we recently had to rent a 26′ truck for an extended period of time. The service was awesome. Especially the gal, she was super helpful. Management was great too! I’ll come back to this store anytime I need something moving related.

First, 3-stars on Unilocal is «A-Ok»; 2-stars means«I’ve had better». I rented a small open trailer. I parked in the customer parking area. After finishing the paperwork inside, I asked«where do I need to go to get the trailer». The desk clerk said, «back up into the opposite lane, so you can drive right out the driveway after he [the trailer technician] hooks you up.» I exited the office area to discover a tech has already attached the trailer to my truck parked«head-on» into the customer parking right next to the entrance. I had to back-up, and as I did, a rental truck entered the driveway, and this nearly caused an accident. Being impatient, he swung-around me while I was backing up. It all happened very fast. I could have hit him. The person returning the truck nearly caused an accident, but this would never have happened, if the tech would have attached the trailer in the proper location. Not right next to the parking lot entrance, and in a way that I had no choice but to back up in a congested parking entrance area. The training and proper execution of procedures needs to be adhered to better.

DISASTER! Rented a towing dolly. Virtually everything went wrong with this unit. Within a mile of the rental yard the hitch came off the ball. Yes it was the right sized ball. The employee that hooked it up to my pickup failed to put a cotter type pin in the latch down mechanism. The safety chain kept the trailer from darting off into a dangerous situation. Fortunately I was able to find a pin in my tool box. Upon loading of the car, 15 miles away, I found that the straps that fit over the tires that tighten to the trailer were way too big to work. Besides the strap ratchets built into the trailer were rusty and wouldn’t work anyway. One tire was severely under-inflated. I had a couple of my own heavy duty straps that secured the car to the dolly but this method didn’t center the car as well as the included straps would have, if they would have fit. Consequently when backing the trailer out of the driveway, one car tire put pressure on the dolly fender and rubbed the tire(we’ll get back to this) causing a slight black mark on the dolly fender. En-route to town the right tire blew out and we were dead in the water(since no spare is included). Called Uhaul to come and get it. Called tow truck to get the car(which I should have done in the first place). Well U-haul charged extra fees for coming and getting the trailer(12 miles) and charged for a new tire-in excess of $ 200(twice what the tow service cost). They claimed neglect due to the marks on fender which in their mind proved the cause of the flat. Not so sure about that. Even if that were true, their equipment left me few options. No mea culpa for the crappy, non functional equipment from Uhaul. «Our crap equipment is your problem, not ours» would seem to be their motto. I just don’t see how a business can be so arrogant as to not take any responsibility for their poor product. Its kinda sad.

We arrived in Bend with our two toddlers and a full UHaul truck, after driving 18 hours. Eric and his team were awesome at providing solutions to our unique situation, while being friendly and professional. Let me just tell you, after hauling all your stuff and a couple of screaming kids across the country, it is great to have a staff that is ready to help you out — that’s what we got at this UHaul. Recommend!

Here is the deal. Bruce is the man. If you ever need a hitch put on your car or any U-haul needs, it is worth driving hundreds of miles just to come this particular U-Hual branch. Great service and good people. I suppose that sums up all of Oregon for you. You’ve just been Unilocaled in.
