This is close to my work, so I’m in here often. The owner is incredibly friendly and the café is cute and comfy. I always get a soy latte and it’s almost always made good. When it’s busy, it can be a little off tho, but I don’t blame the owner, since he’s the only one that works there. There is a nice selection of pastries and snack to choose from. They also make sandwiches and salads. The sell chips, candy, croissants, bagels and cream cheese, and some random things. Ample seating in the front and back of the café. Street parking, on stuart(free for 2 hours) or metered parking on Telegraph. Beware of week night afternoons, when school is in session, there is a lot of middle schoolers around 2 – 4 pm. But its summer now, so its nice and quiet.

It’s a no-frills establishment, but the coffee is very good(Taylor Maid), and the cups are generous. I probably would stick to the drip coffee versus ordering an espresso drink; no fancy latte-art here, but genuinely friendly service and an affordable, very decent cup of joe.

I’m not sure how this place ended up with 3 stars. It’s quiet, cozy, totally unpretentious with wifi and plenty of seats and outlets. I just got a massive organic sale with a side of bread for $ 8. Best coffee shop to work from near north end of college ave, short walk over to telegraph.

One of the best study spots in Berkeley. Great natural light, lots of tables, and friendly owner. Try the Turkish coffee– delicious and one of the few places that serves it in the area.

I’ve heard there is some tasty food here, but I’m giving this place five stars just as a place to do work. Spacious, friendly, quiet. Really nice. Friendly man working the counter. I felt at home.

Pretty quaint café with Wi-Fi. Good, affordable drinks and plenty of seating. Can get stuffy sometimes, but usually isn’t too crowded. Come here if you want some solitude to get some work done.

This café is perfect for getting work done — there’s always plenty of tables near outlets and the bathroom is averagely clean, unlike some other cafes in Berkeley that will go unnamed. It’s almost always extremely quiet and although the food selection includes a lot of snacks, the falafel here is pretty decent. The vibe here is nice and the owner is friendly.

Nice to have a neighborhood coffee shop creating a relaxed atmosphere. Very friendly. Great organic coffee. And lots of power outlets if working on wifi is your thing.

Very good iced coffee. Gets a bit loud in there in there mid-afternoon when throngs of school kids come in. They seem a to have a nice selection of pastries, sandwiches, Mediterranean food.

Spring Break 2015 in CA… Nice little café on a corner of Telegraph right across the street from the Rose Garden Inn. This is sort of a bare bones type of café but it still seems to work just fine. The coffee selection was nice and the coffee itself was very good. They have a small selection of sweets to go with your coffee or tea and they were nice too. All the bakery items are made somewhere else and brought in, but still and all they were a nice accompaniment. They also had a number of sandwich items but we did not have any of these… they looked fair. IMHO stick with the coffee and a sweet and you’ll never go wrong. The store itself is pretty small… a number of two-person tables along one wall and a few couch seats around a coffee table in front… not much but just enough. Lots of wall outlets for your laptop and easy-to-use WIFI. A couple of large windows frame the front of the store and as such bring in a lot of natural light. There are also a couple of street side tables for those wishing al fresco. Seems to be run by one guy who was pleasant and helpful.

It’s really nice to find a business where people are honest, nice, and trustworthy. I went in yesterday to grab a snack with a friend before going to an event nearby. I don’t carry a purse often, and therefore forgot it under my seat, which was right by the window. It was only at the end of the event, when I reached to grab my purse that I realized that it was missing! Total panic ensued, but I had a little sliver of hope because the guy who worked behind the counter had been really friendly when we were ordering our drinks… could it be still there? could he have kept it for me? YES! The next morning when I called, he said he had it. He remembered me, and where I sat, and when I came to pick it up, he was really nice about it. He’d checked the bag and noted that there was a wallet inside, so he knew I must have paniced. Everything was as I left it. So relieved for his nice deed. It’s nice to be in a community where people look out for one another.

Came here to get some work done, and it’s perfect for that. Okay, to be fair, the interior is kind of crappy and the food/offerings don’t seem super great or diverse(they had looseleaf teas but I couldn’t figure out what they were! Nothing Bundt Cakes are also there) BUUUUT, the coffee wasn’t bad and my teapot of black tea was nice…(and the sandwiches my friends got looked hearty and nice!) the BEST thing was the wifi, the quiet roomy space and natural light, and the awesome owner. He gave us a warning about time, and then waited patiently for us to finish packing up. He was super good-natured about everything and I just felt that THAT deserved the 5 stars definitely. PS the bathroom was pleasantly a surprise — super clean. Also, parking along the side streets aren’t bad, and yeah. I’d definitely come here to work.

Pros: Lots of seating Outlets everywhere Accommodating service, very nice guy Lots of options of drinks and snacks Open until 9pm The chai latte is great! Cons: Bad sandwich order. I ordered a roast beef sandwich when I was at the point of being super hungry. It was a deli sandwich with cucumber, loads of mayo and mustard, 2 thin slices of meat… baked in an oven. I cant imagine why anyone would want this kind of sandwich warm, and it doesn’t specify on the menu at all that it is a hot sandwich. when you consider that the meat was seriously skimped, and it was a $ 6 sandwich… I regretted buying it as soon as I looked at it let alone took a bite. On the other hand my boyfriend liked it, but while I’m not picky about food, he is far from it and didn’t pay for it. Overall I would recommend this place because there are a lot of accommodations and the owner is working hard to provide a great experience… but just don’t assume anything about what you’re ordering. Ask questions.

I like the service. No frills, straight up coffee, get-in, get-out service. But of course if you want to stay there’s plenty of space in the back room which is well lit with natural lighting. Plenty if small tables to snuggle up to next to a wall and thankfully, a power outlet. It also feels like a friendly mom and pop shop. A lot of the neighborhood kids also trickle in to buy ice cream. The prices are reasonable too. $ 2.75 for a latte! come here to avoid the student crowd from the cafés closer to campus.

Come here for: –fast and free WiFi –a well-lit study spot with large windows and lots of seating –friendly customer service –a large menu –cool photography on the walls –comfy leather couches at the front Do not come here for: –delicious or fresh-tasting food –iced tea(it’s actually just hot tea and they throw a couple ice cubes in it so you get diluted lukewarm tea) –comfy wooden chairs –a coffee shop vibe/atmosphere All in all it’s a fantastic place if you have some time to kill or you need an internet connection but it’s more of a study place or a place to chat with friends rather than a café for coffee and pastries.

This is a nice café and is goto when I’m looking to get some work done outside of the office. Great natural light in the large back room which generally has plenty of seating(during the week). The food is affordable and there is a good tea selection. The Wi-Fi is solid and overall this is great place to sit down and get an hour or two of work done.
