Awesome food and staff. Ordered the chips with queso, enchilada, chimichanga, and quesidillas. Ended with a churro desert. Quality of the food was great and it was fast. Tried one of the«sissy» hot sauces and it was a sweet chilli sauce. I would greatly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area.

Tajina Flats is a great place for a quality taco in a fast food setting. They could have gotten another star but they ran out of guacamole.

I always get the tijuana burrito and I really enjoy that they have all these powerlite options for conscious eaters like myself. Sauce selection is on point. I always bring my coworkers here when I’m around the area. Service is great and staff are always friendly.

After ordering my meal and having it repeated back to me multiple times, its was still wrong. Food was cold, and 2 meals that were ordered exactly the same way, came differently. One with chips and one with beans and rice. Never again. Usually had good experiences, but the past 3 times have been terrible.

One sentence review: crappy food, crappier service. Now if you want my full review: I haven’t written a review in 2 years and had to reset my password just to leave a review. It was that bad of an experience. I went once before, shortly after the restaurant opened, and had an ok experience(overpriced fast food style Mexican food). But this time — First, I had a buy one get one free entertainment book coupon. They said they couldn’t honor it because«they weren’t supposed to be printed in the book». So let me get this right… you won’t take the coupon you made, that you opted into the entertainment book, and that you know neighborhood kids fundraise by selling? I should have left then. A place with that bad of customer service that hasn’t closed yet you would assume has amazing food — wrong. I had a «steak» burrito bowl that even my dog would mistake for steak. It was chewy bland cold meat product on rice with more beans than anything else. My friend got a chicken burrito that was a decent Taco Bell imitation except it was like $ 8 and came with super stale chips. Overall just a bad experience. With a chipotle in town I can only assume this place will eventually change or go out of business.

Tijuana flats is our favorite local Tex-Mex restaurant! The food is ALWAYS delicious and the service is equally as friendly and helpful. Their salsa, queso and guacamole is always tasty and their chips are crunchy and delicious. I would imagine all of their food is good but we recommend the tacos, enchiladas or chimichanga! We came across Tijuana Flats driving down street road one day and has been our go-to spot for Tex-Mex ever since. PS: They have an awesome hot sauce bar as well with sweet to super hot sauces that are fun to try — if you’re the adventurous type.

Amazing service. The staff went way above and beyond, and they were so friendly. I got a pick two, chimichanga and enchilada with the blackened chicken and both were so good! And the tostada(with some kind of special chicken) was absolutely delicious. Fairly priced. Amazing hot sauce bar. Worth a trip

YUM! This place has opened my mind to Tex-Mex food. I have had so many bad experiences with Mexican and Mexican fusion places in the past that I had avoided Mexican and Mexican fusion restaurants all together! But after reading the reviews and giving the genre another shot, I am glad to say that Tijuana Flats has become one of my new faves! The food is soo fresh and I’m not just saying that cause they advertise that, you can tell by the way it looks, smells and tastes! The dining room definitely has a fun goofy atmosphere, but new dining furniture would really set this place apart. The chairs and tables are barely up to a pizza joint’s standards and are therefore extremely uncomfortable, but the food is def. worth a try!

It is seriously ridiculous how much I love this place. Fast-casual concepts are just the way to go today. The days of casual dining are far-dwindling. Who has time for that? This place does a really great job of making sure you’re constantly taken care of, even though it’s a fast-casual concept. I grew up in Texas and after many failed attempts to fit in with their gross Tex Mex culture, I was miserable. I am a 100% Authentic Mexican food kinda gal, so if you are too, you’d hate Texas — I know, shocking. This place is hands down the best Tex Mex I’ve ever eaten — coming from a prior Texan and one who is typically not partial to chains. I highly recommend going on Tuesday for their two taco deal. They give you GIANT tacos, chips and drink for $ 4.99. Me and hubbs got two meals and a large side of queso for $ 11 and some change — What?!? We were legit full and trust me, I can eat. Any place with vast(and clean, might I add) self-serve taco sauce bar is my ultimate heaven.

Do you want the good news or the bad news first? Ok, the bad news: The salsa that came with my chips was just about the worst I’ve ever had. New York City?! I think this stuff was made in Old York, England! My local pizza shop’s pizza sauce«salsa» that comes with their poppers is better. The good news: The hot sauce bar is amazing! My favorites were the house habanero sauce and the vidalia onion one. More good news is the staff. They were very friendly in the ordering process and kept up with bussing the tables, etc. during a relatively busy lunch. Somewhere in between good news and bad news was the food itself. I had a chimichanga and it was just OK. Nothing special at all. If I find myself in the area again, I might give this place another chance if only to try more of the hot sauces.

I love this place. It’s awesome food for a low price. I like the system of ordering before you sit down, yet the staff still waits on you afterward. I’ve never had any bad food from here. One time, my wife, son, and I attacked the chips and queso like starving dogs. My usual favorite is the black bean chimichanga. Dessert is a surprising delight. I like the churros, but I LOVE the cookie dough flautas. Atmosphere is very cool.

Great service, fair prices, decent food. We were greeted at the door and given menus to look over before approaching the counter to place our order. The food came out fast. The hot sauce bar was fun and had some yummy sauces on it. The vegetarian burrito was pretty plain — beans, cheese, rice. No guacamole or sour cream. I think there were a few pieces of lettuce and tomato in there, but ‘few’ is the keyword. The chips and salsa were delicious, on the other hand, and we ended up ordering another side of chips to take home with us.

Service was friendly, and the hot sauce bar was good… but the actual food is par at best. To be honest, Chipotle is better than this. However, it’s a step above Taco Bell. Having lived in Los Angeles for 5 years, my standards of Spanish foods have elevated. Disappointed considering all of the other reviews.

Hello I was here a couple of months ago… all the reviews and the references. I am Mexican made. and this is not or should not be under Mexican food. was very disappointing with the menu and the food was more baja with american influence… the sauces are just water and chili blended together. no flavor or texture. wont be back or have I referred anyone here.

Awesome food. Awesome story. Awesome hot sauce. The method of ordering is a little clunky. When you walk in, look for menus. They are either on the wall where the line forms or on the front counter. Without a menu, you’ll unprepared when you get to the counter to order as there is no large display menu like you might expect. This particular location is in a shitty run down strip mall. You wouldn’t know that from the inside. The inside is bright and clean.

Tijuana Flats is a solid choice for Tex-Mex in the ‘burbs. I’ve been here probably a hundred times, but had yet to write a review. I know, I thought it was weird too. Anywho, hubby, SIL and I went last night for Taco Tuesdayz, which I had admittedly never tried before. All in all, it’s a great deal– 2 big ass tacos, chips and a drink for $ 4.99. It’s an extra dollar for carnitas and steak, but even with the upcharge it’s a great value. At TF, you order at the counter, seat yourself and the food is brought out to you. I usually use the interim time to check out their awesome hot sauce bar. They have a few staples that are always there, as well as a rotating selection for adventurous folk like me. This time I discovered an amazing curry hot sauce that really blew my mind. Anyone who even sort of likes Indian flavors would be as over the moon for this as I was. Sadly, I was not the only one who thought this, because when I tried to purchase a bottle to take home, they were out. Back to the food. I, of course, had to be super difficult with my ordering, as usual. I asked for 1 steak taco and 1 carnitas and an unsweetened iced tea with a splash of lemondade and 2 lemon wedges(I know, I know!). To my surprise, I didn’t receive even an ounce of hesitation, no eye-roll, only extreme enthusiasm to satisfy my every whim. I really appreciate service like this. Everything at TF is very fresh and made to order. That being said, the food still comes out super fast. I enjoyed the carnitas probably as much as any other carnitas I’ve had, but the steak taco was really the more memorable of the two. I’m always hesitant to order steak in a taco or burrito because it’s often tough and not the best quality meat. This however, was excellent. I could tell the meat was marinated, and it was nice and tender and properly sliced– you’d be surprised how many establishments shoot themselves in the foot by not slicing their steak properly, resulting in an unnecessarily tough product. I enjoy the toppings very much too– diced tomatoes, onions, 50⁄50 cheese, black olives and fresh jalapenos. This is a great place to go if you are looking for an affordable, delicious meal. Don’t forget to tip the servers– they work really hard even if they are not taking your order at the table. Also, this place is BYOB too! The hours are great, so there’s really no excuse to not check it out. Next time you’re at Parx, don’t eat the crappy food they have in the casino. Drive the two minutes down the road and have something fresh and delicious for dinner.

Sometimes I think hype can ruin your opinion before it has a chance to form properly… I’d been hearing so much about Tijuana Flats for so long that I was practically desperate to go here by the time I finally arrived! …And it was okay! The service was friendly, the food came out pretty fast, the place looked pretty clean… but I guess we were there early on a Friday evening and it was pretty quiet, and we didn’t bring any booze… so… Maybe I need to go more exotic in my next order. We got handmade chips & queso and it wasn’t anything special, and my Dos Tacos plate was good.(I really appreciated that I was allowed to mix it up and have one soft taco and one hard taco!) but I feel like it didn’t feel all that authentic — unless you went crazy with their very fun-looking hot sauce bar. I’d ABSOLUTELY eat here again, in particular if someone suggests going back to On the Border… The prices alone and the lack of waiting make it that much better. I think we just need to bring something to drink and perhaps arrive when it’s a little more lively.

The staff is always friendly and attentive. The food is fantastic and fresh. Food comes out quickly, too. Love the queso, like the guacamole. Salsa is good. Fantastic selection of a variety of heats of hot sauce. Love the protein options; blackened chicken being my fave. You cannot go wrong with the Cookie Dough Flautas. Seriously good! Will continue to visit again and again. Oh, did I mention crushed ice and Coca Cola products? Yes!!!

Hubby was jonesing for Mexican and we were going to be in the area and Groupon Now had a deal(that really wasn’t much of deal — I think if we ordered everything we got regularly it would have been about the same price.) so somehow we ended up here last weekend. The décor is really cute — huge murals of comic bookish characters all over the walls and cheerful little colorful lights make it feel festive. You order then they bring it to your table. I was happily surprised to see on the table they had info regarding the types of ingredients they used(i.e. hormone free chicken). That is actually a huge selling point to me and they should highlight it — I wish I had the info before I ordered, I probably would have gotten something different. We got chips and guacamole for our appetizer — the chips were nice and the guac *looked* really great but somehow didn’t taste fresh, it tasted like it came out of a giant tub from HQ. I guess having many sauces is cool for some people — it really didn’t do much for me except make me bewildered and overwhelmed about which to try. The paper cups they have to put them in were annoyingly small, too tiny to dip a chip in really. My fish tacos were ok; actually almost every component was very good — nice fresh tacos, crisp cabbage and tasty tomatoes. Unfortunately the actual fish was really lacking — obviously previously frozen and just a shade away from slimy and I didn’t like the nasty blackening spice they used at all — I didn’t even ask for it to be blackened, I thought I was just getting grilled fish. The accompanying small puddle of super soupy refried beans and the too spicy rice were most uninspiring. The staff was friendly and excellent — we got welcomed when we came in and someone passed through the room frequently asking if we wanted refills on our drinks. The acoustics in the room are bad, there was a large noisy party that really highlighted it. If I was in the area and in the mood for Mexican I might pop in here again.
