There are contractors who just aren’t very good. Then there are contractors who may be good, but who cut corners. Then there are those who do good work in the areas you can see, but do downright dangerous work in the areas you can’t see. In June of 2013, we had Quality Installations install our range and oven hood. Everything I could see looked great: The oven and range looked great, worked well, and all the wiring I could see was properly tied and tacked down. In June of 2015, the oven hood stopped working. I couldn’t tell why. The wiring in the hood looked fine. No circuit breakers were blown. The wires going up into the attic looked perfect. So I figured raccoons or something had gotten into the attic and knocked something loose. Nothing could have prepared me for the horror story I found there. There, in the attic, loosely nailed to a rafter so it rocked back and forth, was an open, re-used box. Loose wires, not stapled anywhere, led into the box, and the Romex and knob-and-tube were loosely attached together… with electrical tape. They weren’t even twisted together, as my pictures would show if I could figure out how to upload them. This was all in a hot attic. A 12-year-old could have done a better job. Needless to say, in the hot attic the electrical tape degraded and the wires pulled apart. I am very thankful the hot line didn’t come loose and touch the side of the metal box — it might have been a fatal house fire. As it was, it took me all of 20 minutes to do the job right, then staple the line to prevent further stress. How can I possibly give anything less than one star to a company that saved 20 minutes but endangered my family’s life? When someone does a job so poorly there was a real possibility of your house burning down, it’s your duty to warn others to never, ever, EVER use this company for ANYTHING electrical. Period.

These guys are professionals. We called them to install a new double wall oven to replace our 25-year old GE. Over the phone I was given a price, and advised to expect the need for some cabinet modifications since the newer ovens are larger, with the estimate of what additional work might cost. The installers arrived exactly on time, removed the old oven, measured, and it was quickly obvious that significant alterations would be necessary if we were to install our newly purchased oven. After 1−½ hours of carpentry, they slid in the new oven which just barely fit by less than ¼″. Most installers would have taken one look and advised us to exchange the oven for a smaller one, but thanks to the skill and patience of these guys we didn’t have to go through considerably more hassle. In short: prompt, courteous, skilled, and ultimately successful in what was not an easy job. 5-stars.
