Ahhh… winter in Bend. Beautiful snow covered mountains. And dangerous icy parking lots. I managed to hurt my back Monday while putting down deicer in my business parking lot. After spending Tuesday and Wednesday unable to move, I made an appointment with Shawna Thursday night. She came HIGHLY recommended to me by several people. I went into her office extremely apprehensive because I was in so much pain, I couldn’t imagine how she was going to touch me without hurting me. But she quickly found the problem spot(turned out to be in my hip, not my back!) and worked on it for an hour. When she was done, I got off her table and was able to put on my socks without pain for the first time all week. This morning, I’m feeling better than I have in days. I’m still sore from the three days of back spasms, but I’m moving without having the wind knocked out of me. Another day or two, and I think I’ll be as good as new. Shawna’s not(as she put it) a paid lotion applicator. If you want someone to just rub oil on you, she’ll do it, but you won’t be using her to the best of her abilities. If you have pain or issues, she’s going to dig in and really work on the problem area until it’s better. Shawna even called me this morning to see how I was feeling. Ever had a massage therapist do that before? I didn’t think so. She’s by appointment only, but extremely accommodating to busy schedules. I’m a huge fan and can’t wait to see her again!
