Central Elementary School

Central Elementary School is a great school!

My review was to long for
, so I have decided to post here instead.
This point of view is from a parent of a first year student.
This school is clean, great core academics, and has the best and caring teachers/​staff/​and receptionist. The only thing that really bothers me about this school is the parents. They stick their nose in the wrong places and think that they have the right of way. This is not leveled to all parents since it is unfair to make that kind of accusation, just to the few that stand around before and after class to gossip and whine about the the school, teachers, and other parents (its hard not the hear with so many parents about). Yes, our school does have a strong parent involvement but sadly there are some parents that RUN this place like a business or the sad misconception that its there business (literally). They run around dictating rules and regulations not in respect to the school policies but there own wants and needs. Lets just call this what is really is: a bully
One morning I was dropping off my kid at the front circle lane and a parent that I don’t know thought to poke her head into my car and tell me to pull up all the way around the drive circle in front of the fire lane… shame shame (even I know thats illegal). I did question her at the time and she said, «So the other cars could past and get around me, this is the busiest time in the morning.» Okay back step, I stopped my car in the circle (to drop off my kid) just with the nose of my car touching the fire lane red line and a parent lingering about decided to poke her head into my car and inform me to break the law by blocking the fire lane, just so other cars can pass the orange cones (to the left side) that the school intentionally put out to block other cars from passing due to our kids safety. This is only one situation of 4 that I have had since being here for the school year. Another involves a parent helper calling my child a crybaby just to shush my kid up because they where crying, which actually resulted in them crying more hysterically. I can’t know the real story but I pieced it up after my kid got home and stopped crying after 30 minutes of consoling. I was clearly told «_​_​_​_​_​, mommy called me a crybaby» Shame Shame.
There are maybe one or two bad eggs in a dozen and that’s truly how I feel about the parents that are actually involved with the school. The majority have to click with some of the not so good eggs just to feel like they’re apart of something bigger. I suppose there’s nothing wrong with wanting to be a part of it all but its like high school all over again but worse. It saddens me to have to surround my kid with this kind of company and have ultimately decided that this environment is not the healthiest and safest place for my kids first years. Good luck to everyone else that has not had my experiences and hopefully those bad eggs filter out fast.
