Perfect family trail. Ponderosa pines throughout and a wandering stream make it interesting and beautiful. Up and back format, so go as far as you like. Lots of places to stop and play. Dog and bike friendly. Take an hour or two and enjoy. Note on wheelchair accessibility: In an earlier post, I mentioned that Shelvin was wheelchair accessible. After a very helpful conversation with Unilocaler Michele, I now report that it is considered by some to be accessible, but others strongly disagree. They point out that the main trails in Shevlin, although all level 1 and level 2 and so easily made accessible, have not been made so for lack of simple firm, stable and slip resistant surfacing. I hope this information can be useful.

This location(Aspen Hall) proved to be a wonderful location for our 2008 early Nov wedding. The deck, pond, and bridge were perfect for photos. Our catering crew pulled off an amazing feast using the kitchen as prep. We hung up twinkle lights and the entire hall sparkled. There was plenty if space for table/chairs for 120 guests, a buffet line, a DJ, and a full bar! Love the area and I feel lucky to have married here. It is a small drive from hotels and downtown, so we rented a local taxi(Green Energy(Transport) for the evening to drive folks home. Greatest idea!
