OK, I’m gonna go «balls out» and give Café Siena the big 5 stars (if they’re still in business — which tehy were back in the mid & late nineties when I went there).
This is the place where as a wide-eyed, newly-cCalifornicated east coaster I had my very first white hot chocolate. (and also a white hot chocolate latte.
WOW!
At the time I had had a latte before (at Espresso Roma — the first place I ever had one) but had never even been to a Starbucks.
Café Siena was a good place for students to go — as it was RIGHT near the UC Berkeley campus. It could get crowded, though.
But man, that White hot chocolate was a de-virginizing experience that I will NEVER forget.
