After a rough night drinkin’ that Turkey Water I stumbled in on this place. Let me tell you, it done straightened me nice and right… Can’t go wrong with the Cowboy Scramble. And the gravy, oh the gravy is tasty! I’m taking off the shit kickers for this one. The smile in sweet Catherine’s eyes really melted my butter.

Hands down, the best breakfast place I went to during my trip in Arizona. The Campfire Breakfast is divine and I crave it everyday from Cali! Portion sizes are huge, but makes for a very hearty meal and/or extras to take home(no one’s complaining). Can’t wait to get a chance to go again :)

Our family was visiting Kartchner Caverns on February 9, 2016 and we were very hungry after our tour. This restaurant was highly recommended, so my family and I gave it a try. We arrived around 7:00pm and were seated promptly. Our waitress was very nice and the high point of our visit. My husband and I ordered margaritas and chimichangas, our kids ordered cheese enchiladas. When we received our drinks, they were ridiculously sweet. The main taste was heavily concentrated, syrupy margarita mix. The only way we could even tell their was tequila in the drink was from smelling it. It was the first time that we had ever returned margaritas anywhere. Our food was brought out promptly. The first cut my daughter made into her enchiladas oozed grease. We told her it was from the cheese and to give them a try. After two bites she stopped eating. Important fact, our daughter is twenty-two, not a finicky child. The spanish rice that we all received with our meals was incredibly bland as if we were eating cardboard. We did our best to doctor it up with salt and salsa. It was honestly the worst spanish rice I have ever tasted. I didn’t eat it. My daughter returned her food, and had an upset stomach. She was unable to eat anything else from that point forward. We felt so bad about returning the drinks and my daughters dinner, that we didn’t even mention how bad the rice was. Soon after, my son the non-complaining eating machine returned his food as well. Our son is twenty-one years old, not a finicky child. He then opted for an avocado bacon cheeseburger in lieu of the enchiladas. Even though they forgot the avocado, he simply wanted to eat, and was unwilling to speak of the missing avocado even though it is one of his favorite foods. He simply wanted the ‘dining experience’ to end. The sirloin in our chimichangas was good, even though the sauce tasted as though it was from a can. It struck me that this restaurant specialized in steaks, burgers, and biscuits, not Mexican food. Throughout dinner our waitress was very nice and apologetic. When we were given the bill, my husband noticed that the margaritas were properly removed but we were still being charged for the enchilada dinners and our son’s cheeseburger. If they had eaten half or more of their dinners, we would have understood and paid for them. They barely touched the meals they returned. It made no sense to us why they would still be on our bill. The absolute worst part of this horrible dining experience was trying to clear this up with the manager. When we asked her why we were still being charged for the enchiladas, she smugly replied that«There was nothing wrong with them.» Apologies, I thought the customer was supposed to be satisfied. She then asked us if we were locals and when we replied no she proceeded to tell us that no one had ever complained about them before. We explained to her that they were inedible. She then angrily said«Fine, I’ll take them off,» and stormed into the kitchen we were seated right outside of. We could then hear her angrily complaining to our waitress just on the other side of the wall where we were seated. If passing through Benson, you must form your own opinions of this restaurant. As for us, they will NEVER see our business again.

Great value, generous portions! Biscuits and Gravy are great for breakfast. The biscuits are home made and HUGE smothered in luscious white gravy. Omelets never disappoint. Home potatoes are tasty with grilled onions and peppers in them. For lunch, the Mushroom Swiss Burgers are juicy and hot. Side order of Chili Cheese fries have generous portion of cheese and chili. You can have them as a meal in itself. This place cost the same as the other local diners but you get generous portions and it’s tasty! I come here at least once a week.

Yummy food and baked goods. Off the beaten track but worthy of finding if passing through Benson AZ. Local color… Boots and spurs around us. Hamburgers, salads, home make soups, fried chicken, pastrami and corned beef sandwiches are just a sampling of what is on the menu. Give it a try.

On Sunday they offer prime rib and eggs which is fabulous! For lunch I would recommend their Club Sandwich, in 46 years I have only found one better, the Commerce Club at the U.S. Dept. of Commerce cafeteria in D.C., but that one was subsidized. The Biscuits and Gravy are tremendous!

I continue to be impressed with the quality eats out here in Benson. I was hesitant on this place at first, but they truly shined! The corn chowder, guacamole, ribs, and salads were all delux — between my wife and I we still has to carry out a half rack of the ribs and half the fries they came with. Good stuff! Definitely a worthy stop!

Stopped in on my way to Chiricahua National Monument. The service was friendly and the food came out very quickly. I went with the Campfire Breakfast. This was a very good, flaky biscuit topped with sausage, hashbrown potatoes, two eggs cooked your way(I went with over easy), covered with very tasty homemade gravy. I will have to say that I am a fan.

I live in Benson and I go here every time my parents come from CA to visit. The food is always so good and the service is phenomenal! My dad never wants to eat anywhere else when he is in town! I have never had a bad experience with the food or staff. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who comes through town.

My husband and I stopped in on our way to Apple Annies Orchard. We were greeted quickly and seated just as fast. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was a very chill atmosphere. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. I had the veggie omelet and hubby had the baja. YUM! If you are looking for a cute breakfast spot I recommend stopping in for sure!

The chicken fried steak is amazing! I chose mashed potatoes as my side and you can tell they are homemade… none of the powder box stuff. The country gravy was also flavorful. Worth the trip from Tucson!

Menu was pretty overwhelming to me. Waited awhile to get my order in. When I finally received my food it wasn’t what I had hoped for. I got a chicken wrap and sweet potato fries, fries good, wrap not so much. Tomatoes were soggy and chicken had an odd flavor. Maybe just a bad choice but friendly atmosphere.

I’m a local who visits there often. I LOVE their Cobb Salad, which has lots of goodies on it with no skimping on the bleu cheese(and their bleu cheese dressing tastes homemade). Their Mexican food is really good; I especially like the Nachos. And you cannot go wrong with their breakfasts… ever! They even have the option of using Egg Beaters, if you are cholesterol conscious.

When I first entered the place I was a little off put by the décor. It is generally a western theme but seriously dated. All of that went away once the wait staff said hello. The ladies were all very friendly. The well magarita was sufficiently tasty. I ordered a bacon avocado burger and it was excellent. I will come here again.

If you leave this place hungry, I’d be very surprised! Best breakfast around the area! Huge servings of food! We order one meal with an extra plate and share! We had all you could eat fish for lunch and it was very good! They have the best pico de gallo I have ever tried!

This place was a bit disappointing. The staff was friendly. We were greeted right away and seated. We got there before the dinner rush and there were only a few tables in the restaurant. The gentleman got our drinks right away and after that we were on our own. It took the waitress a while to take our order. The sampler platter was large and pretty tasty. The rest of our food was mediocre. Be careful if you order a salad with your meal, because I didn’t get mine. I didn’t even bother to remind the waitress and she didn’t notice. Like I said, the staff is friendly and did check on us. I guess it would’ve been nice if they were more aware. I found it a bit awkward that we seemed to have multiple waitresses, no wonder my salad slipped through the cracks. Yet my meal had no side on the plate so that kinda should have been a sign. The final disappointing part if our visit was the fact that I wanted a piece of pie, but we weren’t asked if we wanted dessert. Instead she placed the bill on the table. So my boyfriend just asked the girl at the front desk to add on a slice. I have a sweet tooth and was looking forward to the Banana Cream Pie. I dug in at home, and I wasn’t impressed. It reminded me of banana pudding and was a little too sweet. Since there isn’t much here, we will be back to visit. I guess I’ll have to try the Chocolate Cream Pie next time.

Had a little wait, but that was because they were packed. This was on a Monday night. The wait was worth it. Service and food were excellent. Portions were large enough, that we all took food home. Definitely will return.

Nice bit of history, love the black and white photos of this place from the 40’s. Hubby ordered the Eggs Benedict and it was over cooked. Should be able to cut into the egg and have the yolks run. Not the case, the yolks were hard. The ham was thinly sliced and fried like spam. Would not order again. The fruit bowl that came with the meal was good. I ordered the Cowboy Scramble which came filled with onions, peppers, nice chunks of ham and covered in cheese. It was served with country potatoes, very crispy, I prefer the softer. It was okay. Big enough portions to split for two. My meal came with bisquits and gravy. A HUGEHOMEMADEBISQUITTHATWASBAKEDPERFECTLYANDTHEGRAVYWASWELLSEASONED. Great bisquits and gravy. In summary, if we were passing thru again, would try another restaurant before coming back unless I was craving bisquits and gravy :)
