This place is extremely affordable and convenient. I love their fish congee, but the last time I got it, there was small black hair, the size of a nose hair or brow hair. At first I thought ir was just a natural staining on the rice pieces, but I looked closer. Disgusting! As gross as it is, truthfully, the congee consistency is thick the way I like it, with a lot of meat. Also, the other time I ordered a congee, she gave me a fork. As advanced as we are, I wasn’t quite sure how I would utilize the fork to eat it. Their beef noodle rolls definitely are different from the one you would get at an actual dimsum restaurant. It looks like a thin and weak noodle roll base with some meat scattered around. There you have it, a beef noodle roll. During my order, the lady before me paid $ 13 for her order and asked for a free complimentary soup. My entire take out only added up to $ 7 but I took the risk and asked for free soup too. Though I wasn’t expecting it, she gave one to me anyway. It was very fresh and soothing to my throat.

I cannot believe this cheap ass place exists. Horrific service and cheap as hell. Here are the three things which makes me hate this place so much: 1) Each time I visit, I definitely order at least $ 8 — 10 worth of chopped meats(duck, chicken, char siew, and roast pig). But I love ginger scallion oil so I’d ask for two of the small cups thats like the size of my thumb when I get the chopped meats. The last time I was there, I ordered half a soy sauce chicken. WITHOUT asking me, the chopped meat lady automatically poured the ginger scallion oil ON the chicken. I asked for two and she started bitch’ about giving 1 to me and whatever she added to the chicken was enough. I told her, please give me 2 as I come here often enough and it’s really not enough for me. She still refused and kept on repeating that it’s enough. AREYOUSERIOUSLADY?! Who is the customer that’s paying for your food and keeping your business alive? Are you really going to drive away loyal customer over 1 condiment? 2) Whenever I order the roast pig, I specifically ask for 1 lb. If it’s usually a bit more, I don’t really care. But the lady who chops the meat always gives me at least 1.5lb and more, and has the nerve to say it’s close to a 1lb. After 1 – 2 times, I’m like«WTF»? When she did this the 3rd time, I look at the piece of meat she gives me and at least half of it was bone. I’m specifically tell her, «I specifically asked for 1 lb, and you’re giving me too much.» She then starts bitching, saying that it’s the bones fault and if she gives me 1lb, then I won’t have enough meat. She then starts taking larger chunks of bone out to get it closer to 1lb. WHYDID’T YOUPICKTHEAREASWITHLESSBONEINTHEFIRSTPLACE!!! I am never going back to this place, just not worth the annoyance.

Don’t be fooled by the outside. This place does take out and dine in. It’s located right outside 79th street train station. It’s definitely easy to located since they have roast duck, pork, & chicken hanging from the window. I know it sounds gross… But their duck over rice is pretty good considering that it’s about $ 5. The front of the house looks like a buffet w/a few items premade but the back looks more elegant. The workers barely speak English but they still managed to get my order correct. I would go back since it’s right off the train station and this place is extremely affordable!
