Whenever I have gone in they are rude and imply everyone one of my piercings has been done wrong or that my jewelry isn’t up to par. I have never had a problem with my piercings. I was just looking for new gauges

I was so upset when I went into Starfire today. I had gone there when I was 18 for a belly button piercing. Jamie was condescending and rude back then, but I thought I would give her another chance of redemption. I got my nose pierced in California– where I was living at the time. I was hoping to get a hoop instead of a stud. The staff at the front counter was Amazing! But when Jamie saw me she looked at me and said «you know your nose looks horrible right» excuse me? I’m a customer! You should NEVER speak to anyone (especially paying customers) that way! Then she proceeded to tell me that my jewelry was fake, (had it checked– it’s not) it wasn’t in the right spot, and that the girl who pierced my nose used a left sided stud instead of a right. I left wanting to cry. How could someone be so mean to others! I will never be returning and I will be sure to tell all my friends the same!

Not disappointed at all. Got both nipples done on a lunch break. Greeted initially by a professional staff. Very friendly and enjoy what they do. Jamie did her thing and I was in and out within a half hour. No complaints here. Let’s see how they hold up

My daughter and I have been going to Starfire for years for piercings and jewelry. I bought sweatshirts and tee shirts to advertise the shop! (all in the county landfill now).
We both liked Jamie. We even bought her a tee shirt with an old movie picture on it cause she was talking about how she loved that movie!
We thought of her as a friend. (BIG MISTAKE). My daughter went in for a piercing a couple of months ago and mentioned that a couple of my flat backs had turned black. Instead of being professional and saying bring her in when she’s in town and I will check them, she says «well you know she isn’t the cleanest person». WOW! My daughter was totally floored!!! Even though it is none of her business, I shower everyday and use a baby tooth brush on my jewelry!!! My daughter didn’t tell me right away because she knew how much it would hurt me. We went in and Jamie checked my flat backs and said it was the metal they were coated and the coating is warn off. Blah blah blah. She would order me stainless steel. My daughter told me after this visit needless to say I will NEVER go to that place again! We should have caught on to what she was really like when she was always backstabbing her other customers to us. I’m sure she was doing that about us to them. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! As my son would say. UN-​FUCKING-​BELIEVABLE!!! She is nothing absolutely nothing but a high school bully!!!’

I use to go to Jamie for all my piercings NOT ANYMORE. She is WAY over priced! And rude I mentioned some problems that a family member of mine was having with their piercings and she did nothing but insult them!!! Pissed me off and I told the family member what she had said pissed them off and hurt their feelings! Thank you but we are clean people and do shower and clean the piercings as directed by her! Stupid do you think it’s your cheap jewelry that you say is so high end and it’s not??? Duh Oh and attention people who still wanna go there and get ripped off your jewelry with the flat backs yea those are THREE PIECES!!! if you just want a smaller post in them cause she pierces with too long of jewelry just take the gem and back off and buy a smaller post! Not a whole new ring!!! Please people for the love of piercing go to TRENDKILL in Redmond and see LUKE someone who won’t bad mouth you and your family to people for their pleasure!!!

Went in to get a clear nose retainer since I can’t have my nose ring at my new job.
The girls at the counter were SO nice and fitted me for the perfect one.
I appreciated that when I was looking at other jewelry they weren’t being pushy or making me feel cheap for just buying a plastic retainer. I’ve been to some piercing shops where they are super pushy and it makes me uncomfortable.
I only got a quick glance at their jewelry, but it seemed very clean and they had a decent selection.
Will def be back for my piercing jewelry needs.

So I’m giving this shop 2 stars for the knowledge and the staff. That really to me is the only thing it has going.
I called the shop earlier just to ask a few questions regarding a piercing I received from a different shop in a different town. Since I travel full time I don’t have the luxury of going back to the shop that did the piercing, so I was hoping that I would get some help here. They suggested that I come in to have Jamie look at it and see what she could do.
So, I went in hoping I would get some help. The staff was friendly and said that they were sure they’d be able to help me. Jamie came out and asked what the issue was. After I told her the problem I was having first thing she said was that it was done wrong. Okay, I went to a highly recommended shop in Eugene and was pierced by a piercer who is a member of the Association of Professional Piercers. (Which btw I was told by a member of the staff didn’t really mean anything anyway. What?! I guess that should have been my first warning. Makes me wonder if Jamie is?) Jamie told me it is not how she does these piercings. So actually it’s not necessarily wrong, just done differently. Then she suggested that I have cheap jewelry. Not the case. It is medical grade polished steel.
She said she would not touch a piercing that was «done wrong» and she would look if I wanted her too but she wouldn’t be able to do anything. She made a few suggestions that I had already heard. So really no help.
Honestly I felt she wasn’t listening to the problem and just assuming that my piercer did something wrong and that was that.
She is knowledgeable I will say that, but honestly didn’t tell me anything I hadn’t already heard or known. I even told her of something that Elayne Angel recommended and she was shocked that Elayne would even recommend that. Again, giving me the impression that since she wouldn’t do it, anyone else who would is wrong.
I wanted help and all I got was a little berated and a lot frustrated. It really irritates me when a professional won’t listen to the problem. Being a business owner myself, I understand how important it is to listen and not make any judgment until you’ve heard the entire story.
I cannot speak about her work as I did not have her pierce anything but after seeing the way she put her guard up and getting a glimpse at how I would potentially be treated, I would not have her pierce anything.

Setting the stage:
Went to a competitor in town who wouldn’t help me by selling me a replacement for my navel piercing which fell out after more than 4 years (while on vacay in SunRiver). I stormed off and thought «this is no way to grow a business …»
Then waited til Starfire was open on Tuesday, and what a difference. I was greeted with a smile!!! When I asked if I could size up to a 10 g., I was taken seriously and the owner was consulted before I could continue.
They were so great and thorough and kind to me that I surprised my 14 year-​old daughter and got her the second piercings she’s been asking for. Bam! Everyone was SOOOO GREAT WITH HER. THIS is definitely the way to grow a business.
If all they did was sell me jewelry, I’d have been grateful. But they were awesome and knowledgeable and kind. I would not only go back in a pinch for a fix, but if I’m planning another vacay to Oregon (likely), I would even schedule a new piercing here. Check them out, they are liquid wonderousness.
FWIW: I’m a musician from SF Bay Area with 2 adopted kids. I’ve got 4 g. captive in my ears, one 10g. nipple barbell, my 10g. navel captive, and an 8g. PA. For me and most Bay Area pierce-​ees, Body Manipulations in the city is the gold standard. Starfire (albeit quite different vibe-​wise) has all the expertise and goodies of that place. They also have 100x the jewelry for sale in stock … Heck, I’d go back just to leverage their retail …

MUCH WORSE THAN JUST A BAD CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
In fairness, I’ll begin by saying that Starfire does, in fact, appear to provide competent piercing services. The shop is clean. The merchandise is of good quality. The staff seems friendly and, for the most part, knowledgeable.
But that’s where the good news ends.
My daughter and her friend both wanted ear piercings and, based on some of the reviews here, I foolishly advised my wife to check out Starfire. In all, my wife, my daughter, my daughter’s friend and her mom plus my wife’s mother (who just happened to be in town for a visit) all trooped down to the shop for what they thought would be a fun event for the girls.
Unfortunately, the owner, Jamie, quickly demonstrated why this shop has so many negative reviews. It’s one thing to have strong opinions and to assert them in a direct way. It’s entirely something else when that turns into deliberate, calculated insults. In the span of a few minutes, Jamie managed to call my wife stupid, then impugn my wife’s friend’s intelligence for being her friend, then went on to lecture my stunned family and friends about ‘reactions’ as opposed to infections.
This last bit is at the heart of why I’m posting this review. While Jamie’s behavior was so far beyond rude that we will never EVER do business with Starfire again, ultimately that’s just an annoyance. However, Jamie’s pronouncements about infection were so shockingly at odds with medical fact that feel an obligation to warn prospective patrons. In short, she has no idea what she’s talking about and she’s propagating misinformation that could lead someone with a seriously infected piercing to delay treatment long enough to put themselves in mortal danger.
Jamie, if you weren’t the owner, you’d have been fired long ago, not just for driving away business, but for putting Starfire at legal risk. If you really care about your business, I recommend you avoid customer contact as much as you possibly can. Continuing to behave the way you do will eventually force you to close your shop. Word will get around and people will find their way to less obnoxious sources of piercing services. Or, worse, you’ll pick the wrong time to dismiss someone’s health concern only to find yourself bankrupted.
As for me, the next time one of my family wants a piercing, we’ll drive to Portland. I’d rather spend three hours in the car than 30 seconds in the same room with you, Jamie. Come to think of it, I’d prefer a root canal.
Just sayin’…

Went in to change out a nose hoop for a stud for an interview today. They were super friendly and helped me choose a nose ring that I would like. Jamie was friendly and professional. All in all I would say its a nice, clean place.

The staff was energetic and very helpful. Apologized to me multiple times for the wait. When she got to me, she was very knowledgeable and gave me great advice. The pricing here is very reasonable.

I got my first tragus pierced here. It didn’t heal, despite following proper care instructions. They told me it takes a long time to heal, so I just kept on cleaning it.
I got my other one pierced in Corvallis and had the guy there check out my original one. He looked at it really weirdly and straight up asked if I’d gotten it done in Bend at Starfire. Apparently this shop is well-​known for doing a poor job with the tragus. Pretty ridiculous that someone else saw the shoddy work and immediately knew it was Starfire, which isn’t even in the same town.
My second one healed within three months, just for reference. Eventually I just took out the original one because it never got any better.

I will no longer go to starfire. I have had several bad experiences here. I went to get my rook pierced and was told the jewelry in my cartilage was done wrong and had cheap jewelry. Um… That was a real diamond and way back in the day no one pierced cartilage with a 16gauge like its done now. I was offended by this. Sorry I didn’t want to stretch my cartilage piercing that I had gotten done so many years ago! I took my sister in law in to get her nose pierced for her birthday. I was offended for her when Jamie told her that her jewelry that she was wearing in her cartilage was cheap and wasn’t the right gauge. I do believe they are scamming people for money. My sister in law was told on another piercing she had gotten their that you could come back and get it resized for free. When she went back to get the jewelry for her tragus resized they told her it could not be resized and she needed to buy new jewelry for it.

Had a great experience today! Jamie did an amazing Job and defiantly knows the Art of piercing! Anyone that complains about her needs to either suck it up, or go to Clare’s. Clare’s might even tell you how good you’ve been and give you a lollipop to go with your whine. I personally wanted someone with experienced and knowledge. Thanks Jamie!

If you have any piercings not from this shop, expect an unsolicited lecture. Otherwise, friendly staff and great quality jewelry.

I’ve had several piercings done here… my last experience was really negative so I started going to Dragonfly where I’ve had extremely good service. Also significantly cheaper.
I got second holes pierced in my ear lobes, and from the beginning, I noticed that the jewelry was far too long for my lobe. The guy that works there told me Oh don’t worry, you can just come in in a few weeks and have them «resized», like they had just done for my nose. (I also had my nose pierced there, and when the jewelry became too long I went and then they snapped off a bit of the metal to shorten it — for free).
So I went in a few weeks later and I was told that there’s no such thing as «resizing» and that I would have to buy new jewelry. I explained that the *only* reason I bought the jewelry in my ears was because I was informed it could be easily resized (cut down) like my nose jewelry was. Otherwise I would have bought a shorter size. This is not the case… and the new jewelry was going to cost me an additional $ 70. When I continue to press the issue, Jamie became very irritated and rude.
I told her I felt like her staff had scammed me a little bit forcing me to buy two sets of jewelry instead of one. But she insisted that no wrongdoing could’ve been done by her staff. Not only was no discount given to me for anything… but no apology was either.
My opinion that is just not a good way to treat your customers especially ones that have come back to you. As I said I’m now loyal customer of Tim at Dragonfly and they do a great job.

The girls who work there are very friendly and explained everything in detail. Jamie made my daughter feel comfortable, did a great job on her triple forward helix. I would definitely recommend and will go there again. Great selection of high quality jewelry.

I went into Starfire for the first time yesterday for a septum piercing. They were extremely busy but we were taken care of promptly.
The front desk staff were amazing! Talking with them calmed my nerves a lot as they were all very knowledgable and kind.
Jamie did a really fantastic job with my piercing. She could tell right away that I was nervous so she was extremely quick with the piercing (which hardly hurt at all) and I was done before I even knew it.
The studio was very clean and they have a extensive variety of jewelry for all tastes.
My overall experience was very positive.

Love this place I always go here to get my ears gauged and for new jewelry. Love the atmosphere and the people.

Let me start this off by saying I have worked in a piercing studio on and off for several years back in California. After moving to Bend I decided I wanted my septum pierced, but was nervous about finding a new shop. After several months of research and wavering I took the plunge and chose starfire. Mainly for the reason that piercing is their main focus and not secondary to tattooing. Second, I know several people with piercings from Jamie.
When entering I was blown away by how nice the place is! The staff were all friendly and knowledgeable without that tinge of snobbery you can run into in shop environments. While I waited I listened to Jamie talk a girl through a navel piercing. She knows her stuff, was quick, and seemed to put the girl at ease. When it came to my turn I scoped out her piercing room which was comfortable, and clean without the terrifying doctors office vibe. I’ve been pierced several times before and I can honestly say Jamie has a nice light hand, made me feel confident in her abilities, and is really a natural. The entire thing took only a moment and she talked me through the entire process even making me laugh a few times.
All in all I would recommend this place to a friend and will definitely return to purchase jewelry when needed.
