This place had great sushi. I had the Tina roll and the surf roll. My wife had the pink lady roll and spicy dancing prawn and a Kani salad. Kani salad was fresh and it was on a bed of lettuce. The pink lady roll was Superior because of its lack of seaweed and the spicy dancing prawn roll was nice with two kinds of shrimp. The second best thing about this restaurant what was the price of the sushi. Being from New York I know everything is overpriced but this is more than affordable. The store did however charge 150 for a small dish of spicy mayo. I went ahead and discounted it they’re too especially since no one notified me there was a charge. Service was okay.

I’ve been going to Sakura for so many years, and have visited at least 6 times in the past year. Service is so so but it gets the job done, especially good if you go on week days or whenever it’s not super busy. The food also comes out super fast, so i recommend avoiding Friday and Saturday night crowds if you want the best first experience. Sushi: if you’re a sushi fanatic then you will notice that the fish isn’t the freshest, and the rolls are mediocre(e.g. Sometimes bad fish to rice ratio) BUT for the prices on the 50% menu, the traditional rolls are really worth it. $ 2.5-$ 3 for salmon, tuna, eel, yelllowtail rolls, sushi, sashimi, etc. you can’t beat that. I’ve tried several of their speciality rolls but none of them stood out to me so I don’t really remember what they were. Most speciality rolls as I recall were too bulky and felt like they were just trying to pack a bunch of different ingredients into a roll and hoping it works; the flavors don’t really go well together. So my final thoughts are: Sakura offers decent food for a great price(you get what you pay for, sometimes better). You won’t find traditional sushi this cheap anywhere else. Don’t try too many specialty rolls, keep it simple. Appetizers aren’t bad either so give those a try(e.g. Huge Takoyaki). And ALWAYS get dessert! Either the fried cheesecake or the fried icecream, I love both.

Terrible. A step above gas station sushi and a step below Shogun across the street. I’m done with both places.

Great place for eating Sushi & the food is always fresh. However a precautionary note you should Avoid Fri & Sat. night crowds which back up prompt service.

Sakura is very clean and has always been consistent. The service is always great as well. We stopped in tonight after a busy fun filled day. I ordered three rolls, I love the fact it doesn’t take forever. There are other places that take forever to get the sushi to you. Tonight I ordered the Miami roll, dancing prawn roll and the vegetable roll. Wow! They were all delicious and fresh! My wife ordered the homerun and Bensalem roll. Both very good as well. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Always fresh food and at great prices. We will be back!

One of the most uninspired katsu dons I’ve ever had. There was a grand total of 4 flimsy pork slices. I basically paid 12 bucks for a bowl of rice mixed with runny egg yolk. No sauce, no napkins, no salt/pepper/any condiments on the table and disappointingly no flavor in the food. Do yourself a favor and find another japanese place for dinner.

Love the food… very fresh. The wait staff? Not very friendly or social. At times, they are so rude it makes us uncomfortable.

Solid sushi for a small suburb spot. Some of the dishes are really tasty and the rolls are as well. They don’t skimp on the selections on the 50% menu. However a lot of the tuna and salmon rolls like the«spicy» ones clearly have a mixture of less desirable cuts and end leftover trimmings from the sashimi cuts blended together almost like a tuna/salmon salad minus the mayo. My major compliant with Sakura is everything takes a real long time. If you call for pickup and they say 15 – 20 mins and you arrive in that window you should expect to wait a while. During rush times pickup can take 45 mins. Definitely need to speed that up. Overall I recommend.

Loved the 50% sushi! My mom brought me here for dinner and the sushi was very fresh and creative! The menu is huge! There’s so much selection and everything has some interesting twist to the rolls. The ambiance of the restaurant was good, both could be casual with friends and family or for a more intimate date setting. The sushi was great!

This my go to sushi spot. Sometimes it is so packed you can’t find good parking & the inside is so loud. I guess it depends on the time of day bc there were times it was early maybe 3pm & it wasn’t so bad. I highly recommend the Spicy Girl roll & ask for a side of spicy mayo. Also their Crazy Friday is my favorite. They have half price sushi so it is great taking my kids. It’s a BYOB. My daughter loves the Strawberry Japanese soda. Only bad thing was one waitress argued with my cousin saying that she ordered the avocado roll when my cousin did not. The waitress insisted that she ordered it, stating she repeated the order. I just said it’s fine. What is the point in fighting over a $ 2 roll that was blah??? That is the only reason I am giving this 4 stars. Other than that one instance, the service is always impeccable. I will continue to frequent this establishment.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Sakura a few weeks ago. It was an eye opening experience for me. For example, I learned this about myself: I, literally, do not need anything else from a restaurant besides a ginormous 50% off sushi menu and the allowance to bring 7 bottles of wine and even homemade sangria to dinner. Do I need to write anything else? In case I do, I’ll write this. The menu is surprisingly large. Like, wayy too large for someone to read when they have 7 bottles of wine to consume. Luckily, I went to dinner with 3 friends and asked them to order for me so that I could enjoy my wine. Unfortunately, this means I have nearly no idea what I ate. It was a mixture of simple rolls and specialty rolls. Everything was good, nothing was mind blowing. There was one stand out roll that was deep fried and had cream cheese, and that sentence sounds disgusting when I type it out, but man it was super delicious. The service was super minimal. The waitresses seem to work together, serving the restaurant. One will take your order, someone else will get you drink refills, someone else will get you whatever else need. No one, unfortunately, will ask you what you need. You will have to flag a server down in order to get something else besides your order taken at the beginning of the meal. This was no problem for me, as I was here to hang out with my friends, and did I mention the 7 bottles of wine yet? Parking is a breeze, and Sakura is fairly easy to spot from the road as well. The space was fine, if a little small inside. Really the only thing keeping this review from 5 stars is that I simply was not blown away by the food. It was good, but not 5 stars amazing. I would definitely go back though. Perhaps I should only bring 4 bottles of wine next time.

I usually just get my sushi to go so I can’t comment on dinning service but this place has the best sushi around! They have a half price menu so you can feed a party of 4 for less than $ 20. Every sushi I’ve had has been amazing and extremely fresh. Pick up is usually ready in around 20 minutes too. This is my number one dinner spot when my husband is away on business trips. Highly recommend.

I found this little gem of a half price sushi place about a year ago and now it’s my go to sushi spot. I even had my birthday dinner there this year. Everyone thought there was a mistake when the bills came out and they were so low. The sushi is delicious and I never leave dissapointed. I love the crazy Friday roll, Godzilla, and spicy mango tuna, but I’ve honestly never gotten a roll there I didn’t like. It’s also Byob which is always a wonderful plus. Highly recommend!

My friend and I went to the one in Bensalem. The service was horrendous. We waited around 25 minutes for our entrees. No one came over to give us a refill on our drinks, no one came over to explain why it was 25 minutes for two rolls and a sashimi platter. A table of four was served their food before us, and the next two tables. When the waitress did come over, my friend asked was there any reason behind why it took so long. Her answer? «Oh, it just takes a long time.» — I worked in the industry for five years. Her rude answer alone made my blood boil, do not insult us by lying to our faces. People make mistakes — own up to them, rather than giving us a BS answer. No one came to us, simply to apologizing for the mix up. They avoided our table, fully knowing well they were in the wrong, only until after our entrees came out. Thanks, Sakura for the amazing night.

I went to this location for the first time 3 weeks ago and fell in love with the sushi. So much so that I went back again a week later for more. Great little place, not long of a wait the first time(it’s a good sign when a place is busy on a Monday night), and no wait the second time. My absolute favorite has to be the Buffalo Roll and then the Black Angel Roll. Even my 9 year old was open to trying all the delicious rolls in front of him. Service was great and we brought our own wine and glasses were provided immediately along with water.

The food was great, that is why 2 stars, not one. No one met us. We stand there for 5 min. Waitresses were coming back and force, we were invisible for them. Next thing was almost angry waitress. She was not rude, but not welcoming at all. Next thing was a hair on a plate. I asked to change it. She took the plate, turned around, removed the hair from the plate and gave it back to my mom. I was shocked. We did not eat from that plate of course.

I usually order from Shogun which is literally across the street. However, on the day I was craving sushi, Shogun’s shopping plaza was apparently out of power. Time for plan B: Sakura. I ordered the Sushi Sashimi lunch special. I noticed there are different combinations of lunch specials between Shogun and Sakura, which I definitely will check next time I am ordering. They are also about the same price. The order was ready when the woman on the phone said it would be. About 15 – 20 mins. I didn’t have any problems. As far as the sushi goes, it was fresh and good. I wish I was given a little bit more wasabi and ginger with my order, but I tend to over do it with those two. Sakura has a smaller parking lot, and isn’t as welcoming as Shogun. Although the building is separate(unlike a place on a shopping strip), so it might be better as far as a classier atmosphere. I do think Sakura staff could suffer to be a bit more friendly, but I really had minimal contact ordering takeout than a eat-in customer would have. I will definitely have to keep ordering from both Shogun and Sakura so I can pick a favorite!

I wish I lived closer. I went here back in April for a friend’s birthday. If you blink you might drive right past it. But it’s worth turning around for. It’s a byob sushi place in Bensalem. They have incredibly cheap prices, a 50% off sushi menu everyday. Service is ok, which is the reason for the 4 stars. It’s not bad, but could be friendlier and a bit more attentive. On my last visit my husband and I ordered 6 rolls and it was under $ 25. We had a dragon roll, Christmas roll, Godzilla roll, spicy crunchy tuna, eel and cucumber, and a shrimp tempura. All great. My only complaint is there is wasabi in the Christmas roll that isn’t mentioned on the menu. And I hate wasabi. Everything else was great and there are plenty of places to pick up beer or wine on the way. As I said, I wish I lived closer. But my waist line thanks me.

50 percent off sushi all day every day! Whenever someone mentions sushi, this is my spot to go to. It’s cheap and it’s good. I’m not a big raw person, so I tend to stick with mostly shrimp rolls. My favorite items on the 50% off menu is the Black Angel Roll, Out of Control Roll, and the spicy dancing prawn roll. All of these rolls have tempura shrimp in it and made slightly different from one another(either sauces or other stuffings). The other items I order and love are: Beef Yaki Udon Noodles — this isn’t exactly on the menu, but they never have a problem making it for me. Kani Salad — kani is crab if anyone doesn’t know. This crab salad is amazing. Flavored perfectly and not too creamy because they don’t use so much mayo. They do get very busy here, so if you can, come during an off peak time. Service can be slow at times, but especially during rush lunch or dinner. Overall: If you like good sushi(raw or cooked) and don’t have a huge budget, this is your go to place.
