Dr. Steckel delivered my 2nd child and from beginning to end, he and his staff were top notch. They never double-booked which meant your time slot is your time slot and they don’t rush out to see another patient who’s waiting in the room next to you. The office was clean and very well kept. Staff was always pleasant with all the patients that came in. Visits were thorough and he made sure to answer all questions you had and didn’t mind taking time to explain things. Because of Dr. Steckel, labor for me was a little less painless. When I got admitted he was there by my bedside within the hour and made sure to check in with me throughout my progression. Never did I feel that he was waiting to catch my baby like other doctors do. He was there every step of the way. During active pushing he was there helping suppress the pain I was getting from back labor. After 18 minutes my daughter was out!(That’s after being in labor with my first one for 36 hours and pushing for an hour!) Sad that he’s no longer practicing but I believe his wife, Dr. Beisner, still is. She gets the same kudos.

It was 12 years ago when he delivered my son. He was opinionated and a bit of a control freak. I was 26 and not as bold as I am now. He was more than willing to take charge and have everything done the way he wanted. Maybe he’s mellowed with age???
