My family and I are in town from California. This is our first visit to Bend Oregon and also our first visit to the Old St. Francis McMenamin’s pub. We found the campus very large, confusing and poorly marked, however the staff was friendly and more than helpful in finding our way around. Our friends in town had told us beforehand that the service can be suspect and the food is just marginal, I found this to be a little harsh and not all together accurate. I believe our waiters name was Craig or Greg. I found him to be friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and funny. When he asked my wife for a refill on her wine and referred to it as grape juice, he had us both laughing. Our food was also very good better than expected considering my friends recommendation. I had the pork’s Snitzle, my wife had the elk burger and my son had a cheeseburger. All of our food was cooked to perfection and presented well. I would definitely recommend this place to all the travelers like myself.

This is the largest bar on the property, in the same building as check in and the hotel, it also has outdoor seating along Bond. It is a typical McMenamin’s in many ways, The menu has several unique to them specials, They serve the beer lineup and have a full bar. I had a Nutty Russian, quite good it is made with Phil a wheat wisky flavored with Oregon grown filberts(most people myself included can’t tell the differrence between filberts and hazelnuts) it is made at the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse’s distillery. To eat I had a Pretzel which was ok but served past it’s prime with the crust wrinkled… I also had a grill cheese which was tasty with lots of mustard and grilled onions both were from the happy hour menu. All that, two food items and the drink ran just over $ 13 plus tip. The problem here was the bartender, it wasn’t busy but it was very hard to get his attention,
