The Springs is one of our favorite restaurants on Lake Chautauqua. With an extensive menu, and a huge selection of daily specials, you’re sure to find something to tickle your taste buds… the trouble will be deciding which meal to order! In addition to several sandwich and salad options, there are also many fish, meat, and pasta choices as well. Specials include crab cakes, pork chops, lasagna, goulash, stir-fries, and more — even vegetarian options. All entrees are creatively prepared by Dan, owner/chef, and his friendly staff, who welcome you with prompt courteous service. Don’t forget to top off your meal with one of their 20 or so homemade desserts, or maybe an ice cream cone, if you have room! Oh, and don’t miss their Sunday breakfasts – to die for! All in all, a clean, charming, air conditioned spot for consistently delicious food at a value. The locals know, The Springs is the spot with something for everyone in the family.

We stopped here, on a whim… and in hopes for a quick meal before the amusement park across the street and then a long drive back home. What a mistake! A ¼ cheeseburger and chicken fingers took over an hour?! We were basically ignored when we walked in, for 5 minutes. We went to the counter to ask 2 waitresses standing there if we should seat ourselves. One walked into the back and the other back on the floor, avoiding even eye contact. It’d be one thing if the place was busy, it wasn’t busy, there were a few tops. The atmosphere, although expected country-esque, was dated and felt dirty. I kept getting a whiff of the old people sitting near me. I swear I’m not normally this negative, but it was brutal. Half-way through our meal other people were sat at the table next to us and were the biggest WT you can imagine. The woman would not stop talking(loudly) about her past employment. My burger wasn’t bad but my wife’s chicken fingers were not good. The breading tasted like tortilla chips. Strange. There’s better options on the lake. I’d suggest someplace else. We won’t be back.

Excellent diner, specials need an entire whiteboard of their own. Food is very good. Service is quick and friendly, and prices are reasonable, especially given the location. A nice alternative to some of the«lines out the door» diners in the summer. Many flavors of ice cream for a nice treat after Midway Park, right across the street.

Very excellent diner. I highly recommend the cream of crab soup and the Jamaican jerk chicken sandwich. Great family atmosphere. Can’t wait to try their breakfast!

Great restaurant and great price. Large portions and friendly staff. What more can you ask for. I will defiantly be returning there. I was in a group of 6 adults and all of our meals were very good. It’s not gourmet door but just good mom and pop type food that is plentiful. I would suggest the Mac n Cheese.

Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else. This place is probably for the local farmers only for their big night out. There is a printed menu but also a lengthy hand written board with specials(about 15 of them). The board is posted across the restaurant so you must walk over to see it. The server cannot tell you the specials. There is nothing healthy on this menu. Salads are iceberg lettuce, no greens here. Overcooked«grilled» haddock was swimming in butter. Pasta primavera was made from bagged frozen veggies. The quality of ingredients used is very poor. Cornbread is served with all meals but they have no honey and are confused when asked for this condiment. They serve Perry’s ice cream but cannot tell you the flavors. Once again, you must walk somewhere to see them.(Are they kidding?) servers are either confused young girls or surly old women.

And it truly is as good as it gets! Great food, created by and watched over by Dan. There is always something new, as well as old favorites on the specials list. Dan does a wonderful job with all kinds of fish and seafood. His pasta dishes are creative and exciting, as are his stuffed bread bowls and fruit and vegetable combinations. His spareribs are a real favorite. If you can’t find what you want on the specials board, there are wonderful choices on the sandwich menu. Lots of interesting sandwiches and pizza. Try it once, and you will become one of the regulars. His staff does a great job, and always sees to it that you are well taken care of.
