It was ok service wise. I checked in and I showed the Unilocal check in but didn’t get my 10% off. I think the cashier was confused. I think they are getting use to this since the guy seemed new. Still tipped since he was nice overall. First time ever eating Jersey Mike’s in general. I am sure the food is ok.

This place has delicious subs. The tuna sandwich is very good and huge. The price is a little expensive but for the quality of the food it is acceptable. Customer service is excellent. I will most likely go back again whenever I’m feeling a sub.

Amazing service! Jocelin and Diana are wonderful people. They kept the mood light and they asked how my day was. Their sandwiches are amazing and it’s my spot for lunch for sure.

Been here twice now. Not going back service is horrible. Food is just ok. Went today and was told no one is there that can cut meat after standing there for 10 min waiting while no one was at the counter –Wtf?! I’m done.

My boyfriend and I go there several times a week. The service has been excellent every time, and the sandwiches are extremely fresh. They also have some great options to cut a few calories out of the mix. Overall, our first choice for lunch takeout. Can’t beat the quality for the price.

This was my first visit to Jersey Mikes. I got the #18. The sandwich was great. Girl at the counter offered me a cup for water without me asking and gave me a cookie for my first visit. Very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend.

I usually am underwhelmed by chain locations but this location by far has some of the best service I have ever received at a «quick stop» for a meal. The food is what you would expect and the sandwich line is clean and everything looks fresh. The customer service that I received from Alejandro is what I will be telling friends about and why I’ll return when there are plenty of sandwich options near by. I stopped in for 3 sandwiches to take with me on a Caltrain ride up to the city. I was hemming and hawing over what to get and Alejandro was quick to help me out. He asked if this was my first time to Jersey Mike’s and I said«yes» and he thoughtfully told me about the most popular options and answered my questions about their various sizes and spreads The prices are very fair for what you get. The best part? I was given a free cookie since this was my first time in! I believe the exact words were«a cookie for a rookie». It is the little things that matter and Alejandro and this location make me love Belmont even more.

I had the chicken bacon and my girlfriend had a normal cheese steak. They were ok sandwiches at best and pretty expensive. My girlfriend hated hers and she loves cheese steaks. There were a ton of jalapeños on her sandwich and it just tasted like a spicy chunk of bland meat. We are both stumped at the 4 star rating.

As an East Coast transplant, I get cravings for cheesesteak, but this place misses the mark. The meat was white, roll wimpy, insides were soggy in a watery not cheesy way, and it just didn’t taste right. Much better to go to Jersey Joe’s on the border of San Carlos not far away. Joe’s is legit, with beer, shakes, and real cheesesteaks that we crave. Mike’s feels like a copy, designed by a corporate team interested in maximizing return on investment. Fine place to go if you just want food, but there’s no love here.

I have to say when they first opened I was like… great another sub par(no pun intended) sandwich place coming to the area… I did not go for a while after they opened… I decided to give it a shot and they are pretty darn good! Yes it may not be as inventive as an Ikes, but they are good solid sandwiches. The bread is good, the produce is good, and meats are great. This place is a home run.

Stopped by and had the Original Italian. Seemed like a good choice to gauge this new entry to Belmont. Between the freshly sliced meats(!) and fresh produce, this place puts together a pretty flavorful sandwich. Yes, they actually sliced the meat just before putting it into the sandwich. Yes like other reviewers my enthusiasm was pretty muted for another chain restaurant in Belmont, but my taste buds and stomach are less picky. Also worth noting the manager was very welcoming and the décor was nice.

Don’t listen to the sandwich snobs who want the quality of a bourgeois delicatessen for a subway price. This place hits it right in the middle of the two. Friendly staff, fresh bread(remember to keep wheat well in stock) and a great addition to downtown Belmont. I’ll be returning for my #7 Turkey Prov. Keep up the great work!

My first review of JM was for their San Mateo store and I gave them rave reviews as I thought their sandwiches were great. I ordered sandwiches other than chicken. This time I went to JM in Belmont, they just opened, and we ordered two grilled chicken sandwiches.(number 26 and 55) The chicken was bone dry in both sandwiches. The chicken was over cooked as I watched the cook put the uncooked chicken on the grill.(this was not chicken that was reheated) Now in defense of the cook, I think this is the way JM prescribes the cooking times because my wife had a similar chicken sandwich in San Mateo a few weeks ago and she said the chicken was very dry. So… bottom line, I like JM sandwiches but will not be getting their chicken again.

Slicing the«meat» to order would normally be a cool thing – if it was good meat. Their hydrogenated lunch meat is poor quality. I could not finish even half the sandwich. I have no idea why people would eat here, unless they have a numb palate. With great places like Lorenzo’s and Greedy Ant, there is no need to go elsewhere. However, this place will be popular with the kind of people who frequent Subway.

The Grilled Pastrami Reuben at Jersey Mike’s is just delicious. Don’t leave Belmont or San Mateo County without eating at Jersey Mike’s first.

They are good. But I’ve had better. Wasn’t fond of there roast beef, but the club was better. I prefer the dill pickle sub place around the corner(or whatever it’s called). I will go again just because I work so close.

While San Carlos continues to excel at attracting one-off high caliber restaurants which serve to embellish its already impressive reputation as a go-to spot for dining, Belmont added another chain sandwich shop to its underwhelming selection of options – Jersey Mike’s Subs. I’d be willing to bet that at its inception, Jersey Mike’s might have been a decent sub shop – perhaps even great. But alas the corporate world got hold and has turned it into another profit center deli – at our expense. The meats are displayed old-world style right in front of you and they even slice the meats to order, with the unintended consequence of slowing down the assembly line. Clearly this is an attempt to distance themselves from fast food sandwich spots like Subway, but it really just serves to slow down the line. The quality of meats being displayed are dubious at best. Marketed with their own label, these are products which appear to have been developed specially for Jersey Mike’s chains. Unfortunately, they are not name brand deli selections such as 5 Knives or Boar’s Head but rather processed meats with the disclaimer WATERADDED on the all of the labels as if it were a badge of honor – better to keep these hidden in the back if you ask me. I ordered the #13 which they call the Original Sub sandwich – an Italian style sub with provolone cheese, ham, prosciuttini(essentially a black pepper ham not to be confused with prosciutto), cappucuolo, salami and pepperoni. They make it regular mini or large so I opted for the 6″ regular at 680– calories for $ 8.50. Once they finish slicing the conservative portions of meat and cheese the assembly line kicks in and the next guy down the line ask you what you want to finish it with –just like Subway. I give high marks to the newly trained staff as they had been open less than a week and enthusiastically put together my sandwich, though they had to ask me multiple times want I wanted – they were good at asking the questions, but not so good at listening to the answer. I opted to also include the only ingredient that seemed to stand out as a signature item for the shop which consisted of a red cheery pepper relish, depending on who you asked. It was more sweet than hot but gave the otherwise rather bland sandwich some much needed flavor. I discount their assembly of the final product as it was overly laden with oil – not olive oil as they probably want to you to believe – but«olive oil blend» as the fine print says. Not to say I’m done with this place, it deserves another chance or two once the dust settles from the grand opening – which by the way the owner has offed to generously donate his proceeds to the Belmont Carlmont Boosters for the first five days(now over). Of the chains in Belmont I’d probably get a sandwich in this order– Mr. Pickles, Which Wich, Jersey Mike’s and finally Subway which appears to have the lowest quality meats – is that an oxymoron? But if you’re downtown and looking to go up a rung on the ladder of sandwiches, you might try The Greedy Ant on Ralston across from Mr. Pickles and enjoy really gourmet meats and cheeses – also hand cut, but for a better reason. UPDATE9/3/2015 – Went back to try their«Jersey Mike’s Famous Philly». Not sure if it’s really famous but they say it is. It not a real Philly sandwich which consists of raw meats such as Rib Eye cooked to order on a flat top. Here they use already cooked roast beef. That said, the sandwich was far superior to the #13 I had ordered above, just not quite as high marks as Jersey Joe’s in San Carlos.

A few weeks ago I had a craving for a good deli sandwich. I’ve been to Jersey Mike’s in LA before while visiting and I’m not sure why but it came up in my mind. I searched my Android phone with the«Google Now» feature for«Jersey Mike’s.» To my surprise it reported a recently opened location in San Mateo. I went there to eat. It was delicious. In conversation with the owner(Ed, who is a spectacular guy by the way) he said they were opening locations in Belmont and San Carlos soon. Woo Hoo! I went to the Belmont location on a fluke a few days before their opening date of 8⁄26. Turns out they had the door open a little after noon and were«practicing» making subs. I got 2 sandwiches for free just by being in the right place at the right time! Who says there isn’t such a thing as a «free lunch?» This will be my go too location now that I’ve moved to the Belmont area(only been here a couple months now). This place is going to put«Which which» sandwich shop nearby out of business.

A Rueben without Rye is wrong but putting it on a squishy white roll is a sin. The«Giant”-sized sandwich is really just a 6 – 8 inch sandwich, not what I would consider a «giant» sandwich.(When I first ordered the giant I imagined having enough leftover for a midday snack but I was still ravenous after the«giant» and I am not a porker when it comes to eating.) Suggestion to staff: Add a napkin or two for the to go sandwiches. The owner promised that the first five days of sales proceeds will go to the local donation.
