I am being conservative with the stars here and will go back a second time to experience a broader spectrum of dishes. The menu is enticing, the beer selection excellent and they have done an amazing job transforming the old Rattlesnake into an appealing, open space. I do wish that the fireplace were not quite so fake, but at least it is an inviting place to sit. Unless the line gets long, then you have people brushing right your comfy armchair, It will be fun to sit outdoors here in warm weather. We both had savory crêpe meals. Mine had shrimp, pesto, mozzarella, tomatoes and roasted peppers. Heavy on the olive oil, and it could have been warmer, but it was nonetheless tasty-with a generous amount of shrimp. The crêpe was slightly dry, but a valiant effort. The portion was huge. The fresh slaw with it was very good. The proprietor is very friendly and patiently explained the menu. The coffee is good(friend had a latte). We were too full for dessert, and desserts are not homemade here. I bought a coconut cake slice to go for hubby and it was pretty darn good. I appreciate having a new place in town which desperately needs more international cuisine. So, at least there are crepes. Serving 3 meals a day– don’t know how they do it!

We’re driving through during the holiday weekend and found this place. I don’t know what the bad reviews are about this place is a great fast casual restaurant. First the building and décor are first class. I order a crêpe with chicken Americano and it was great the coffee tasted great. My wife ordered a quinoa bowl chicken spinocoli she was more then impressed with presentation and taste. My daughter had a bowl of Mac and cheese with chicken it came with a drink and was homemade. I stayed to have a craft beer when I was done. They had a great selection of local beers. Overall we had a great experience a great change from what I’ve seen in Southern Vermont for food experiences. We will definitely be back and would suggest this to anyone looking for good food at a good price.

Endless options for fresh, delicious food. There is something for everyone. You can customize your order to anything imaginable! Warm and inviting atmosphere and great prices! This is my go to spot in Bennington.

Just had a meal at Two Brews Café, this had to be the best cheddar broccoli soup ever! Full of flavor and texture. the Panini was very good too! I didn’t really know what to expect after reading a couple of so-so reviews, but now am certain I would go back. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is beautiful too, with music playing and a gas fireplace going… can’t wait to go try one of their crepes for breakfast.

While this place is still new, my two visits so far have been great. Simple, light menu. If you don’t understand something, just ask. For example, is the quinoa bowl hot or cold? Just ask, you can have it either way. I had the americano as a panini my first visit and the daily salad side was a pasta. Just returned from my second visit and the rattlesnake Ranchero wrap was UHmazing! Nice, spicy dressing, daily side salad was a quinoa with lots of veggies and beans. Nice atmosphere, I should have asked what Pandora station they were streaming. Can’t wait to try the crepes sometime.

I was really excited to try this new establishment in Bennington, and I purposely waited a few months after they opened to let them work out any kinks. A friend and I visited tonight, the night before Christmas eve, when a lot of places are super busy. At 8:15pm, we were the only people in the restaurant. There were two employees on board — a young man and a young woman who appeared to be either still in their adolescence, or in their very early twenties. Both were very friendly and helpful when it came to navigating the menu and drink choices. We made our choices, paid, and sat down in the gorgeous dining room. In just a few moments, my friend’s meal was ready. After taking one bite, she looked puzzled and disappointed. Her meal(a rice bowl with bacon, cheddar, and chicken) was cold and had no cheddar. She brought the bowl up to the counter and asked the young man to microwave it for her. He did so, apologetically. While this was happening, my friend asked about a side salad that was supposed to be served with the meal and was told that salads were only served with sandwiches. A few minutes later, I received the meal that I had ordered(a rice bowl with Rattlesnake Ranchero. I also ordered a glass of Pinot Noir, but was told as I received my meal that they were out of it and the only other wine they had available was a Pinot Gris) Once again, the rice was cold. The rice was also crunchy. The young man behind the counter asked if I wanted him to microwave my meal, but I declined, seeing as it was topped with sour cream, pico de gallo, and avocado. The chipotle sour cream that topped this cold and crunchy mess was delicious, I must admit, and I am certain that if this dish was properly executed, it would have been superb. When it came time to leave, we brought our dishes up to the counter and lodged our criticisms. The lovely young man immediately apologized and asked if we would like gift certificates to make up for our disappointing meals. His immediate reaction was telling. He’d obviously had to make this offer a few times. We politely declined. Bottom line: The décor in this restaurant is beautiful. The menu is a sound concept. Sadly, the two don’t seem to go together. The décor is perfect for an intimate gourmet eatery. The menu is more food truck fare. I would absolutely love to sit in this gorgeous dining room with friends and have a lovely dinner and drinks. Unfortunately, I don’t think this is going to happen.

I am torn between a two and a three… they are in a soft opening so I’ll go back a few more times and adjust accordingly. The fact that Jody B left a 5 star made up my mind to balance the Unilocal review and keep it fair. I think it’s interesting that she only has one review. And that she lives in CT. The owners are from Bennington and Connecticut. Just sayin’. I have been in twice and I think that with some work, this could become a Bennington staple. It would have been nice to have something different — we’ve got coffee houses that serve alcohol. But it’s here and while it would have been nice to see something more akin to The Rattlesnake, this is what we got. My husband and I came in the first time for breakfast and they were clearly not ready to be open. I had a bacon egg and cheese on a baguette, though, and it was AWESOME. Like one of the best breakfast sandwiches ever. My husband got a lunch sandwich, the soprano as a panini and it was not made correctly. The guy in the kitchen making it should have been fired on the spot for the way he yelled at me when I nicely asked him for roasted red peppers. I asked for them and he yelled, «I PUTTHEMONTHERE!» despite the fact that he did not. Also, I didn’t complain. Just asked for them. He embarrassed himself and the owners — several people said things to my husband and I about this and word around town is I’m not the only one. One of the owners came up to me far after the fact and said she would speak to him but, honestly, that’s ridiculous. He should have been sent home. Immediately. And likely fired. But my sandwich was good. The menu IS tiny and hard to decipher. The coffee is really good. I actually like the order/pager type service because it’s more casual and this is definitely a casual spot. And the décor is gorgeous — but I’m not one to fall for looks. Tonight I went in for take out dinner. I didn’t want anything too heavy so this made sense. And I prefer the local guy to chains like Subway. The staff working tonight was way friendlier although there was a girl hanging out who may have been the girlfriend of a staff member — they were hanging out chit chatting and that just seemed a little weird considering he was working in the kitchen(or not working in the kitchen). I had the spinoccoli over pasta. The pasta was perfectly al dente and whatever type it is is the perfect shape. It has spinach, broccoli, vt cheddar and a maple vinaigrette. I got creole chicken as my protein and the chicken was just chicken, no creole, and it was REALLY dry. Now, I happen to like my chicken a little on the drier side but this was like, «sitting in a chafing dish all day» dry and I’m sure others would not like it. I added a little Parmesan, black pepper, red pepper flakes and a tiny bit of salt but I’m glad that I could season it myself AND that the food here is not over salted like at so many other places. I’ll come back another time or two and update my review and hope that after some more practice they get things running more smoothly so that there is no more need for fake reviews. I mean, at least pay someone on to fake it instead of making it so obvious!

The décor is really lovely and they clearly put a lot of effort into it and it shows. The menu above the counter is so small I couldn’t read it. I hate to trash them since they just opened and are clearly working out the kinks, but we went for breakfast and it was terrible. As soon as I got to the counter, the girl behind the counter was trying to call the manager who wasn’t there for printout paper. So no credit cards. Lucky we had cash. It was clear that the three people working were over their heads and just trying to get by. I don’t blame them. Where was the manager? It took over ten minutes for the girl to take our order and then twenty minutes later we got two orders and she had to come out and ask us again what we wanted for the remaining three. The first two orders had weird steamed hockey puck eggs and we’re cold. The next had real fried eggs. The rancheros had avocados that crunched when you bit them. They were three weeks away from being ripe. The coffee that was left was warm, and then ran out. The only redeeming part of the meal was the great, sharp cheddar on the sandwiches. But it was cold, not melted. What a disaster. The girl felt bad and brought us a cookie to say sorry. It was stale. Won’t return.

Nice atmosphere. Decent beer selection. Food was great, just a little pricy for the portions and lack of service.(It’s a counter and pager set up, like panera) I think they are dealing with normal start up process issues(they are keeping beer under the food prep table). Ordering was a little confusing, but I like the flexibly of what you can order. I will come back as they get some more days under their belt.
