From my experience, Ido Oppenheimer is both a first-rate craftsman and the ideal type of contractor to work with. In planning my first kitchen remodel, I had never had a tile installation done, so I got his name from a local dealer(Import Tile in Berkeley I think, tho not positive — I visited several). From my first contact, I had that«This is the guy»(or gal, but he happened to be a guy) feeling: he was low-key but ready to engage and be helpful, and so clearly knew his stuff that I felt no need to continue down my list of names — I immediately wanted to go ahead with him. And that was before I got his estimate, which was very reasonable. Of the several tradespeople I hired in this sometimes-harrowing remodel experience, he was the stand-out. He offered suggestions and creative input tactfully, and raised all the issues that needed to be addressed about edges and interfaces and architectural considerations, etc., always in a helpful and confidence-building way. When he came to do the installation, he was prompt, clean and efficient in his work, and the result was stunning. No surprises, just a masterly installation. I’d recommend Ido without reservation.
