Midway Park is a great park to bring younger children for a fun afternoon of rides, games, cotton candy, and beautiful views of the lake. As one of the oldest continually running amusement parks in the country, it’s expected that the rides and décor may feel dated, but that is part of the charm. That being said, as of May 2015, some areas could definitely use a coat of paint, but otherwise this park offers a carousel that overlooks the lake, rides for the young toddlers, rides for slightly older children, and games, bumper cars, and go-carts for anyone. Don’t expect to spend more than a few hours here since there aren’t that many attractions, but it’s definitely a great spot to pack a picnic if you’d like to stay longer. Or you can even rent one of the picnic shelters for a special celebration.

A fun inexpensive New York State park for little kids! They have plenty of rides, games, and places to eat to fill an entire day of family fun. The park is located right on the lake, and have tons of free parking and shaded picnic areas. The only down side is the quirky schedule they are open, but overall it is well worth the drive down! The cherry of top of all if this is that admission is free! You pay for the rides and games separately. A great custom budget way to spend the day!
