I came to see Robert after my father passed away. I was deeply impacted by my father’s death, and felt so incapacitated by my emotional and physical state that I felt that I was never going to ever feel or function normally again. Along with helping me work through the grief and the latent anger that I had been carrying for years, Robert helped me to regain my physical well-being. Progressively at each session Robert was able guide me through working out my feelings and my self critical view so that I went from feeling that I was going do have a heart attack from the anxiety, to acceptance of the grieving process I was going through, and to finally feeling well again. I am very grateful to him for his help during those difficult few months, and for his insights about me that continue to help me in my daily life.

I could not recommend Dr. Mitchell highly enough. He has all of the qualities you would want in a therapist. He makes me feel comfortable. You never sense that he is judging you. He really listens. He is incredibly insightful. But perhaps the greatest thing about working with Dr. Mitchell is that he does an amazing job of helping guide you to your own conclusions. Not only does he talk you through specific issues during your session, but he also gives you the tools to handle life outside of the sessions and in the long-term. I truly felt like he was trying to teach me how to be a healthier, happier, and more content human being on my own, not just in the context of my relationship with him. And when he felt that I had reached a good, stable place, he was the one to raise the issue of of whether we needed to continue meeting. So you never have to worry that he is going to pressure you into continuing sessions beyond what is necessary or helpful to you. While choosing a therapist is obviously a very personal decision, I would strongly recommend Dr. Mitchell. The best endorsement I can give him is that, in large part due to his guidance, I am now a much more comfortable and content human being each day of my life. Speaking with him was a dramatic, life changing experience.
