This is a small store on 3rd Street down near Goodwill. Staff is friendly, competent and helpful. Our refrigerator broke and we went to both Home Depot and Lowes. Neither could deliver a refrigerator any sooner than about 4 days. Sears was an after thought. They not only had a great refrigerator on sale for quite a bit off(high Consumer Reports rating) they were able to sell us the floor model with an additional discount AND have it delivered and installed the next day. Great job Sears!

The owners do not care about providing good customer service. I have a defective Craftsman lawnmower that starts and then stalls under load when cutting the grass. I had it in for service shortly after purchasing it from the old Sears on the north end of town. The problem is intermittent and the service center misdiagnosed the issue. Then the old Sears went out of business, leaving me with a broken(nearly new) mower. I took this mower to the new«Hometown» Sears on the south end of town thinking that a smaller, community owned shop would be able to do something to help a customer. I needed a new mower so I asked simply that they sell me one at their cost and take the defective one off my hands. This seemed like a reasonable request from a customer who obviously got a lemon the first time around. The manager called the owner to relay my request. She responded with a flat out NO directly from the owner, and told me there’s no such thing as their cost. Bottom line, the owners of this Sears had a chance to make things right without incurring any cost. Unfortunately the owner’s priority is on profit rather than customer service and they sent me home with my broken mower. You’ll get better pricing, selection and service from Home Depot, Lowes, or Ace which is where I will be taking my future business.

This place is a joke! I wanted to order outdoor furniture. They had ME go onto their computer to find it even though I had the SKU number I found online. They can’t match the online prices in this store? I don’t understand that at all. After wasting an hour I just wanted to leave! Never did get my outdoor furniture. Not helpful at all.

The full Sears department store in Bend on N. Highway 97 in the same mall as Macy’s, closed last December. A few weeks ago, this new Sears Homestown store, which stocks shop tools, exercise equipment, patio furniture, yard care equipment like lawnmowers(including riding style), leaf blowers and slow blowers and appliances for laundry and kitchen opened off S Highway 97 in the same strip mall area as Bend’s Goodwill. We discovered this store on driveby today(«Whats THAT doing there?») and went in for tire kicking washers and dryers, metaphorically speaking of course. We found many brands and styles in the bright, well organized showroom from Samsung to Kenmore to Maytag to Whirlpool to LG and super helpful sales staff. Nice to have Sears back in town for what we were most likely to be looking for when visiting them. THIS N THAT: 1) CANORDER: Some brands that are not on floor, like Electrolux W/D can be ordered. 2) ACCESSIBILITY: Accessible parking in lot, level in and throughout, ample aisle space. 3) NOLANDS’ ENDRETURNS: One of the things we used the full Sears department store for was to retun Lands’ End clothing items we might order from Lands’ End online.(Same parent company.) That was a convenient way to order two sizes or two colors and return the ones that didn’t work without paying return shipping. But the Sears Hometown stores to not take return of Lands’ End items.
