Came here for happy hour once and had a great time. They have a nice heated, protected outdoor area that we sat in. It’s pretty good for groups. There were 6 of us, and we could have easily fit more at our long table. The service was fine and attentive. We ordered beers and a bunch of fried foods, so no complaints there! Also, the waiter let me order a grilled cheese off the kids menu, which I always appreciate. I would definitely come back here with a group.

A chill little outpost that can suffice as that late-night(or heck, any time of night) watering hole. Lighting is dim, so you can’t see all the spilled fries on the ground or dated décor, but for medium-large groups, it’s pretty much perfect. Vibes aren’t pretentious and the service is ok – which entails taking your order and dropping off your food, that’s it. Don’t count on them water refills or if you get thirsty — just order yourself at the bar. One thing you should know is to avoid the food. We sampled pretty much every item from the fries to the onion rings, burgers to the tacos, all of it tasting extremely dry and drenched in copious amounts of oil(which is usually a good thing, until you realize that’s all you’re tasting). Stay for the chill vibes and drinks, but food might warrant a pass.

Amazing burgers — get the gluten-free bun! Better than the regular one. Also their garlic fries are to die for. Best french fries I think I’ve ever had. They have a nice outdoor area with a fire pit and fun games to play. Inside is a good place to watch a game.

Terrible service. Even though the server only had three tables to serve. He took our orders, dropped the tacos off and never visited our table again. We had to wave him down for our check. Tacos from taco Tuesday were gross. The meat in there was definitely low, low quality meat. I’ve had better meat quality in much cheaper tacos from taco trucks.

Came here with my younger brother for dinner and some beers. We sat outside where they have some propane torches to keep you warm during the colder evenings in the East Bay. Service was quick and friendly, and the first item we ordered was the fried pickles. Loved how they did dill pickle spears rather than sliced pickles; however, remember they will be quite hot when fresh out of the frier! Had the blue cheese burger as an entrée with the salad side. Quite disappointed with the salad — oily with only lettuce — and not overly enthused about the burger as there was too much bun and the meat was overcooked. Beer selection was a bit limited — lots of IPAs and a couple pale ales. Tried the one blood orange cider and was disappointed. Not many veggie options either(but not expected at a burger /bar joint). Would go back but probably order something different.

This is a solid beer garden with great beers and good food. There’s ample seating outside which give it a cool community feel. Staff are friendly and cool, though things can get hectic when the crowds come in. The food over all is very good — mostly your typical pub food, but with their own take on things. The burger was great, though a little heavily seasoned for my taste. They also have great specials like chicken parm sandwiches to mix things up.

Vegetarians/vegans rejoice! The menu features the most delicious buffalo wings you’ve been missing all your life! I enjoyed said plate and a small(yet generous) order of truffle fries. The outdoor seating is very nice and the wait staff is not only friendly, but very attentive. The prices are incredibly reasonable, and the atmosphere is casual for a chill evening brew and burger if you like that sort of vibe. Two thumbs up!

I was rolling around Berkeley in my Weekend Whip Black Beauty, when I spotted Moxy Beer Garden . All of a sudden I felt Parched and a Beer was just what I needed . So I rolled into Moxys Parking lot and parked . I got out and rolled in . My Server Shannon Greeted and Seated me and presented me with a Menu . Moxy has a nice Outdoor Patio that has an Outdoor Fire Pit and a Dart Board outside . They also have some Board games you can play. They have 14 Different Beers on Tap . I ordered a 21st Amendment Watermelon Wheat for my first Beer . It was a great choice !!! It was Ice Cold and Refreshing !!! Truth be Told it one of my Favorite beers. I then ordered the Truffle Garlic Fries with an extra Truffle Dip for $.75 Extra . While I was waiting I ordered a Fieldwork Chocolate Stout . Another one of my Favorites and a Very filling beer. Shannon brought my Truffle Fries it was a nice size portion and very tasty . They have a lot of nice Burgers on the Menu that Ill try on my next visit . I paid by Credit Card and rolled out.

I drove by Moxy for awhile before I convinced my guy that we needed to try it out for Happy Hour, which is 4pm-7pm Everyday! They also have taco Tuesdays with $ 1.50 tacos all night. We started coming in when the Warriors were in the NBA playoffs, they offer deals when the game is on — including food and beer specials. We quickly starting coming regularly and had my sister meet up with us to watch the game. They have an excellent selection of draft beer and in bottles. Not of that domestic bud or coors crap(sorry, no likey). They do not have a full bar, beer and wine only. The patio is a nice place to hang out and they have shaded and sunny areas. We have had the tacos, the parmesan fries, the garlic fries, the black and blue burger and the chili and it has all been good and a great price for the quality. The burgers are big, so I highly suggest sharing with a side salad or fries. Nice summer time place for beer lovers and sports fans looking for a low key spot.

Ommm nom nommmm. I had dinner here yesterday with a friend and I was so impressed with everything here. Fun outdoor atmosphere, delicious food with excellent quality ingredients, huge portions and decent prices. We ordered the spicy chicken wings which came with AWESOMEYUMMY buttermilk dipping sauce, I believe it had fresh dill or other herbs, oh my gooooodness y’all, seriously you haven’t lived until you’ve tried their buttermilk dipping sauce!!! The wings had a nice spicy kick and good flavor but I especially loved the sauce on the wings ;) Also got a nice juicy cheeseburger with Tillamook cheddar, which was satisfying, I liked their pickles as well, and also a side salad that was very fresh tasting, and we also shared a «small» order of truffle fries. which was a huge heaping bowl of them! And we ate until we could eat no more. Now I know for next time, just sharing the wings and the fries would be plenty of food for 2 people. We also ordered a couple of beers($ 4 during happy hour) and our total bill including all food and beer was $ 30. I’d definitely go again !

A small disappointment at Moxie. I live around the corner from Moxie and HAVEENJOYED eating there about once or twice a month since they opened a few years ago. I and three friends went to Moxie around 6pm Wednesday 24 June. We ordered four burgers medium and medium rare. All the burgers arrived well done. We enjoyed each others company as we ate, but noticed how well done they were after taking a few bites. The burgers were tasty enough to continue eating them. When our excellent server, Jesus, stopped by and we told him about the well done burgers, he offered to replace them, but we had already eaten at least half and did not want to create a fuss. I wanted to tell the manager about the well done burgers but could not find him.

I had a chicken sandwich and a beer flight. Good beer and nice atmosphere! The chicken was seasoned really well and the lettuce and tomatoes were fresh! Would definitely come again for a chill evening.

3.5 stars(hoping to increase after my net visit) I ventured here on a Sunday night primarily to pick up some vegetarian food and options are lacking(locally/walkable). I ordered the vegan buffalo wings $ 8, truffle fries(S)$ 3.50 and garlic fries(L)$ 6 and a glass of wine $ 7(If I recall correctly) while I waited The server was kind and poured a GENEROUS glass of wine. This was not only appreciated but just overall ‘What’s Up’ The Garlic fries and the chipotle aioli were both good. The L was actually large(enough that I could have nixed the other order of fries) The S(S standing for Shitload, this is not a complaint) order of truffle fries did leave something to be desired, as did the aioli(which tasted very much like plain mayo) and most of them ended up composted the following day when they weren’t consumed as left-overs. The vegan wings were soggy & a bit strange but the sauce was quite tasty. I would definitely like to try these again bcs I am hoping it was because they were boxed up to go that they ended up being so MEH. My friend is not so eager to give these a second chance though. The food was a little overpriced at face-value but worth it situationalyl

Garlic fries are the best! 4 dollar beers for happy hour — can’t beat it! Teacher friendly and open outdoor space! Excellent wait staff and great music! Overall, excellent place to chill for everything and right near my home :)

They now allow dogs on the patio(on leash and tied to the fence). Also, their music has improved! Yay! Now I’m hoping they start serving German beer…

this place wold be better as a bar only, the food was horrible. I ordered the blackened turkey burger, which it came with some NASTY spicy season and was not good. I came with a party of 3 people and for an appetizer we had the chicken wings again… came with over spiced not really listed on the menu. I wanted to return my food yet being with 3 people… not coming back to this place.

Moxy is a cool little beer garden/trailer with a large patio setup not too far from Ashby BART for those that like to BART and drink. They have a parking lot if you end up driving here, which means you don’t have to waste time finding parking in the neighborhood. The heat lamps outside, ensure you stay cozy on those cool Bay Area evenings. We came here solely for the Vegan cauliflower Buffalo Wings, and those did not disappoint. Crispy, crunchy outside texture with a perfectly cooked cauli-interior. The Buffalo sauce claimed to be Frank’s, yet it had very little burn. I’m a hot sauce fanatic, so I can see it just being me wanting more of the fiyah. However, when my babygirl is able to stomach more than a nibble, I know the sauce isn’t as hot as you get elsewhere. Although she mostly stuck to eating the carrots and celery that comes on the side. The cauliflower is still full of flavor and highly recommended if it weren’t for the cost @ $ 8, and the fact they have the moxy to include a non-Vegan buttermilk dressing with the Vegan labeled«wings». Although it is appreciated that they mention it being«Vegetarian» in the description. C’mon, Just Mayo is just so damn easy to turn into delicious, creamy ranch dressing. On the beer front, there wasn’t too much creativity in their selections. I looked at the beer menu and realized I have had 11 of the 14 beers on tap. I’m not sure if this speaks to me having drank too much beer, or Moxy not thinking outside the box when it comes to sourcing new suds. I’m going with the latter on that one. This place has potential, and I’m sure I’ll be back if they ever get a Vegan dressing to go with their tasty Vegan cauliflower bites.
