What a tiny little park! After seeing this spot on a map, I decided to check it out during a walk around North Berkeley. It’s one of the smallest parks I’ve ever seen. There’s a little bit of lawn, a basketball hoop, a play area, a small grill, and little else. It’s in the middle of a neighborhood and looks quite safe. Probably a good spot to take your kids. The view isn’t all that great, and there aren’t sidewalks for many of the streets leading up here. I may come back to try out the grill on a less rainy day!

How awesome that someone recently reviewed this cute-as-a-button pequinito park! Near Hillside school, and just off the Whitaker path steps… Was hiking the staircases with gf when we ran into this charmed neighborhood small green… amazing it is called a park. But its being there at all makes it about as unique as the architecture of the homes in this hill neighborhood. Just loved the find.

Grizzly Peak Park is a teeny tiny park(0.23 acres) located between Miller Ave. and Sterling Ave. in NE Berkeley. It is right next to the Berkeley Hills Nursery School and some handsome looking residential homes. The park itself has a basketball court, picnic area with a barbeque, an obscured view of the San Francisco Bay(there are a lot of trees around, so it’s tough to get a panorama), a steel slide, and a sand play area. There are no restrooms and parking is on the street. This park would be great for kids. It seems well-kept and in a more affluent part of Berkeley, so if I had kids I would feel safe bringing them here.
