Come here just about every Saturday afternoon on my lunch break. Sandwiches are excellent, employees are friendly and you have to try the strawberry banana smoothie! Coffee is also great, goes well with one of their bagels. Would recommend to anyone looking for a small, reasonably-priced, family-owned café.

Great family owned Benicia café. It’s a small town classic with great drinks and even better atmosphere. Strong coffee too

Had an Americano and that just woke me up. Have tried café au lait before and it’s pretty good. The pricing for the coffee is very reasonable and the atmosphere in the café is nice and inviting. A good place to have that relaxing Sunday brunch. The bagels are fresh, though the egg sandwiches are a bit pricey

Love this local café. I ordered a large Thai Iced Tea for $ 3.75 and Lox Bagel(Smoked Salmon, Capers, Tomato, Red Onion, Cream Cheese) for $ 6.95. Both were delicious! I was afraid the Thai tea would be powder based but it was authentic like one from a Thai Restaurant. The staff was very friendly and I received my food promptly. The parking lot is pretty small, so you may not be able to find parking during peak hours. But overall the prices are fair, great quality food and prompt service.

Coffee and snack review only. The sweet sweet roaster in the middle of the room adds a star! Coffee was strong and clearly fresh roasted. Described as a medium-dark roast, which was accurate. Protein power par and apricot bars were both very good. Would like to come back and try their food. A few surprising negatives: –Barista did not know anything about the house made roasted coffee such as varietal or flavor profile. Did not appear to be a coffee expert –Only one type of coffee available for drinks which is shocking given that there is a huge roaster onsite and clearly multiple bags of green –No pour over or french press or Chemex preparation, just pumped from the carafe and only one available I hope I am wrong about most of the above. Maybe a Saturday afternoon is just an off time. Strange to have a roaster and feel like a limited onsite coffee experience.

This is a great family run coffee shop. The espresso is very high quality and very potent. They offer milk alternatives such as almond and soy. They have great pastries as well as egg sandwiches in the morning as well as lunch sandwiches. There’s a steady set of regular locals that come here daily for their morning coffee and socialization. However what pushes them to 5 stars is the service. I only drop by 1 – 2 times per week in my way to work. However I still receive amazing service as if I came in every day. Not only do they know my order, they start making it before I even order it. So on busy mornings when there’s a line, by the time I order and pay for my latte, it’s being placed on the counter for me. If you’re in the Benicia area and looking for a coffee shop with great coffee, service and food, this is the place to go!

This is my second time at this place and both times I enjoyed their coffee! My wife has the Café Breve(Latte with half and half). Great atmosphere and plenty of room to read, write or just hang out. Definitely recommend this place!

Rrags Caffe was a wanne go to place for a spell. usually, parking wasn’t available, so passed. finally got here, got confused by the coffee machinery in the center, coffee beans bins on the right, meager pastry offerings(dude! it’s been sold!, didn’t dawn on me), cheap sammies i didn’t comprehend. brew:(m. 2.1) –medium roast, very smooth, no harshness, easy sipping. –pleasant, easy to order, no pressure –obviously family operated drips: –very reasonable alternative to starbux, lots of tables/satisfied customers. –parking is the pits… maYbe i’ll get lucky again. no one parks in the subway spaces.

I think anyone who grew up in Benicia will and should favor this place over SBX. This place has been around for forever. And those of us old enough to remember, this place started out ¼ of their current size back in the 00’s. You can still see the glass pastry case they still use for their yummy goods. At Rrags they really care about their customers and really aim to please with their food, drinks, service, and ambiance. I love the idea of being able to walk into a place and feel like a community. Hope this place stays around for a very long time.

My sister had something equivalent to a Caramel macchiato, and it was WAYTOOSWEET. I’m not a man of wasting. Trust me I would make sure I get my dollars worth with everything I would buy, but this drink I hated and she tossed it. There is a difference when you actually make the STAROFTHEDRINKTHECOFFEEBEANS. It is coffee. Not sugar in a cup that tastes like coffee. Maybe I’m a bit too harsh with the few things we bought. On the bright side, the place looks great! Place is spacious, and a LOT too look at in the café. It feels like a historical ambiance. There is a Starbucks not too far from here, and it looks like there are quite a few loyal people that go here. If you are in a rush, then I just suggest to go to the Starbucks a few feet away. If you want a coffee date, go to Java Point Café down 1st street. If you are just curious, then please be warned. If you are here to eat, then don’t read my rating. 2⁄5 stars, but giving it a 3⁄5 because it is a local business, and I am all about supporting your local business!

I was a little confused about what Rraggs is all about. It’s a «Caffé», and they do have sandwiches, plus the Unilocal-recommended Chinese Chicken Salad, which was very good. They also have some baked goods selections. These things are not bad, but I think they detract from their core identity. Coffee is what this place is really all about. They roast their own coffee on the premises — in fact, the roaster takes up a good part of the seating area!(I was wondering what that was.) You can choose from a large selection of various fresh roasted beans to go. And there’s an abundance of espressos, iced coffees and frappuccino-like blended drinks they can whip up. I had the black and white mocha frappuccino and it was outstanding. In my mind sandwich places are a dime a dozen. But this place is a coffee roaster that sells drinks and beans: how many of those are around, especially in the far east bay? I think Rraggs would be well served by playing up their excellent coffee/roasting and investing in more of a coffeeshop feel(ditch the linoleum). If you like coffee, this place is definitely worth a visit!

Excellent local spot to grab a latte and a bagel in the morning. The bagels are brought in from Noah’s Bagels fresh daily. They only have a limited amount of them. So, I would suggest getting there early to get your preferred choice. They will slice them and toast them for you. Plus, they provide cream cheese upon request. I usually get a large latte and the taste is far superior to other lattes that I’ve had. If you are ever in town, give them a try.

What more can you write about when everything has been said already. The coffee is excellent, pastries are fresh and they just started serving Boba. The customer service is awesome. I can’t say enough goods things about Rrags. Hey I wouldn’t be the DUKE if I didnt like this place.

Awesome place to hang out and have coffee! Try the Mexican Mocha and the Spinach Quiche, they’re delicious! They serve Noah’s Bagels, fresh pastries, Chinese chicken salad, and fresh sandwiches. Everything on the menu is amazing, and some of the best coffee I’ve ever had! They roast their own coffee, with their roaster right in the middle of the shop. The employees are super friendly, they remember your name and face, and they will make your drink just the way you love it. It’s a family-owned business, and they’ve been around for almost 20 years. The coffee is 100 times better than Starbucks!

Hands down the best coffee & tea shop in Benicia/Vallejo area. I’ve tried a variety of beverages here, from the lattes to the uncoffee drinks, and everything is made deliciously! The coffee drinks are definitely strong and WAYYY better than that one chain place the next plaza over. Every so often, the beans are being brewed in the shop A plus is that the owners started serving BOBA ! yes, finally a boba place close to home. With the menu expansion, I’m sure Rrags can only get better and hopefully more popular!

All around great place! Come here for lunch all the time when Im working in the area, and this morning I came in for breakfast for the first time. Everytime I’ve come in its always been good. And the people are always nice. Usually when I come in I just get a coffee, their carmel mocha is my favorite. I’ve also tried a couple of their sandwiches and they were all good too. I still haven’t tried the chinese chicken salad that everyone talks about but my coworker get its every single time we work in Benicia and says its the best. The owners/employees are the real reason I give this place 5 stars! They are all always fast and nice everyone I see come in. When the owners are in(im guessing theyre the owners, I don’t actually know lol) they always make small talk with people, telling them whats new with their menu and recommending certain things. Them recommending things is actually why we came in for breakfast. I just got an everything bagel with cream cheese, but my coworker got their new breakfast sandwich. It was a bagel with cream cheese, smoked salmon, tomatoe, and onion. Sounded a little crazy for me, for breakfast lol. But he said it was really good. Recommend this place to everyone!
