Clearlight Infrared by Sauna Works

I live in Washington State near the Canadian border and it was impossible for me to see a Clearlight sauna before purchasing one. I want to stress that I was very concerned about the quality of Clearlight saunas, not wanting to waste my money. After much online research, I phoned Clearlight and asked to talk to the owner of the company. Raleigh Duncan made me feel at ease about their product and told me I could return the sauna if we were not completely satisfied.
We received our sauna from Clearlight in June 2014. I waited awhile to submit this review so I could see how well it performed. I was impressed with the shipping company Clearlight used for shipping/​delivery. They made the sauna easy to track and the delivery driver was helpful in getting it off the the truck in the alley and into my carport. I immediately started to unpack it and was extremely impressed with the quality of the panels and parts.
The assembly was not a problem. It went together easier than Ikea furniture. During the installation process I was even more impressed at the quality of the cedar used. The craftsmanship and electrical components are top notch.
The sauna works as advertised. I checked out the EMF with a meter when I got it going and it checked out as advertised.
I have to say I don’t know where Beth S and Roshann C are coming from with their negative reviews. If you follow their reviews on Unilocal,they both have lots of bad reviews on other companies and establishments and seem to have issues wherever they go. These two reviews almost caused me to look elsewhere for a sauna. I am glad I ignored them and trusted all the many good reviews about Clearlight.
I would like to wrap up this review by saying thank you to Raleigh Duncan and his crew for offering and delivering a quality product and service.

There is only one word to describe my Sanctuary 3 Clearlight sauna from Sauna Works and that is FANTASTIC! I stumbled upon their website by accident after searching online. After reading some of their reviews I came away feeling 98% sure that this was the sauna I wanted. So, I gave them a call to learn about their product and address some of my concerns. To my delight I found their sales reps to be very professional, knowledgable, and friendly. They addressed all of my concerns and stood ready to offer me a «satisifaction guarantee» or refund my purchase price in full with no questions asked. At one point I was put in contact with one of the company’s owners, Dr. Duncan. Dr. Duncan was a real gem and was most helpful in explaining to me how his product was the best choice in sauna’s I could make. He was also very friendly and easy to work with in addressing my needs. I can not «thank» him enough for his assistance and most of all very professional assistance. I reviewed several models with the sales rep, Sony, and decided upon purchasing the Sanctuary 3 and waited most anxiously for a shipment date and then the delivery date. Part of our agreement was that my card would not be charged until the product actually shipped even though I was not expecting delivery for nearly six weeks out. Finally, I received a delivery date, my card was charged, and few days later I received a large crate containing my new sauna. The sauna was delivered without any damage in large part to the excellent manner in which it was crated and protected. The packaging of my unit was more than excellent, it was near perfect.
As it turned out it took longer to uncrate the sauna then it did to put it together. It will however be best to have two people working together to set it up. But assembly is practically a «snap» as there are not that many pieces to assemble and all slide together effortlessly when you have somebody to help. I did have a special electrical 110 volt /​20 amp outlet installed for my unit which is highly recommended. After assembly, the overall appearance of the unit is simply spectacular. There is no cheap shortcut here! The Sauna looks great!
I have been using my sauna for a couple of months now and it has worked perfectly every time. I am amazed at how much I enjoy sitting in it for 45−60/min. Of course, the excellent sound system, MP3 and DVD player makes the time slip by before you know it. I have been able to get the heat up to 120 – 150 depending on how hot it is outside. On an average day it usually will get up to 135 after 30 – 45 minutes. Of course, it helps to boost the heat by turning it on for 15 – 20 or more minutes before use. And, all those folks who say they sleep better after a session are absolutely right. I have always slept well but after a session in the sauna I’m dead to the world when my head hits the pillow at night.
One last recommendation: put a tarp or thick cover over the top of the unit especially if you are housing it outside like me because it will not only improve the intensity of the heat but will protect the valuable electronics and electrical wiring on the roof. Oh yeah, buy the cover too. Like everything else, its awesome.

I tried saunas before but was never a fan until a friend of mine purchased Clearlight. After I tried hers, I wanted my own. I am a health freak and aware of how important it is to stay clean and clear. «Detox in a box» kind a way. When I called the company, I was immediately assisted and given information and pricing quotes on their saunas. After some delegating I ordered IS2. It arrived quickly and instalI was fairly uncomplicated. I really enjoy it!
Apart from it being the best investment next to my gym membership, the health benefits are truly priceless.

I didn’t know much about saunas besides that I needed one in my home. I came to Unilocal for some assistance and found this place. I went to their location, checked out some products, got some good information and wasn’t rushed or pushed to buy right then and there. It took me about a week before I decided to go back and make a purchase. I felt like the workers were really there to help me out and teach me more about all the different models. Great service, guys!

Ive been looking for a new sauna and I heard some good things about this place. So I went to the showroom and as soon as I walked in I was greeted and felt welcomed. I was surprised of the big variety they have and the deals they had. I was doing my research online and some places were more expensive. I browsed around and found the sauna I liked. It was shipped to my doorstep very quickly and I love it! Definitely recommend these guys.

I stumbled upon infrared saunas and found Clearlight in the bay area.
I went by the showroom and Katie did such a good job of selling the product.
I got a great deal (you have to ask) and they delivered the sauna right on
time. I had no problems installing it and they even came by and fixed my
radio when it got disconnected. Most importantly, I found my avenue to
detoxify my body… finally. I would absolutely recommend Clearlight.

I purchased my sauna this winter and I am really happy with my purchase. I had Clearlight on my radar for a long time and after doing my research I decided to buy the IS-​2. I called them up and spoke with Caroline who really set my expectations very high. Almost too high. When the guys came to my house and installed the sauna it was so nice and easy to use. I use my sauna just about everyday and I sleep better than I ever have. I am so relaxed after using my sauna that I no longer yell at my husband! Anyway, I can now say that my expectations were met. I purchased the IS-​5 Infrared Sauna. I love it. I have fibromyalgia and arthritis. I have had it for a sort time, but I am already feeling the benefits of my sessions in the sauna. I have more energy, yay!
I would recommend the sauna to anyone, but especially for people that have auto-​immune deficiencies. It helps detox your body.

I have been using my brothers Clearlight sauna and his hottub for the past 3 years when we would visit his home and finally decided that I would surprise my wife with one of our own for our 25^th anniversary. I started to explore all the health benefits associated with them after listening to my sister in law go on and on about it. My brothers wife is really big on detoxifying her body and I suffer from sleep apnea. I am always tired and very fatigued especially on days when I do not use my C-​Pap machine the night before. I have been now using my unit for 2 months now and feel great. I use the sauna on average for 20 to 30 minutes 5 to 7 days a week. It is very relaxing especially after a stressful day at work. I wish I had the room for a bigger model. I had to settle for the Clearlight IS-​1 because of the size of my condo. Assembly was very easy, however I would suggest having two adults. Overall we are both very happy with our purchase and would recommend this product.

Clearlight has been fantastic in both quality of product and quality of service. We bought the IS-​2 which is a two person in cedar wood. What a beautiful and great functioning product! We chose Clearlight because they are really low in EMF radiation, unlike most on the market. The sauna functions great. It is so good looking and compliments the room. Really high quality good looking in every way. Also I want to mention the installers were great. They came on time, were quick, and cleaned up.
We just love our new sauna — we have had it about 4 months now and it is a great addition to our home. BTW, we did not get the larger model because we did not want to change the electric work. This model just plugs into our regular 110 volt wall outlet, which will be true for most homes, but maybe not a real old one. They told me if you can run a 1500 watt plug in electric room heater, then you can run this. Just sayin’.

I was given a gift cert for a massage and infrared sauna session at Detox Diva’s. I knew I would like the massage but had no idea what a «infrared sauna» was but it was a part of the gift so I tried it.
Perfect timing! Because it’s been freezing and now that it is so cold, that sauna warmed me up to where I felt like I was in the tropics. I loved it! It’s supposed to be good for you health-​wise. I will be back just because it made me feel great.
They said it was a Clearlight so I checked out their website. I wish I had one of these in my home! Highly recommended.

I have been looking for a low EMF sauna which is medical quality. I spoke with Bruce regarding Clear Light Saunas, and he assured me that their saunas had under 3 miligaus EMF and that they had a patent pending for the lowest EMF’s, as well as their sauna was made in the US. There website clearly states that they are the leader of Low EMFs and that they have a superior product.
I asked if he had one in my area I could look at (recently I bought a sauna and was told the same thing, so I bought it, and found the EMFs to be over 100). Bruce recommended that I go to the Pt. Loma Sporting Club as they had just put two new ones in this gym.
I arrived the gym and first checked the sauna in the womens locker room and it had 4 hot spots of very high EMF readings, OVER 100 miligaus. My boyfriend and the gym manager went into the mens and found out that it had the same hot spot issues.
I emailed Bruce and told him my findings, and he first responded with «That is impossible, there must be an error», I said «In both of them?»
He said he would have Dr. Duncan call me, which he did. I spoke with Dr Duncan, he assured me that the floor switch was causing the high readings, and it was a simple issue that could be turned off at will. I kept explaining to him that the high reading was from the area where you sit, not the floor. He assured me it was just the floor switch that should not have been installed but once turned off would resolve the issue.
Bruce came to San Diego the following week and asked me to come down to the gym so he could show me how turning off the floor switch would resolve the issue.
It did NOT resolve the issue, in addition we found that in both the women and mens sauna the front heaters were not even working at all.
Bruce said he was so confused as he had never seen this high of EMF reading before, and assured me it must have been some kind of fluke. He said he was going to contact the warehouse and Dr Duncan and contact me the next day to let me know why this was still reading over 100 miligaus (Bruce had his own EMF reader that day, and confirmed my readings)
As we were looking in the mens sauna, I noticed how the wood was busted up under the bench, and realized that it was made out of very cheap ply wood.
I have done more research on this company and found that they make their saunas in China, they use wood fillers, they use glue which outgasses and causes more illness, they also have plastic fixtures inside which when heated also out gas.
Bruce emailed me NOT with an answer to why the sauna still had a high EMF reading, or why the front heaters did not work, he simply stated that he was willing to have the warehouse inspect my sauna before it was delivered to me to ensure low EMF’s and would give me a good discount due to my inconvenience.
Uh NO Thanks!!!

Andy from Clearlight has written a follow up review stating that I didn’t give them a chance and would not come back and look again to ensure there was still not high readings. In fact I did go back and it was still reading high, that is why I contacted them again to find out why. In addition I was still going to buy a unit from them but they refused to ansywer why the saunas STILL had high readings even after they did their fix. Also Bruce pulled out his OWN EMF reader and was able to verify my reading that Andy claims I must have read incorrectly or had lack of experience.
Andy also claims that I am now somehow affiliated with some other sauna competitor that is why I wrote the bad review, and alleges that I told them I wanted to become an affiliate with another company uh what? No Andy, I NEVER said or alluded to something like that, nice try! What you are claiming against me is lible, mispresentation and pure lies. Again this shows the lack of credibility of this company and the lengths they will go to try and sell a sauna, even with the audacity to come on here and bad mouth me and lie against me.
How about telling everyone how your company offered me $ 500 to pull down this review a few months ago? (yes I still have the email!)

Well, after seeing the result that my client and I have received with our sauna I had to let others know. I own a small salon on the outside of Boston and we wanted to find something different to add to the business and we chose the Clearlight Infrared Sauna from Sauna Works and we are so happy with the purchase.
We have been doing our research on infrared saunas for some time now and loved the customer service we received from these guys. We are using it for a variety of different things with our client like Eczema, weight loss, and even detoxing. And people are seeing some quick results.

Great quality product. Local company. Wonderful service. It helps me shake off our cold, wet SF mornings and gets super tight lower back nice and loose so that I can attack my morning workout with the same vigor I did in my 20s!

I hate being cold! My old bones just can’t take SF weather sometimes. So I got myself a Clear Light Sauna and I am hooked! My joints feel better and I love that I could fit in the bedroom. I take a book in and read for about 20 minutes every day. I know I feel better and I look forward to having this short break from my busy life! I am not sure what those other folks are taling about but I stand by my wonderful Clear Light Sauna! and the folks were super helpful there, too!

Great sauna. I have had my sauna for years and can absolutely attest to the quality. Anyone who wants a high heat sauna stick with a traditional hot rocks.
Far infrared saunas make you feel sweat like it’s super hot but it is more comfortable with lower temperatures.
Now Unilocal– let’s see if you remove this one too. And folks– go check out the filtered reviews.

My Clearlight Sauna has never worked as was advertised. It takes hours to warm up and has never gotten to the highest temperature.
I continually expressed my disappointment and was told they would sell my Clearlight Sauna for me. Of course, they never did and I never heard from them again.
Test the brand of sauna you are interested in before you buy. Don’t believe online hype and the promises of advertising. Find a place where you can turn on the sauna, wait for it to warm up, see how warm you want it to get, and only then consider purchasing one.
And don’t buy a Clearlight!

Love these guys. Beautiful sauna. Extraordinarily friendly and helpful service. I cannot tell you how happy I am with everything about this company… and mostly, I am now enjoying my daily sauna! Yummmmmm. :)

I’m not sure why both of my 5 star positive reviews of Clearlight (and Raleigh Duncan the owner) are found only in the «filtered’ section — , but I’ll try again. (This time I’ve subtracted a star – in hopes I’ll get pass Unilocal’s ‘filtering’ system, which I don’t understand). Over a year ago we bought a Clearlight unit. I’d done a lot of research regarding Far Infrared Saunas. My biggest concern was/​is emission of EMF. Clearlight’s saunas have the lowest emissions, less than 3 units. And Raleigh Duncan, with his chiropractic background & general concern for health of people, is an informed, honest and likeable person to work with. Clearlight’s guarantee is lifetime!

I ordered a Clearlight IS-​C a few years ago and it is the best. We use it everyday and love what its done for us! My skin is fabulous and after having a baby my friends could not get over how fast I lost the baby weight. My husband uses it to help him sleep better at night… overall this sauna is amazing.
We chose Clearlight because the heaters they use are the best. I tried numerous brands and eventually tried one of theirs in SF at a spa and was sold instantly. The heaters are warmer than the carbon ones and they don’t have the burning hot areas like ceramic ones.
Just a note about the other reviewer (Dawn), it sounds like she doesn’t like anything… look at her other reviews! I love my sauna and the service I received was great. We got the sauna in 10 days just like they told us and we’ve been using it with no problems ever since. PS… My mom and a couple of friends have also ordered from Clearlight and have all been thrilled.

I love my clearlight infrared sauna! I definitely recommend owning one… I feel so rejuvenated every time I step out. Also, the people in this company are genuinely helpful and extremely well informed. I am beyond happy!
