If i could give this place no stars I would! Went in for lunch and the service was horrible. Sally our waitress did not check on us once, even though she kept walking around our table talking to coworkers. The food got dropped off and again she didn’t see how everything was! Horrible service!

Don’t order the chicken sandwiches! The chicken in my sandwich was extremely TOUGH and RUBBERY. I had to send it back that’s how BAD it was. I just couldn’t force myself to eat it. I ended up just ordering an omelette. My server didn’t even show that he cared that my food was unsatisfactory. The least he could do was take the food off my bill completely. Even though I ended up ordering something else and eating it, at least make me want to come back again! Not only that, but the employees were lounging in a booth talking loudly and not attentive to the guests dining in their restaurant. One woman actually had to get up and track down her server to order her food. I thought this was going to be a good experience but I highly regret coming here.

Understand that it is New Year’s Day, so no one wants to work, and possibly they are very under staffed, but waiting around with no service(not even let me get you started with the drinks) for half an hour, then got an attitude from the waitress named SALLY, was simply not right. The waiter on the other side of the restaurant seemed fine. And another table who sat down much after us was done and we barely got our drinks. Food was not good — toasted marshmallow hot chocolate has a weird after taste, the pancake falls apart, the crêpe has a bad texture(like wet tortilla), scramble eggs were dry. I would never want to come back, not for the bad/no service, terrible attitude from SALLY, or the below par food. It was a waste of my time, calories, and money.

Service is always great, the price is great, and sometimes you can sit near a window with a great view of the Caltrain. I like the layout and flipping through the menu. I hardly ever have to wait(that’s a huge reason I keep going back).

This star is for the service, it was ABSOLUTELY nonexistent. Dropped in for a late lunch and the restaurant was practically empty. Had to ask person who seated us to get someone to at least bring coffee. THe older gentelmean I was with had a talk with someone(the manager, I’m assuming). Another long wait for the order and food. Don’t know who was managing on Sat. 8 – 29, but they should really re-train the servers.

Came in with my sister at Tuesday afternoon. We got seated right away and my waitress was very attentive. I ordered house special breakfast and my sister ordered Veggies Omelette. It was fresh and VERY delicious. Yum… And we still had some food left for to go. The restaurant was still busy after lunch hours. It seem to me that people are enjoy the breakfast here just like me regardless of the time whether it’s the day or night. :)

we come here often and always are treated with speedy service and friendly servers. One gal has been there forever, and she is the hardest worker I have observed!!! She remembers my orders and goes the extra mile for us no matter how many of us show up for dinner!!! Our utensils are always clean and the new menu is great; except they need to serve 1000 salad dressing!!!

Came in on a busy Saturday morning. Waited 2 – 5 minutes to put our name on the waitlist. Didn’t take too long to get a table. The table who got seated after us already got their orders taken. Waited 5 minutes and still no acknowledgement. My dad had to call another server to take our order. Rosalie decided to take over and serve us. No surprise with the menu. I ordered a vanilla iced coffee(taste a lot better than the mocha). Our order took a little longer but understandable. I also ordered the chicken fried steak with pancakes. The food was good, However my dad ordered the garden omelette. The veggies were on the top. No veggies in the omelette. Poorly made and had better at other IHOPs.

Had low expectations for chain restaurant but this ihop is one of the best in bay area — faster service, looks nicer inside, tasty food. This place is very popular for saturday breakfast — saw lots of families, couples, groups of friends. I wouldnt try to eat here too often as its not good for the waistline(everything seemingly has to come with pancakes, butter, whipped cream, syrup) — but its nice once in a while

I’ve eaten at a few IHOPs in the area, this one and the one in Foster City. The food is usually typical. However, on Saturday we ate at the Belmont IHOP and the food was terrific. I got the country fried steak and eggs and my friend got a veggie omelet. He said the broccoli was cooked to his liking … not overcooked and soft and not raw either. I was really impressed. I’d give it five stars if it weren’t for the fact that when we went to leave, there was a heavy-set Hispanic woman(not sure if she was the manager … she went back in what looked like an office behind the register) reprimanding some of the servers in the server’s area in front of the kitchen. It was rather ugly and I felt bad for the servers.

Actually stay away. I came here the other day to get some pancakes and sausage on the side. Mid bite I look and my sausage was RAW(mind you it was turkey sausage) So not only did I spend the last two days on the toilet throwing up amongst other things, I was hospitalized for dehydration. Never again

The resturant is not clean at all. I ordered two coffee and when she brought our mugs I saw the lipstick mark on both cups. Worst than that when I complain to manager!!! She was rude and harsh, instead of apologizing she kept saying my resturant is clean this is while I showed her a dirty fork from last customer under my table. I told her I am sorry I brought my family to your resturant. I will never go to ihop.

i am amazed that i am compelled to give 4 stars to any ihop but this ihop well deserves it. it all started with marzella, our server, was awesome with her bright smile and contagious friendliness. then my bacon temptation omelette was perfect — picture perfect, and tasted oh so scrumptious. my toast was actually ‘toasted,’ another rare treat. hubby’s ham and cheese omelette was great. he would have preferred less cheese in his, but it was very very good. and his hash browns were, again, browned to perfection. we came to this one, because we’d had a good experience in the past, and now we know, it wasn’t accidental. this belmont ihop is the best in our san mateo-belmont-redwood city area. kudos to this ihop… you’re doing something very right… thank you. we WILL be back!

I just don’t get the concept of waiting a long time for mediocre food and poor service. But that’s what I did recently when a small group of friends + kids went to the Belmont IHOP on a Sunday morning. Us, and a large number of other hungry people. Firstly, there was no parking in the lot, so we were forced to park farther down El Camino. Wait time for two tables of five: 40 minutes Wait time to order: 15 minutes Wait time for our food: another 30 minutes My chicken fajita omelette was OK; nothing special. No rye toast was offered, so I went without. Others liked their breakfasts well enough, but some orders were mixed up, and some orders were missing items. The kids’ food came 10 minutes after the adults’ food(Oops!). Coffee wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t very good either. Next time I want to wait a long-ass time for breakfast, i’ll at least make sure the food and service is worth it. It’s called«Stacks.»

Wow haven’t been to IHOP in years. The service for this location is fast. All of the syrups served at the table had clean bottles and were fully stocked. I asked for extra butter and it was served as well. Wait, why did I ask for extra butter? The short stack of pancakes were good, but they gave me the tiniest sliver of butter to go with it. Maybe I should have been more specific. The downside might be how busy it is. We sat in a corner surrounded by families with unusually loud children. The wide space and high ceilings seemed to amplify the problem. But if you can tune it out for some dense pancakes you’ll be good.

Arrived around noon on a Sunday afternoon. Was told about a 15 min wait, it was like 20 min. Several large parties seated before our party of two. After being seated our waitress was there in no time at all ready to take our drink orders. Food followed very quickly after that. In all it was a great experience our waitress was very attentive

Breakfast for 6, with one out-of-townee insisting we go to IHOP. It’s been years since I’ve been here, admittedly, so the 2nd star of this review is for vast improvement. Positives: Management is vigilant and aware of customer’s needs. Service was very good for a Saturday when the place was full. And, they have great wheelchair access, and know how to direct people so challenged through it. That being said, they had the saltiest breakfast sausage I’ve ever encountered. Eggs are fresh, but bacon relatively tasteless. Nut and Grain pancakes are the best… and these were tasty. A vast improvement, not present on my visit, would be warm syrup. The maple(traditional) syrup was running cold and viscous. Enjoy!
