Ok, the food is good for a little café, its fresh, but… the owner, the guy with the white ponytail who does the cooking… leaves quite a bit to be desired. He is incredibly rude and honestly if it wasnt for his super nice wait staff to make up for his Godawful attitude I dont think he’d be in business. Doesnt he know you can serve the best food in the world(which i wouldnt classify it as that), but if youre a jerk to your customers you wont have a business. Wheres that Bar Rescue fella when you need him — bc that owner needs a wake up kick in the keester.

Great little local café/diner that serves breakfast. I had an omelet, and it was tasty. Portions were good, but not overwhelming. Staff were very friendly.

Do not ask for wings they never give you what you ordered and the naked wings are so dry.

This kitschy feeling little BBQ joint is the real deal. Our family of 4 ordered, brisket, ribs, mac and cheese, wings and fries. When I order ribs I want to be able to pull the bones out, leaving a plate of moist meat. I was able to do that and that alone is worth 5 stars. Stop in if you can and see what you can devour! Oh and Mango cheesecake!!!

Greatest BBQ in Berkeley Springs! Gives several higher end restaurants a run for their money. Go for breakfast lunch or dinner.

No liquor license, so despite Unilocal and the restaurants own menu claiming to have a full selection of beer and wine there is none. Food was fine.

Had the pulled pork samich with fries. Awesome meal for the amount they charge. The place is gees if you like eclectic. Something to be seen in every room. Tried the homemade BBQ chips and fried green beans for a stater, both great. Need to go back and sample the other varieties of chips. We will make the trip back here for certain!

I’d give this place 4 stars but there are several issues– first — they are very inconsistent! The wings were amazing as was the Reuben so we went back a week later. Unfortunately, I felt as though I was in a different restaurant… The wings were tough and chewy and didn’t taste like the ones we ordered a week prior??! We asked the waitress about the fact that the first batch was baked then fried — giving them a very tender crispness to them — she said that sometimes they do but didn’t have time to do it today… Not a good thing for a restaurant to do?! Then the Reuben came and the week’s prior Reuben, with the most tender, moist corned beef, salty yet light sauerkraut and crispy non greasy bread was nowhere to be found. This Reuben had tough chewy corned beef and soggy bread… Returned it and left unhappy. We went back to try the breakfast a few weeks later and the omelet was very good and huge! The grits — like most northeast grits were bland and flavorless, the pancake was ginormous and very good… So in a nutshell– it’s hit or miss here…

Great not so little hole in the wall with great but not fancy food. Appears small and drab from exterior but is comfortable and eclectic inside with a large dinning area, small bar. Locals love it, we did too, so will you. Homemade food including the the chips. BBQ is moist and yummy, Rubin was delish, salt and vinegar chips have malt viniger poured over them! They open at 8am and serve breakfast late as well !

Loved the kickin molasses wings. Only thing that would have made it better is extra hot wings.

Earthdog is a great place to eat. It looks really small and tiny when you drive by, but really, it’s gigantanormous on the inside. There are at least 3 different seating areas, shelves of games and plenty of seating. The menu is quite extensive, and really really good. I’ve eaten there a few times and have not been disappointed once. Their sweet tea is also good. Like Robert M said in his review, there are no frou frou items on the menu. You won’t find cream cheese stuffed french toast with carmelized walnuts. You’ll get straight up pancakes. They have free wifi, power when you need to charge your phone or do some work and plenty of nice staff to pay attention to you. The BBQ is also great, and their sides are spot on. Southern charm, you’re doing it right.

We are locals, and really love this place! The staff is all wonderful, sweet and cheerful, and the cooks are excellent. This is NOT gourmet food — I would call it upscale diner food. Their breakfasts are fantastic, their burgers and fries are great, and they will always accommodate your requests. What sets them apart is that they use fresh ingredients. If you order the corned beef hash, it’s made fresh — not from a can. They smoke their own ribs in the front of the building. Everything is from scratch, and delicious. The atmosphere is eclectic — with a very«homey» feel to it. The dishes are mismatched, there are shelves of books and games that are available for patrons(come on in and stay a while!) and a funky vibe. This is the opposite of a snooty restaurant, and you will feel good(and FULL from the big portions) when you leave!

Go check out Earthdog Café when you’re in Berkeley Springs. It’s off the main strip in Berkeley Springs, but worth the little drive from town. We didn’t have the BBQ while we there, but all of the tables around us were and seemed to be enjoying it. We did try the homemade BBQ sauce(served on the table) on our fries. YUMMO! Tell Kendra hello. She’s got lots of good suggestions about the menu and is super attentive.

This great little local eatery has a great rustic charm to it. Kendra our server was AWESOME! A real go getter and friendly. The food was fresh and served hot and delicious. I will definitely be coming back to this quaint local restaurant. Good value and excellent food and service.

Wasn’t expecting much when I found this place with friends after a bicycle ride. I ordered the beef brisket platter with sides of fried and jalapeño chips. It was delicious! A friend order the pork brisket platter and said his was really good too. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to try their other meals.

We stopped in late on a Friday night(around 9pm) mostly because the Unilocal reviews said this is one of the best spots to eat in the area — and because it’s one of the few spots that is open late. I’m not quite sure I understand who thinks the food is all that great though. I will say off the bat, that the service was really great. They are SO friendly and nice here, our waitress was super sweet. Unfortunately I don’t think it can make up for the bad food. I can’t wrap my head around why people rave about the brisket. It’s not good. It’s SO salty, and seems like it’s made in a crock pot. The mac and cheese on the other hand desperately needed salt, the ribs were ok, but super fatty and again tasted like they were made in a crock pot. Perhaps we ordered the wrong thing — maybe it’s better to go with their all day breakfast? Overall very unimpressed.

We recently had an extended stay in Berkley Springs, WV, and while there, we had Earthdog Café two times. The first time, we went in as a group of four to have lunch. My hubby, and I ordered the Three Little Piggies Platter. This comes with your choice of 3 bbq meats, as well as two sides, and a roll. We chose ribs, pork, and brisket for our meats. We were shocked when this huge plate of food came out. Honestly, the four of us at the table probably could have split it. We were stuffed, and still took some home for leftovers. The bbq was good, and we enjoyed it. I also liked their bbq sauce. This plate costs $ 17, but for the amount of food it is totally worth the price. Both visits I had their Nacho Nachos. I am a huge fan of nachos, and couldn’t wait to try these after I read the description. The nachos are covered in chili, which is all good for me. I asked the waitress what was in their chili though, just out of curiosity. She said their chili is amazing, and that they use their brisket in it. Cool with me; sounds delish. The first time I had them, they were fabulous, and I loooooved them. The chips were homemade, fresh, and crunchy. The chili was wonderful; a little beans, a little brisket, and it blended wonderfully with the cheese, olives, and banana peppers. The toppings were really loaded on there, too. The second time we had them, we went specifically to have these nachos. They were the only thing we ordered because they were so good the first time. This time around, the nachos were just meh. The chili was all beans, there was no meat in it at all. No exaggeration; there was no meat. There was hardly any cheese on them, the toppings were sparse, and our chips were chewy; no crunch. I was beyond disappointed. If I lived close by, I would give them another shot at the nachos because the two experiences were so different. If our second nacho experience had been better, I would have rated this place a solid 4 stars. The food is good, the service is good, and the price is good.

Earth Dog is my mid point from Pittsburgh to Virginia. The menu is diverse and very reasonably priced. I usually get half a pulled pork sandwich and a side salad with corn slaw. It’s decent BBQ, but I’ve had better. The servers are friendly, and I’m usually served within 15 minutes if I sit at the lunch counter. If you’re passing through, stop by.

From the outside, this is an unimpressive restaurant at first glance. However, we stopped for lunch and the interior has ample space. We were seated next to a bookshelf full of children’s books and toys, which is convenient when you have a three year old. There is s dark rather uninviting saloon bar in a separate room off the main dining room. The service was very friendly and efficient. We were greeted within minutes of being seated in a pleasant manner. The menu was diverse enough with BBQ, burgers, salads and sandwiches to give a good range of choices. However, after ordering it took about 20 minutes for the food to arrive. Now, I’m used to New York and DC lunch serve times where a wait of more than 15 minutes begins to cause impatience. Just saying. I had the pulled pork platter with beans and vegetables, while the kids ordered blackened chicken sandwiches and the steak sandwich. My order came out after everyone else’s, which was annoying. The portions were large. My first thought was that I wouldn’t be eating dinner later. The BBQ pork was tender, juicy and flavorful. The flavor was well augmented by the sauce but even on its own the meat was tasty but not seasoned. Overall, it was a very good BBQ. The beans that came with the BBQ were superb. I highly recommend those. Also the side of zucchini was really nicely prepared. You pretty much can’t go wrong here and the prices are very reasonable especially when one is used to NY prices. Enjoy

Honestly. Why does this place get good reviews? The BBQ is just bad. I had the pork, brisket and ribs and none of them had any flavor. The sauce was just OK. I will say the waitress was very nice, though.
