Went to the breakfast buffet today. It was the worst. 1 star is over rating. Price with card $ 4.99 — the buffet consists of Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, Bacon & Ham, Creamed Chipped Beef, Potatoes with onions & peppers(a lot of grease), something else the sie of a small crab cake with spinach on top, danish & muffins and fresh fruit in a bowl with prongs that can only pick up about 2 cantaloupe cubes or 1 cube &1 grape. No pancakes, waffles. Bread had to be ordered from server, beverages like juice or coffee $ 1.50 extra. My comment about the food would be the same if it was FREE… Chickie & Petes is good and PARXGRILL is EXCELLENT! Sorry to have such negative things to say about Café Parx. but it was terrible.

The newest restaurant to hit the Parx Casino scene is Café Parx, located right next to Foodies, which is more of a grab and go type of place and was doing a lot more business. I can see when at the casino folks do not want to take the time for a leisurely lunch or dinner. We were one of three tables in two large dining rooms and the service was quite slow. Giddyup little girl! One appetizer caught my eye and for the sake of Unilocal I ordered the beer and crab dip served over a soft pretzel, except they were out of pretzels and suggested I have the dip on fries instead, which actually sounded better to me. They came out lukewarm and needed fried a bit more to be crunchy, there was plenty of crab meat but I believe the dish was sitting too long in the kitchen as all the thick sauce had filtered through the fries and ended up under the pile of fries. However with that said, I do recommend them, if served hot and crispy, because there was plenty of crab meat and they give crab fries a whole new meaning.(you have to understand that Chickies & Pete’s are famous here for their crab fries, which have no crab, but seasonings and a cheese sauce). Oh and toss those babies to get all of the sauce. Hubby had a cheeseburger, hand formed, which was $ 9.00 but only allowed two toppings, each extra topping is another fifty cents, so if you want lettuce, tomato and onions, you will pay for the third topping and beyond. He did like his cheeseburger, I snitched a bite and the charbroiled flavor came through and it was tasty. You have a choice of four different rolls and he chose«just a normal hamburger bun», however this was no normal bun, definitely made in house or by a local baker. I had the fish and chips, what else, I see these on a menu and my mind is made up. Two very thick and meaty pieces of cod, English style batter dipped, were crunchy, filling and delightful. The fries needed to be fried more and were barely warm and the coleslaw is one tablespoon full served in a ramekin and I wished I had more because I enjoyed that one bite. Their menu is quite diversified with all day breakfast selections such as eggs benedict, egg platters with meat and omelets. They have an array of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entreess, so there is certainly something for every one. I loved the décor, from the walls to the decorated ceilings and the lighting was superb as it is throughout the casino and they have spared no expense when it comes to their lighting fixtures. I had a full glass of chardonnay, which was very good and only $ 5.00, they also have root beer, black cherry or orange floats, which I would love to try alone, since things like that fill me fast. Imported beers are five bucks, domestic beers are four bucks. I would go back. Note: Hours are short, closed Mondays and Tuesdays, only open until 4 the rest of the week, opens at 10“00am Wednesday through Friday and opens at 8:00am on Saturdays and Sundays with a breakfast buffet.
