Wild Dogs

Driving back from TX to home in CA, we saw this place while looking for a lunch spot (online) and thought we’d give it a try (supporting the local economy — woo!).
The food is great, the price is great and we will definitely stop by again on our next roadtrip.
We had a Sonora dog, a chili dog, a pastrami dog, a Chicago dog, tater tots, onion rings, chili cheese fries, and brownies (6 people on this trip).
The onion rings are really really good and do not taste like any we’ve had before. It’s a light batter, not too heavy and just really good!
Couldn’t pick a favorite dog. we enjoyed them all and they are big so it was hard to finish everything (you won’t leave hungry).
Annnnnd~ unlike some of the restaurants we’ve tried while passing through the southern western States, we still feel pretty good after eating it (no emergency bathroom visits).
Will definitely be back!

Very good food and the sweet owners took very good care of my family. I would definitely recommend this place and hope to be back.

The excellent reviews led us to wild dogs. We were driving through Arizona on our way to Texas.
The pastrami and brisket were amazing, super moist. The fries and onion rings were piping hot when we got them. The Sonoran dog was good, but as other reviewers have noted they were a little different than the traditional Sonoran dog. The biggest hit in our family was the pastrami dog and the brisket sandwich.
The Rocky Road Brownie was excellent. They bring it to you a little on the cold side, let it get to room temperature before you eat it, you will not be disappointed.
The service was top notch and deserved more than five stars, but that is the most I can give. Keep up the good work Wild Dogs, we will see you on our way back.

I always try to make it to Benson in time for them to be open when travelling through the area. The couple that own and operate this place are truely blessed. The food is top notch for hot dogs, fries, burgers and their specials. Such a treat to eat!!! If you are in the area or passing through, definitely stop here for a bite. Great Value for Great food!!!

Our favorite restaurant in Benson! The food is so good! Great hotdog’s & sides. Service is great & everyone there is always very nice. The restaurant is clean & well organized. Anytime we have out of town guests, this is a «must go» place to eat. It’s so nice to have a nice, laid back place with excellent food and service just a few miles from our home.

Wait was a little long but worth it. I just had a baked potato with guacamole and onion rings but my friends all had had great dogs! Owners are fantastic! Fun spot to stop by going through town

Stopped for lunch on the way to Tucson; chose based on Unilocal recommendations. It’s just a little food trailer that has expanded to encompass a quaint and comfortable eating area with TV, heating and air. One unisex bathroom behind the establishment afforded privacy and was surprisingly clean and stocked. My family had a variety of items off the expansive menu — cheeseburger, corn dog, baked potato, curly fries and Reuben hot dog. All home-​made and tasty. The gentleman running the place did it all himself– with a smile and genuine regard for customers. One of the cleanest spot’s I’ve been to in a while! This is a great little hometown stop– yummy, fast and quite popular with the locals.

Oh my gosh! What a treat. First excellent customer service by the owner. Reuben dog and Reuben baked potato were delish. Hamburger was fresh and messy and good
Then we were treated by the owner to some delicious brownies. The price was right.

This place epitomizes quality service. I ordered the Sonoran dog and it was delicious. Throughout the dining experience I feel like I was treated like a family member. I would definitely go here again and I hope that everyone will come here to support a great family that knows what they’re doing.

This place was absolutely amazing. They gave us nachos on the house and free half churros just because they had extra. The prices are low and the food quality was amazing and fresh. Service was phenomenal and the menu was diverse in the best way possible (they have everything you’d want in one place)! I would seriously give this place ten stars if I could, and this is coming from someone who 90% of the time writes a review because of disappointment. I would literally advise everyone passing by to come here, you won’t regret it! It’s amazing!!!

Sitting here right now eating an Italian Stallion Dog. It is a jumbo dog, filleted and grilled, topped with pepperoncis, diced tomatoes & onions, Italian dressing, mozzarella and parmesan cheeses on a fabulous, hearty bun. The dog is 100% Vienna beef! The owners’ friendliness puts you at ease immediately & they offered me a sample of the most delicious beef brisket. A few minutes after delving into my Italian Stallion (oh yeah!), the owner brought me a sample of their onion rings! Hands down the best onion rings I have ever eaten.
One downer… I wanted to try everything on the menu and my belly said no. However, going to get my husband and come back for dinner! Wish we had this excellent restaurant in Show Low!

We have an overnight stay in Benson before going to Kartchner Caverns in the morning. Checked on Unilocal and saw that Wild Dogs got rave reviews. It certainly lived up to the reviews. We had a chili cheese dog, Chicago dog, and a Sonoran dog all with fries and drinks. All was delicious! The owners were so amazing — offered some taste samples and brought us out some extras. They checked on us frequently. I just wish we had a Wild Dogs in Phoenix.

I would recommend this place for its great food and service. The combination has been lost by most places. Always look forward to this small yet awesome restaurant.

At first glance one might decide to pass on by such a place as «Wild Dogs» unless you were a biker who saw the Bikers welcome sign… But doing so would be an epic loss for you! The food is outstanding. Unusually crafted specialties include a plethora of top notch Vienna dogs and meats topped with various sauces to tantalize your tastebuds. They Also have Delightful appetizers which include fried Macaroni Bites, battered and fried zucchini strips, onion rings, and outstanding real french fries. And that’s just the food…
As if it couldn’t get any better your host/​cook/​server is none other than the owner himself who is a joy to be around and strives to please you in anyway possible! Bottom line if you have an addictive personality I would avoid this place as you may find your self drawn like a moth to a light… All others will Be delighted with their experience.
