpful staff and a very friendly, accommodating management team. I am grateful to use Mr. Shrimp whenever I am staying at my parent’s house at the Jersey Shore.

I went in on a Friday to get a table for two. The hostesses were rude when we told them we were just going to wait outside. Instead of waiting, we left. Your hostesses just lost good customers, who wanted to rack up an expensive dinner and annoyed us enough to write a bad review. Thanks!

Mr Shrimp was awesome when it was the original Mr Shrimp. This guy is a imposter and if you want really good seafood while your down the shore stay away from this place. Horrible!!!

There is no other place near here that has better fish! We like the mellow ambiance and of course the byob is a plus! While they have lunch specials I never get them. I like getting the swordfish grouper or sea bass. The crab legs are awesome!!! I wish they had freshly brewed ice tea and various types of oysters but other than that I love the place!

Mr. Shrimp was a big disappointment. Went in to try it due to good recommendations however, we had a much different experience. The restaurant is very nice but it is way too loud(couldn’t hear the people at our own table). Started off with the calamari, which was dripping in grease and the entrees(hot and spicy shrimp, broiled fisherman’s delight) were mediocre for a seafood restaurant. The fisherman’s delight came with scallops, which were miniature for the price. Overall the experience was just ok.

Overpriced and worse, over-seasoned. The linguine and white clam sauce, as well as the lobster bisque, were so salty I could not finish them. Bill was $ 75 plus tip for two adults and one child, which seems really high for a meal that did not include alcohol or dessert. Pretty disappointed considering how many rave reviews this place has. We were bummed out.

TRUEREVIEWREADME: The seafood is pretty good, nothing special. The calamari is great, that is all they have going for them. I ordered the«Maryland Lump Crab Cakes», well I got the Shredded Fishy Crap. I spread out the entire crab cake and didnt not find one lump, they cost $ 25 and tasted exactly like the ones I ordered from the bar for $ 12 last week. The owner took it off the bill, however he really did not want to talk to me and was trying to run away the moment I called him over. He told me that there is lump meat in there that got shredded when it was tossed. This is a lie, it was all breadcrumb and imitation crab meat. I found 2 strands of white crab meat. The owner even told me there is a second meat blend in there, apparently a mystery meat. I would come here for calamari, but after this experience I will never return. You cannot call a crab cake Maryland Lump if there are no lumps. The idiot owner told me that Maryland means the style it is cooked in and the spices used. That is total bullshit, I asked him well what about the word Lump, while showing him the pile of mush he falled a lump crab cake, and he said oh they got squished. Come on thats ridiculous…

Change the grease in the fryer and we’ll talk. Eh . is all that I can say. I’d rather go to Point Pleasant and find another place for fresh seafood. The server was okay but too snooty for me. Food was ok.
