So yummy! GF and I Ordered: the beer sample platter, the cider Weiss was my favorite and hers was the Gigantor — NW red. She ordered salmon enchiladas and cleaned cleaned the plate. I ordered the pub burger with pepper jack cheese and it was very yummy. We took back a growler of the red as well.

This is a review for the actual production brewery on the outskirts of town. They don’t offer food or beer tastings, but they do have an awesome tour on Fridays at 3:00& growler fills from 9 to 4, M-F. Luckily hubby & I were able to get in on a tour of their huge facility while we were in town last week. Bec was our hilarious tour guide who showed us around while chugging a beer. She explained the brewing process and lead us from one end of the brewery to another. We got to see their original 10 barrel brewing system which is still in use for pilot brews. They recently installed some 400 barrel fermenters… just goes to show you how much they have expanded! There is quite a bit of construction going on at the moment but as Bec put it, «If you’re not expanding here in Bend, you’re doing something wrong!» So true. I loved the laid back atmosphere at the brewery. Everyone was joking around & just having a good ol’ time. But don’t let that fool you… these guys are serious about beer & make some of the best I tried in Bend! My favorite was the Sinistor Black Ale. It’s a dark beer but not too heavy or hoppy. I also enjoyed the Project Failed Red Ale. The only thing that failed in this beer was that they tried to bottle it on nitro, similar to Guinness or Boddington’s. Well they failed to do it, but the beer itself doesn’t suffer one bit! Of course since we visited the brewery we also had to visit the brew pub… twice. And I took a growler of the Sinistor home with me. I’m a huge fan!

Just when I thought I’d give them another chance after hearing they were bought out by a big corporation they show it was a bad idea. Wanted to buy growlers and beer and go to the headquarters and am told have to drive to the other side of town and buy it at the pub. The pub of course is located in an extremely small building with no parking any where. You would think they would want to promote their company by selling shirts, growlers and beer(other than by the case) at all their locations. I should have known with the corporate company trucks in the parking lot they found all the promotion they need. Now they just get to have people buy the beer and can forget about people actually loving it and wanting to promote it.
