I really like that they fry their eggs for breakfast sandwiches, rather than microwave them in a plastic tub. Very good, as long as I specify cheddar, not American cheese. If they gave me 2 slices instead of one, they would get another star.

Ordered the chicken soup, chicken Caesar wrap, and chicken fingers. 1) The chicken soup was full of grease, noodles were soggy and to top it off — i opened the container to find a hair on the very top of the soup. NOTAPPETIZING. 2) Chicken in the wrap was overcooked and there were a TON of croutons inside. Will NEVER order that again! 3) Chicken finger meal included 3 strips and a few fries. Hardly worth the money and fries were cold and soggy. Will NEVER order from this place again.

We had breakfast delivered via EAT24 this morning. Nice surprise for me, Bagels and cream cheese. Partner had a breakfast burrito which he said was very good. I had the«bagels» and any relationship between those Wonder bread bagels and real bagels was… well the shape maybe… terribly disappointing. Roxie needs a new supplier. We won’t be getting bagels again from Roxie

I got one of their specialties(grilled chicken sandwich) it was so good! It came with grilled mushrooms and onions. I got all the basics but no cheese, I would recommend adding mustard. Good paid about $ 7 for it and it filled me up. I want to try the steak fries next time they looked good also

Love their mochas! I’ve been going to Roxie for years and they have always been a positive contribution to the community. Bill, the owner, and staff are friendly and super nice to customers as well. I use to go there so often he had my order memorized :) Great place to stop whenever I’m in the neighborhood! I know I can always count on a good sandwich and latte to go… and they deliver – I Love it!!!

I had a breakfast burrito that was good and a cup of coffee. Nice people. I like to come here and read and have coffee or breakfast/snack before work or when with a friend.

My husband is a Roxie fan. He’s been a regular for several years; he’ll order a coffee and some small/tasty snack, and sit in the casual(no-frills) dining area and enjoy the WiFi. I’ve eaten here only a couple of times, but the food is good and reasonably priced. In 2012, one of our pre-wedding rituals involved performing a «Satyanarayan puja» at my husband’s family home. He asked the San Leandro Badarikashrama swami to perform the puja, and wanted to use Roxie to cater for the approximately 15 – 20 guests. I remember his mother was skeptical–«you’re going to serve *Mediterranean* food to a south Indian swami?». Heck, I thought it was odd too– what! sacrilege! you’re not serving dal/bhaat?!- but, you know what? My husband was 100% right. The dolma, falafel, pita/hummus, and wraps HITTHESPOT. Swami Omkarananda and his assistant priest were also appreciative, pointing out, «We get Indian food *all the time*; this is new and nice!» Roxie’s is a solid spot to have nearby. Every neighborhood should be this lucky.

Solid place to grab a sammy. They also have breakfast as well, and they deliver – which can come in clutch after a night of heavy drinking. Overall a great place to stop. Friendly, fast service and good food.

I usually like to visit a business a few times before writing a review unless the service was absolute shit. In this case I’ve been coming to Roxies on and off over the past couple of months and always get Steak Fries! Sure the food tasted great like it always does but the service was poor. Usually the employees are very friendly and welcoming. They ensure every need is met. Friday proved not so. I was glared at, given a very sullen facial expression by the cook and the owner Bill didn’t seem to be in the mood to interact with customers. He was soon out the door ~ 3:15p. When my order was up I was given a carton that would not stay closed, no napkins, no utensils or even asked if I’d like a bag. But, that’s okay I’ll take my money somewhere else. I don’t understand how everyone in the building could be having a bad day.

I came here the other day and ordered the Steak Fries that the owner(Bill) recommended that I order; to say the least, this was one of the best meals I have ever had. Come try it out, you won’t regret it :)

Ordered BLT, Caesar Salad, Buffalo Chicken Wrap, and Chicken Strips for delivery. Chicken strips were the best part. smaller portion but thats okay. BLT was next in line, it was good too, but for the price, it was pretty skimpy. bacon was paper thin, and soft, not crispy. the caesar salad was horrible. The dressing was sour, i think it went bad. the lettuce was rotting, brown/black on the edges, and soft, and the croutons were squishy. safe to say that entire salad was just thrown out. The buffalo chicken wrap didnt taste like buffalo chicken at all. it tasted almost like they just poured a bunch of tabasco into the wrap. Peppery. not buffalo style spicy. I wasnt expecting gourmet by any means. but ill pass on this place next time.

I came in here last week for some lunch as I had just had a meeting in the area. To my surprise, this corner deli made one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. The Dutch crunch and and the pastrami were to die for, the prices were unbeatable, and the customer service was fantastic. Highly recommended.

Roxie’s takes the word ‘deli’ to a completely new level. The variety of the menu is unmatched in the area, and the scrupulousness of the cuisine itself, coupled with the pristine manner in which each dish is crafted, rivals any top eatery in the East Bay. Bill, the owner, has run this place with such warmth and heart over the past 30 years, while the staff itself is equally as amiable. Thank you Bill and family for running and maintaining Berkeley’s top notch deli, a true cornerstone of the area. Each visit is truly a pleasure!

I used to go to Roxie’s all the time(over 15) YEARS ago and was always pleased with my sandwiches and other deli items. I was probably a little too excited to finally be able to order lunch from them. The delivery person was friendly and the service was faster than quoted. They also included a banana when I mentioned that the cookies(2/$ 1.50) I ordered were to meet the delivery minimum & I’d had preferred to have ordered fruit… that is where the positives end I was Very Disappointed with the food quality(& quantity to some extent). The Middle Eastern Dish($ 5.99) was listed as vegetarian but did not include a description so I took a chance(based on the several Middle Eastern & Mediterranean combos I have ordered from different locations over the years)… It included 3 dolma(not delicious-2 ½ ended up in the compost bin), 3(Burnt) falafels(also composted), SMALL side salad(lettuce, Onions, tomato, dressing), small(maybe 2 Tbs-served in a dressing/dipping cup) of hummus(meh), 4 olives and a Spinach? TORTILLA Wrap(bleh!) The avocado sandwich($ 5.24 +.25 additional for cheese) actually made me feel like a dumb ass for having ordered it. I could(SHOULD) have made a better one with what I had in my kitchen. I assumed(because of my past experiences here, having looked at the pics and been given a bread choice) that it would be on a roll. However it was made on two slices of stale bread which were literally breaking apart(crumbling upon trying to pick it up) with mayo knifed on one side/mustard on the other(rather than hummus or artichoke/spinach dip I had gotten used to expecting some time ago). It included some(real) avocado(mushy, a bit brown and in between veggies-leaving the pieces to go sliding/gliding off the sandwich), lettuce, tomato, jalapenos & pickle(I requested no onions). The sandwich had no deli sides nor were any offered from their online menu. It was served in a plastic to-go container even though it seemed, to me, completely unwarranted(and thus wasteful) My friend was unhappy with the fish and chips($ 5.99), his complaints prompted me to photograph a piece. He complained of it being chewy and I observed that quite a bit was hollow(inside of the fried batter) and overcooked. This was not overly-surprising though but warranted a mention. The 3SMALL lunches(just UNDER $ 25 W/tax & tip) left us unsatisfied and disgruntled

The Caesar wrap was good but they put tooooooo much sauce. Due to that, I ended up throwing it away But the chicken inside was super good. I think next time I’ll try the chicken teriyaki wrap

I like this place for a quick lunch spot, but everything I’ve ever tried here was just basically average in terms of taste and quality. I’ve tried their cheeseburgers as well as their steak fries and although both were fresh, made to order, and reasonably priced;they didn’t do much to excite my palette and separate themselves from every other burger joint. When I eat common food items like burgers, fries, and sandwiches; I look for that one ingredient that«pops“or stands out to me. Often times this one item could be something as complex as a special meat blend or even something as simple as fresh cut potatoes for fries, but this place likes to stick to the«norm» by using frozen crinkle cut fries and pre-sliced bread. I’ll definitely return to this place because they are affordable and hospitable, but I just wish they could step their game up; so I could give them a higher rating.

I had the enigmatically named«Bill’s Special»(all sandwiches are listed without descriptions of what’s in them) which was a tasty mix of pastrami, cheese, onions, and mushrooms. What prevents the score from being higher is that there wasn’t enough fillings to fill out the whole sandwich. There was at least an inch on both ends of my dutch crunch roll devoid of filling, or close to 35% of the sandwich. It’s also kinda weird they close at 4.

I love Roxie Deli! Excellent place for a reasonably priced lunch. My favorite is Bill’s Special. It’s a good deal for the amount of food you get and comes out relatively quick(for a place that does everything fresh.) I work a block away and this has become my go to spot for coffee in the morning as well. Nothing fancy here, just straight up good food and solid prices. They also just added a chicken kebob plate that’s very good as well, with homemade seasoning.

Roixie is great! I’ve been patronizing them for years. Best burger and fries for a bargain price to boot. Wonderful salads and soup, too. Bill, the proprietor, is one of the nicest men in the world. His staff is wonderful and the store itself is clean. He’s owned it for the last 40 years and many, many, many people who used to work there as students, etc., still come to visit him. It lends to the nice ambiance that permeates this small slice of Heaven. Go! You will not be disappointed, and your wallet will thank you as well. :)

Time: 3:23pm/69°F sunny Purpose: Call on here couple of times for possible talks. Today I call they answer what a surprise. Sadly when I got there they were about to closed and was told to hurry up with what I have to offer. I almost said look here I don’t know what’s going on here prior to me calling but don’t tell me to hurry up, you can tell me to try back another instead. Ambiance: Bill itself as a deli to me it seems like an convience store with a kitchen in front, 3 massive fridge with cold drinks. Most delis have outdoor seating and tables inside, not here. First sign of trouble was the fruitfull mini freezer by the entrance. As I walk around menus were written out on standard 8.5×11 white fax paper with a marks-a-lot marker, very cheesy. The overhead menu has errors but minor ones not a big deal. Just think of an unorganized 7 – 11 here and nothing more. Staff: When walk in there was two ladies working pacing around cleaning up. I said I was here to see the owner. They said I just miss him about 5mins ago god dammit I just talk to him. How far can he go in 5mins? I ask if it’s possible to call him back both ladies look at each other thinking are you crazy? It just happens to be closing time for them and that’s why the two was hurrying me. Wait a minute it’s not even 3:30 yet and sign said closed at 4pm. I guess they get paid up to 4pm only anything after is no pay. Cleanliness: Clean from the outside once inside use your imagination. Eats/Drinks: Wanted to go after the posted healthy week special. In this special you get any listed salad and a cup of soup for $ 6.50. I was pissed so ended up just a bottle of evian water $ 2.19 Products: Chips, sandwiches, wraps, drinks, soup, salad, desserts, combos, sides, breakfast, popsicles, juicebars, plates, create your own, fresh fruits, veggies, candies, energy drinks, coffee, premade foods. Punch Lines: Nearby gas stations, rental cars, home deco shops, houses, busy intersection, street parking, transportation, easy to find, grumpy workers, poor ventilation, no eye contact. Final Thoughts: With a name Roxie I was thing this might be an easy picking meaning easy account. This plan backfire on me today as I was told to cone in a certain time then person in charge wasn’t even there so I left with 8 mins max. The workers attitudes really shows me what they’re dealing with day in day out, cross out on list, moving on…
