Prathima Bayisetty, DMD

I have pretty good teeth, so my main measures of a dentist are: 1) does she push me to do unnecessary dental work and 2) how good are the hygienist and office staff, since I’ll be working with them even more than with the dentist.
Dr. Bayisetty does very well on both measures. Her hygienist is skillful and pleasant, and her office manager is very on-​the-​ball. And she has never recommended unnecessary work — she has been very willing to «wait and see». I am very, very pleased.
The office is only open three days a week, and it’s a single-​dentist practice, so scheduling can be a little tricky.

Preface: I have a ridiculous phobia of dentists and suffered years without dental insurance.
Dr. Bayisetty is a godsend! I knew I needed a root canal for over a year, but couldn’t afford it. Fast forward to the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, I wake up at 2am with earth shattering pain radiating from my back molar. I called every dentist in the area probably starting at 3am in the hopes that someone would be able to see that this was an obvious emergency and get me in ASAP. Dr. Bayisetty’s receptionist got my message and called me back promptly at 7am with an appointment to see the Doctor at 9am that day and technically without insurance as my card was being weird! Talk about moving mountains. I wanted an emergency tooth extraction– I still couldn’t afford the root canal and would rather have taken pliers to my own mouth than wait another second with that tooth in my mouth.. . 2 hours later, 1 pissed off tooth gone, a little bit of sweat (the dentist’s– she’s a little lady), and I’m walking out the door with prescription in hand for my antibiotics, pain killers, and her emergency number for the Holiday weekend. Note: the only reason I was there for 2 hours was because apparently my roots went up half near into my brain.
With no insurance!

From the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out, I felt taken care of and calmed. What a wonderful experience! And now that my insurance card is here, they’re working with me to get retroactively compensated for it all. Great experience. Go to Dr. Bayisetty. You will not be disappointed.
