Pretty good selection of low to medium end wines at a somewhat inflated price as compared to other non-​chain establishments. Their high-​end selection is a bit lacking and is locked in a rather messy room off to the side which you need to have someone open for you.
They also have a small gourmet section with some cheese and cured meat at reasonable prices but I would most likely go elsewhere as the offerings were rather sparse.
Decent cigar selection and, with nothing else nearby, the prices are pretty good.

Truly the most caring liquor store in the greater area.

Our neighborhood wine store. We know wine and this place really serves our needs. We occasionally go elsewhere but we feel guilty.
Great selection of all varietals and a mind boggling variety of beers. If you like cheese, they have it. Good chilled selection including our favorite Proseco.
Alas, Dave has moved on to open and run the Bernardsville store. We will miss him.

I haven’t been here in years because the old man who owned this place used to be so cranky and nasty. I’m not sure if he’s still the owner there but he was rude. He one time promised my wife a donation for a local fundraiser, and when she went back to collect it he told her no.
The beer used to always be warm even when it was right out of the refrigerators. We always suspected it was because he was too cheap to turn them colder. Like I said I haven’t been here in years. No matter how big a rush I’m in I keep driving to Discount across from Shop Rite. Better prices and MUCH friendlier service.

I like this place a lot. They have a very good selection — pretty much any beer, wine or liquor I’ve ever been looking for has been there. Gary’s in Bernardsville & Madison is bigger, but the customer service here is stellar. I don’t know wine to save my life, but just Tell one of the workers what ur looking for/​price range etc, and they never steer you wrong. They also don’t make u feel like some poor stupid fool for asking for a recommendation and only wanting to spend $ 10-​$ 15 on a bottle of wine.
They have a cheese counter, fairly unique prepackaged snacks, and a chocolate counter. Never tried the chocolate, but all the other stuff is pretty tasty too. Not a huge selection, but enough to fill the need .
In the past couple months I’ve become a tonic snob. Their mixers are pretty standard– Schwepps, CanadaDry etc, but they do have Fever Tree and Fentimans too — just small quantities .
I’ve seen a few comments on price — there aren’t that many liquor stores in the area to choose from, so maybe prices are a little higher here, but it’s very convenient, very clean, and the staff if very helpful. Can’t ask for much more than that !

Great service. Friendly. They often have things I don’t see anywhere else. If you need to buy wine, but don’t know which to get, try this place. They know what they’re doing.

Nice place. It’s almost like the kind of wine store you walk into and wonder if they even sell beer. Well, they do. In fact, they actually have a very good selection. Obviously they have a great wine selection, as well.
Beer selection was great but the prices were not great. I think that’s the first time I’ve ever paid more than 10 bucks for a Sam Adams 6 pack before taxes. Oh well — you can’t win them all. My wife and I go to a bunch of restaurants down this way, and if it’s a BYOB, I’ll have no problem stopping in here. They also have a nice little cheese/​deli section in the store (I get it but you really don’t see that too often).

I wanted to alert everyone to the customer service experience I had in ordering wine from this store. I placed an order on May 5 for a bottle of wine as a present for a friend who had recently gotten engaged. 5 days later (as of morning of May 10) I still had no tracking number or shipping info despite that on their website (
) they mention orders are supposed to ship within 2 business days of placement.
They emailed me on May 10 midday saying my order had been canceled because they could not verify my billing info. I called to re-​confirm the info and get the order back on track. The first person with whom I spoke said she would look into it and call me back. She never did, so I called back myself in order to get things resolved before the weekend.
The man with whom I spoke when I called back was extremely curt and put me on extended holds multiple times. I asked about whether they could provide some expedited shipping service to recompense for the fact that they promise orders ship within 2 business days but mine had yet to ship after 5. He very rudely said that they could not, that they would be canceling the order, and then hung up on me.
If you value customer service, please think twice before you become a patron of this establishment.

Solid beer selection with all the essentials and more, rotating seasonals, solid bombers, etc. The staff is always friendly. Most importantly, they store beer the right way. Have never had anything skunked or overly expired, which is something I can’t say for other liquor stores in the area.

I realize it’s a wine store but $ 35 for a case of beer is ridiculous. Even if it’s Brooklyn Brewing Company

I really like this place. I do not drink, and I know nothing about wine. I do like to make cocktails when I entertain. The guy who owns the place, Dave, has never steered me wrong. They have a huge variety of wine, spirits, alcohol, and cheese and other comestibles that are all of impressive quality. Everyone who works here is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We have gone to Dave for advice on wine for parties and he is always spot on. This place is the real deal. You will not be disappointed.

This is my go to place for wine advice. I trust David’s guidance and he not only listens to what I am looking for and what I am cooking but he leads me to the best price point for the quality experience, then gives me a few selections outside my comfort zone when I’m looking for new taste experiences. He won’t sell you expensive just because and that has always been my experience and why I return. This store provides any excellent selection of wine, beer and alcohol in addition they have convienent cheese, cured meats and bread and cigars. Come in and sign up for the tasting and stay for the experience, expertise and guidance that will make you the wine connoisseur that you are too busy to become.

What’s up with the lack of enthused reviews of this place?
The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Last time I came in, a guy was walking out. He stopped me in the vestibule and asked if I needed any help picking out some wine before he left. Then he came back inside the store with me and pointed out the wines I was looking for, even giving me notes on specific bottles with my flavor preferences and price range. They really care about making sure you have a good experience. Other times I’ve come in I’ve had similarly helpful encounters.
Not a huge store, but a good variety of wines. They also have a selection of liquor and beer. My only complaint is that the hard cider selection is slim. But I feel like if I requested something they might actually try and get it for me.
They also have a selection of wine and cheese related accessories.
Maybe they are a little bit smaller than other places in the area, but it’s hard to beat their customer service.

It’s not as big as some of the other stores in the area, but probably one of the nicest looking. They have a pretty good selection, but the prices are significantly higher than the bigger wine store just down the road. I would also have to say that the help here is not as nice and attentive as I’m used to. Don’t go here on a Friday or Saturday when it’s busy, there isn’t much parking. They have a great selection of cigars, most of which you don’t see in other stores and they are always nice and fresh.

They have great specials — for instance, I bought a bottle of red wine for $ 24.99, at other stores in the area the same bottle was selling for $ 34.99+. Aside from the wine, they have a great beer selection. Same goes for the liquor.
Quite possibly the nicest and most knowledgeable staff I’ve ever met. They really go out of the way to get you the right bottle in your price range.
While the store is smaller than some of the mega liquor stores within a short drive — thus limiting the selection, they will go out of their way to get you what you want.
