Overall, my experience was amazing. The service was very friendly and quick. I was in and out in 10 minutes. The Ghirardelli chocolate left on the steering column is a great touch

Went here with a Groupon and they were super fast and efficient. I made a reservation, but there didn’t seem to be much of a wait. Smog test results were sent electronically to the DMV as well, which made it even easier.

Great people and great service. Literally in and out. Best of all they give you a little chocolate treat waiting for you in your car.
Recommend to anyone needing a smog check. Will be returning next year!

I made an appointment based on the Unilocal reviews. The location is also 1 mile+ from where I live. I booked an appointment at 8.15am on a Friday morning. I was the first person there and arrived a bit before my appointment. The worker there was super friendly and finished the test so quickly. In the waiting room, I only had time to fill out the form and look at my phone a bit. I was out of there as soon as I came in! The worker gave the best customer service. I cannot recommend this place enough.

This place was great! I have never left a Unilocal review before but this place deserves a great review. We were in and out within 15 minutes and for the price quoted. Plus we where left a little chocolate gift when we got back in the car! Would highly recommend :)

Great customer service. I was in and out in 15min w/​an appointment. I felt like I can trust the operator and they even left a nice chocolate treat in the car after thanking you.
What made this 5 stars was that i also used a living social coupon which made it very affordable. You can even get your DMV sticker there for an additional $ 20.

Okay, that was amazing. Online booking. Confirmations. They were ready for me even though I got there early. On a holiday (ok, MLK day isn’t a holiday for everyone, but the DMV is closed.) They told me 20 – 30 minutes, but were probably done sooner — I was having tea and biscuits at the amazing bakery down the street («Standard Fare» — review to come.) They did my DMV and handed me my license plate stickers on the spot. It’s the definition of a one-​stop shop. Guy/​owner is super-​friendly.

If there was an option to rate this as negative 5 star, I would definitely do so.
I made an appointment for Monday, 5:20 pm. The person who booked it for me Saturday morning, said the place is working till 6 pm and latest available appointment would be 5:20 pm. I arrived 5:23, driving 40 miles from San Ramon to Berkeley, they say they do not accept my car, because they close at 5:30.
I am 100% sure that my appointment was for 5:20, he says it was 5:15!!!
I say your colleague said you are here till 6, he says I am here some days till 6pm, But not today.

A real difference from other Smog centers! I had been going to the same place for years. It was fine with no real drama.. .but what I realized after my appointment at Berkeley Smog Test Only Center is that there was no real focus on service either.
I loved making an appointment and having them be ready for me right when I drove up. I enjoyed the friendly reception and comfortable waiting area with WiFi. I loved being out of there in 15 minutes with a warm «thank you» and a chocolate on the dash.
Wow. Smog test with amazing service. What a welcomed change!

Found this little gem on groupon a couple of years ago and have been a customer ever since. They always have some type of discount available on their website and then there is Groupon!
Make an appointment on line and your good to go. Fast, friendly and well priced for the service! The little surprise on your dash when your smog test is done is an added bonus!

Quick and easy! I made the apointment, drove right over, parked the car, and was done in 12 minutes. Paid and got in the car and was pleasantly surprised by a little gift as well! :)

Fast, efficient, cordial service, with chocolates.
Since my last visit:
1. Comfy chairs and a space heater in the waiting room, although you’ll not be here long (I think I was out in 10 minutes)
2. $ 20 discount for making an online appointment
3. You can also take care of the DMV fees and get your plate tabs here.

Real solid place for smog check. Fast, friendly, in & out in less than 20 minutes if you make an appt in advance, and if you don’t drive a bucket that needs retest or meet other DMV requirements.
There’s a Groupon offer out there, or you can check in on Unilocal & use one of the Unilocal App offers after you check in.
I’ve been to other smog test centers on/​around San Pablo in the Berkeley/​Albany area, this place is definitely strong to quite strong. Then again, if you’re visiting smog test centers more than once in a blue moon, might be time for a new whip.

I had the best experience with this place. I made an online appointment the day before and got a discount for doing so. Came in at 8:13am and was out of there by 8:20am.
The technician also left me an adorable napkin + chocolate which totally started my morning off in a positive way.
