Spring break/Easter brunch with the whole famn damily. We enjoyed the specials of the day, which were Creole inspired, Montecristo-style French toast stuffed with coconut and pineapple goodness, atop a bed of marscappone and pineapple sauce, Eggs Benedict Nadria with smoked salmon and house potatoes, and a(cannot remember what this dish was named) large 3-egg, pan baked omelette with sauted squash, onions and bell peppers with pureed bell pepper sauce on top. Also enjoyed their homemade applesauce and Marion berry jam with gluten free toast. Coffee was hot and fresh with a consistent full cup. The hot tea selection was really delicious, I had the cinnamon. The girls enjoyed their hot cocoas, whipped cream and all– it was like drinking a melted chocolate bar. The only draw back is the cramped little space that is only big enough for just a few guests. Always worth the wait and a treat to eat at the Victorian.

We went back again today. The food was still delicious. And it was not nearly as busy(we went on a Monday morning). This time I had the Sandra Marie omelet with egg whites and the delicious applesauce on the side. My husband had the Rabbit bangers and mash. He said he’d rate it 5 out of 5 stars. I still thinks it’s a little spendy. We spent $ 54 for two of us but that included two«man-mosas» at $ 10 each.

I’ve been here a many times now and have to say it’s becoming somewhat overrated. Example… if a traveler asks a waitress in town for a recommendation they will often recommend the Vic for a great breakfast. Maybe the the Vic is getting a bit lackadaisical and the fame is going to their heads because it’s not always a sure bet. In my opinion they need to work on their quality control and consistency. Sometimes the meal is off the chain but other times it kind of sucks. On my last visit, the eggs benedict was a sloppy undercooked mess. I hate to send my food back so I generally just suck it up and tell myself«never go back» and write a Unilocal review. It’s a bummer because on occasion or when I have guests in town I want to dine in this cute little house in the heart of Bend! Lastly, THEPRICESAREWAYTOOHIGH! Mr. Vic… how much do eggs and potatoes cost anyway??? Ridiculous!!! Ripping off one traveler/local at a time. Nice!

The Vic is an institution in Bend. Drive by on a weekend morning and you can witness the crowds of people drooling to get their table and food while enjoying the awesome bloody mary bar stationed outside. I hadn’t had the opportunity to dine here for over a year, and decided to pay a visit on a Monday morning when I knew the wait would be minimal. The service was wonderful. Promptly seated, attentive server who was willing to answer my many questions. The menu is very expansive for breakfast, and they are known for their benedicts. I found it impossible to choose just one item, so settled on a side of the house made biscuit and sausage gravy, as well as a half order of the California benedict — topped with turkey, avocado and their famous hollandaise. I was so excited for this decadent breakfast! Sadly, I could barely eat any of it. Everything was completely over salted. Both the gravy and the hollandaise left me gulping water for the rest of the day to counteract the sodium overload. The biscuit was good, but not amazing. And the last bit that gets me is the price point here. These two items and a coffee came to $ 29. Biscuits and gravy are pretty cheap to make, and the ½ order of any benedict only knocks off $ 4 from the average $ 16 price point. I know the Vic has been and will continue to be a breakfast institution in Bend, but this last experience left me nonplussed, and very, very thirsty.

Ahhhhhmazing! Not just an ordinary breakfast. A must-do Bend breakfast experience. Sometimes there’s a wait but its worth it… even when you standing in the snow waiting at the fire pit!

Came for Saturday morning breakfast, waited for 45 minutes. Was offered coffee while waiting by two great hostesses. As we walked to our table, we chose to eat, southern eggs Benedict. The dish was delicious, filled with southern spices end tastes. Side was roasted potatoes. Second main dish was great omelette with mozzarella fresh made pesto, cucumbers, real harmony in my mouth. Topped it all was the service by Aubrey. Her smile worth millions and her overall attitude was just . Wil definitely come back.

Amazing breakfast! The chicken fried steak was perfect, and the gravy was probably hands down the best I’ve ever had. Bf had the Benedict and really liked it.

Great great great food. Had a couple manmosas while we waited for our table outside by the fire pit. Ended up getting 3 things to share, eggs Benedict, a burrito and Carmel apple French toast. The French toast was definitely amazing. The seating was a little cramped and it is definitely expensive, but great food and friendly service.

One of our favorites. Hard to get a seat if it is a holiday weekend or during long holidays. Even in the summer with all the tourists and family visiting you will stand in line. They did add outdoor seating, tables and a fire pit which helps a lot. Food is fantastic especially the Eggs Benedict — you simply must try. Service is good, scones are dry, applesauce is great.

It took two hours to be seated, after standing outside in the cold. When we finally stepped inside, there were three empty tables. I got the impression larger groups got preferred treatment. Breakfast was average at best with TERRIBLE potatoes; thinly sliced and cooked on a plate, they came out either black and burnt or completely hard and under cooked. Wait staff were aloof and seemed to have a «don’t bother me» attitude. Mimosas were good.

I came here with some friends for brunch on a Sunday morning. I was warned that it would be a wait, but one of the unique things that I really liked about this place is that they had a mimosa/bloody mary/coffee station outside to keep you busy and hydrated(or, not so much!) while you waited for a table. We were only waiting for 10 minutes or so. I got the burrito with homemade sausage and feta and it was absolutely delicious! The flavor of the pork in the sausage was so good that it inspired me to make my own when I got home later that week. :) My colleagues got the french toast and one of the benedict dishes and were very happy as well. I also loved that it is in an old house. Great spot — and I would definitely return!

I was road tripping through Bend and it was breakfast time, would naturally I jumped on Google and looked for a solid restaurant to feed my never ending breakfast food desire. I wound up at the Victorian Café. My initial impression was of confusion — apparently try the host is outside and has a wait list out there. I walked inside once I realized this and luckily found a bar to sit at. I was greeted promptly by 2 different servers, one of which gave me a water while the other got me a menu. My server was a girl named Joy, and she was very welcoming and friendly. I told her my road trip plans and by the time I had left, she gave me a list of places to check out on my next stop(Portland). I had a dish called hobo potatoes, and it was phenomenal. I added bacon to it(because, bacon) and was overwhelmed by the size of the plate. The person sitting next to me literally gasped in awe of it. I dug in, and it was just as good as I hoped. It was similar to a skillet, and that happens to be my favorite breakfast food. Sadly, I wasn’t able to finish it, and couldn’t take it in a to go box due to having to drive a few hundred miles later in the day. Overall, I definitely recommend this place — great food, friendly staff, full bar! Downside is how busy it gets and the slight confusion on seating.

The wait was ridiculous. Almost 2 hours. Apparently you can call ahead if you’re local and get a table reserved, but if your here on vacation and in a hurry don’t bother. It was frustrating to stand there and watch open tables sit there with no people in them. The food was amazing however I’m not sure it’s worth a 2 hour wait.

Food is great! Would give four stars Except after waiting 45 minutes to get our table it took another 45 minutes to get our food which is hard when you have a toddler with you to keep entertained. Love the outside bar for drinks while waiting. Must try… Gravy get a side for your potatoes. If they have the prime rib Benedict on the specials make sure to try it. Delish!!!

Not sure if they’ve undergone a staff change in the kitchen, but the the Victorian’s breakfast have gone way downhill in the last few months. We refrained from writing a negative review the last few times, thinking it was maybe a fluke or bad luck, but 3 strikes you’re out. Which is a shame because we preferred The Victorian over McKays for a long time. The biggest problem is the grease. The omelettes are SO greasy. My wife used 2 thick dinner napkins to absorb the grease from her ‘Californian’ with light cheese. It was nasty. This wasn’t an isolated incident either because it’s happened the last couple of times.(Picture attached) Secondly, they need to update their online menu PDF as the prices are incorrect. The prices have increased 20% as opposed to what’s online. Which is not a huge deal, but it could be aggravating to those who are visiting from out of town and are on a budget. Probably wont be going back any time soon. I can’t justify spending the money for this kind of quality when there are many other options in town.

The Victorian Café will charm you as you walk into it’s dark wooden doors and grab a cozy seat by the window. The warm atmosphere is perfect for escaping a chilly day outside. Their Benedicts are ridiculous! In a good way! So many different ones to choose from in their normal menu and specials menu, however if you get there too late they might run out of some of the popular specials that sound super tasty. Their hollandaise sauce is silky, buttery and perfect. The other thing you must order if you are a brave Bloody Mary fan is the Proud Mary. This place is known for their 23 ounce glass of heaven complete with skewers of all the food groups which make it a fun, satisfying and an all around experience to laugh at. Oh the sausage meatball it comes with… mmm. If I ever spend more time in Bend, I know I will be coming here for bloody marys and eggs benedict! Oh you can also order a half order of the benedict which is filling in itself.
