I went in with high expectations and left disappointed. My girlfriend and I were looking for a decent pizza place near campus when we found Bobby G Pizzeria, we ordered the meat lovers pizza and a coke. The first thing that was wrong was the coke was flatter than the trumpet I used to play in high school. When was the last time they changed out the soda in the machine? Then our pizza arrived. Very generous portions of pizza for the price however, it was extremely greasy. I only had two slices and now here i am at almost 6 am with a nasty stomach ache. The only way this pizza would be good is though a night of binge drinking and you needed something greasy to help with the alcohol. The staff where friendly and had good service which helped save them from one star. Maybe it was an off night but as far as first impressions go I was not impressed.

Only three words needed: PLINYTHEELDER this place has it on tap so that’s really all I need. But the pizza is amazing too, especially the thin crust. The owner roams around asking how people are doing and how is the food, many tvs always have the best games on Only down side is that it can get pretty noisy. Other than that, it’s awesome!

This place is great for sports fans. Lots of TVs and a great beer selection. The food is reasonably priced, with pizza by the slice options. It’s a welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff and customers. It does get a little crowded for certain games, so keep that in mind… You may need to arrive early to secure a seat. 5 stars for being the best sports bar in Berkeley. Go Warriors!!!

My experience last night at Bobby G’s was a mix between a really, really bad Seinfeld episode and something out of George Orwell’s 1984. So it seems to be a typical night at the place — pretty crowded, decent pizza, good beer. Good crowd watching football on late Saturday afternoon. there’s probably 5 – 6 games on as people are getting ready(presumably) for the Cal — Oregon State game. Next thing I know the waiter/busboy comes out, and without warning, changes EVERYSINGLETV in the place to the Democratic debate. A group of guys asks him to change a few televisions(w/o the sound) back to football, and he basically yells at them(in front of everyone), effectively telling them to f*** themselves. I believe the quote was«Your choice is to leave !!!». Literally screams it across the restaurant. So here is the irony. I’m sitting in a restaurant in Berkeley — the liberal capital of the world. The«debate» on tv is the Democratic party. But ultimately, the waiter decides that you MUST watch the democractic party debate. A disagreement or choice is not only disallowed, but the expression of such — in a very mild and respectful manner — is grounds for leaving the restaurant and humiliation. Easily the worst restaurant experience of my life. How that waiter/bus boy has not only the authority, but even a job there, is beyond me. NEVER going back.

Love the food(check out their fried pizzas!), but the staff are what puts Bobby G’s into 5-star status for me. Typical situation: Super-crowded Thursday night football. They are out of my preferred beer(Anchor Porter), so I order an Anchor Steam. Next thing I know, the bartender is seeking me out with two sample shots of the two porters they have on tap. This sort of service is the usual at Bobby G’s, but it still astonishes me because it’s an order-at the counter arrangement — not a server angling for tips at ‘their’ table. Awesome service. Great pizza. Perfect sports bar.

The finger in the circle emoji. I want to make my entire post a copy of that emoji. Pie. Pliny. Perfect. Easygoing and awesome staff make this place(in my humble opinion) one of the best places in Berkeley. Delicious food, great beer, and great service. What more is there to love or want in a restaurant? Especially pizza! Ahhh! Affordable. Delicious. Great beer.

A very large variety of pizza types and toppings! They also offer gluten free and vegan which is nice. We got the crispy crust pizza pie which was seriously one of the best small pizzas I’ve had– the mushrooms were delicious and the goat cheese was very yummy. Also my favorite ginger beer! Would definitely come back here! The service was fast and nice too.

The meatlover’s pizza that we had was good in all respects besides the fact that it was too salty. Geez, that’s a shame. Four stars if they fix this issue. Pizza is religious to me. Service is decent, atmosphere is casual, a good place to bring your mates. The salads were very, very good however. Like, I would go here for just the salad. I had the spinach salad with my pizza and I liked it more than the pizza. The dressing was good… It had blue cheese, pecans, & apple pieces.

This place had one racist customer(later learned it was not an employee). I had to leave because I was texting my wife and some white guy started to argue for no particular reason… I’m shocked that I live in berkeley with these kind of racist people. Sad ****After my initial review the owner contacted me immediately asking for more information. He not only looked into this complaint/concern but found the individual that was behaving this way. I was impressed with his professionalism and how he handled the situation. I can say he has good ethical business practices. I have no complaints about the establishment itself, just the one customer. PS…they have a good beer selection

This place is a Michigan Bar for those Michigan Football weekends so it gets an automatic star or two just for that. Go Blue! I’ve been here a couple of times and most recently was this past weekend. The hubs was craving some pizza and since i’m low carb, I got a salad. It’s a friendly place located right on the main downstrip by the school. Pretty big place with variety of seating and full bar of different types of beers. The hubs got a slice of cheese and slice of pepperoni which were pretty big. I got the greek salad plus anchovies. We also got a linguine bolognese to go which wasn’t exactly quite the same type of pasta. Price wise is reasonable for the quantity that you get. decent food. friendly folks.

Pretty on the inside. Nice employees. Wanted pizza. I was totally let down. Came in and wanted a couple veggie slices. You can choose your own toppings for slices. Cool. They charge… whatever…too much. 2 slices of veggie would have been about $ 12. So I ordered cheese. They looked great. I added a little cheese, and a some red pepper. Took a bite. And nothing. No flavor. Totally bland… even with the red pepper? I added a WHOLE bunch more. I was kind of uncomfortable with how much I ended up having to add to finally get a little zing. We were treated to some of the local flavor by way of Omar. They had some tv’s, and like I said, the place is decorated nicely, clean, and pleasant to eat in. I just wish the food was as nice. Especially for a place that touts themselves as a pizzeria.

I wasn’t impressed with this place. I came here with a friend to watch the Carolina game last week. Place was nice. I like the ambience. We ordered our pizza. However, it wasn’t what I expected. There was not a lot of toppings on the pizza; we had a half hawaiian and half cheese. The cheese amount was decent. There was only 3 to 4 pineapples and ham on a slice. Ingredients seemed to be freshed. For example, the pineapples were good, but not the typical ones that are used at other pizza places. Rating: Food: 2 Service: 5 Ambience: 5 Overall: 2 I am all about the food. You can have decent service and poor ambience, but if the food isn’t great, I am not going back.

I brought my babygirl here on a Thursday date night. No, not because Thursday night football was on and they have several TVs with excellent viewing angles to watch it from. I was honestly craving pizza. Since Berkeley doesn’t really have any decent Vegan pizza choices, I figured we could check out a place I have had bookmarked forever. The fact they serve Pliny on tap, earns them an extra star, bringing the grand total for this establishment up to 2 shiny stars. It didn’t hurt that it was still happy hour up until 7pm. We ordered the Vegan Caeser Salad and a small Vegan pizza with NY style crust. After we paid for our order and sat down, they informed us that they were out of the Vegan Caeser dressing. Normally I wouldn’t be too bothered. I understand that shit happens. However they really do not have any other appealing Vegan options on their menu to substitute it with. The kids working the register couldn’t figure out how to refund us the money for the salad. So instead, I said we’ll just upgrade the pizza to a large since there is no medium size here. So instead of a small pizza that we could’ve finished in one sitting, we were left with a pizza that fed me for 3 days straight. We probably would’ve ate more in one sitting if the pizza was decent tasting. If I need to add, black pepper, red pepper flakes, AND«burn my asshole hot sauce» to your pizza, something is wrong. Their Vegan cheese is not unlike Lanesplitter’s ricotta-like substance. It’s no Daiya, but it’ll do. The crust was a little burnt, but I got used to it rather quickly. In the end, that was the only redeeming quality of this lackluster pie. The only other taste on this pizza was garlic. The garlic overwhelmed everything. Then again, since there’s not much flavor to begin with, it was probably necessary in order not to be entirely bland. The hot sauce fridge up front on the counter was a cool touch. It wasn’t too well stocked, but it had the usual suspects. Tabasco, Sriracha, Crystal, Cholula, and a few mystery sauces with warning labels that you should heed if you attempt to douse your flavorless pie in hot sauce. All pizza and no salad makes JB a dull boy. I almost feel I shouldn’t review this place until I’ve tried that Caeser Salad. But in the end, I was disappointed enough on this first trip, that I don’t really want to come back here again.

Bobby G’s has AMAZING pizza that they make from scratch and fresh upon order. I wasn’t really expecting much more than pizza since it’s fairly hard to mess up pizza… But after the first bite, I wanted to eat the whole small pie by myself! My boyfriend and I ordered a small(regular sized) Meat Lovers pizza. Usually Meat Lovers pizza leave me feeling super bloated and uncomfortable since there is so much meat on it, but at Bobby G’s the meat to pizza to flavor ratio was PERFECT! Bobby G’s Pizzeria’s pizza is officially the best pizza I’ve ever had!(: Unfortunately, the price was definitely on the steep side for pizza so I can’t frequent here as much as I want to, but I’ll definitely stop by once in awhile! They also have a small bar area with beer on tap for those who are looking for a chill place!

Whenever my friends and I decide to go out to dinner, we always have the same issue. There are way too many delicious restaurant options. After several text conversations and much deliberation, my friend Lindsey and I settled on Bobby G’s. I had never been before, but she told me they have a great Happy Hour from 4 until 7pm. The menu is a bit daunting at first, especially since you order at the counter and then seat yourselves afterwards. Luckily, our waitress was extremely patient as we tried to figure out the best course of action. After some quick perusing of all of the options(New York Style, Neapolitan, White Pies, Sicilian, or Pan Fried), we selected the Veggie, substitute soy cheese instead of mozzarella, and we opted to add the vegan sausage. It comes with«organic tomato sauce… mushrooms, tomatoes, sweet bell peppers, onions, black olives, garlic and fresh herbs». I’m still a Daiya girl at heart when it comes to vegan cheese, but Bobby G’s soy cheese is still a stand-out alternative to the dairy option. It kind of reminds me more of a ricotta, very similar to the cheese at Lanesplitter. Be warned: this pie packs a wallop of garlic. If you’re not a fan, I would ask them to go easy on it. Personally, I love a ton of garlic, so I enjoyed the flavor. I tossed on a ton of red chili flakes, and was even hoping for some hot sauce to drizzle on top. I didn’t see any from where I was sitting, but I was too lazy to get up and look. Make sure you have some mints on hand to combat that fierce garlic breath, darlings. And beer breath, as well, since they offer an extensive list of local and not-so-local craft beers. Not feeling like pizza? Don’t fret. Bobby G’s offers a few other options. There’s a vegan caesar salad, a penne with marinara(hold the cheese), bruschetta. There is also a gluten-free crust option for a few bucks extra. Lots of vegetarian and omnivorous options, so the whole family can find something to please their picky palate. Heck, they even offer a peanut butter and jelly sammich(that’s vegan, too!).

My guy found Bobby G’s Pizzeria on the schedule for SF Beer Week and wanted to try it out. It has two of the things he loves the most, pizza and beer. We brought along my sister. She loves a good craft beer and Stone Brewing Co took over a few taps. We all ordered the same beer which was a special IPA Saison blend. Fantastic. We all had a slice of cheese pizza, which was pretty cheap like $ 3 a slice. They have so many kinds and toppings, but we were not even that hungry and just craved a regular cheese slice. The place was pretty crowded, so we shared a table with another patron, who was pretty nice to let us join him. I guess it’s also a Berkeley thing to do. ;) I liked Bobby G’s, it was pretty inexpensive and a pretty casual spot, the parking is a little tricky but it’s nice to find new places with great beer and pizza!
