Great coffee shop to set up shop with your laptop. Nice selection of teas. Good baked goods.

Bad coffee and terrible Internet we’re the highlights of my visit. I don’t intend to find out if anything else is good.

I will never patronize this business again. Unfortunately one of the employee’s at Sak’s ruined my impression of this place. It was an extremely hot day and I went in and ordered an iced americano. The barista started to make the drink and I didn’t notice she made it hot. When she handed me the cup I proceeded to tell her I ordered an iced drink and she then sighed very loudly and deliberately in my face. Never again, unless they are the only source for coffee if there is a zombie apocalypse.

I come here often to work — in fact my «open office hours» are held here. The abundance of power plugs is great. Free WiFi and good music is nice, too. Just be careful with parking, they do enforce the 2h limit quite seriously. I had a few friends with tickets there…

The internet can be a bit spotty, and the tables are ridiculously tiny… but I guess I get the fact that they want to encourage people to drink and eat, not sit and study. Pick your spot well, because it can fill up quickly, and on a sunny day the spots near the window are unbearable. Also got to give them credit for making sure lots of plugs are available. Sandwiches are delicious! Love the Rare earth. but it’s $ 7. Conveniently, the accept credit cards :) They give a nice pot of tea for cheap, the only pain is that they won’t let you get two cups. which is sort of a pain with the tiny tables. It earned its 4th star for its convenience. Good to have a place like this in the area.

A new café on College, across the street from the Julia Morgan Center(replaced what used to be the real estate offices), and next to the Derby Market. Relatively large café, with lots of tables, and window seating with«saks» for you to lean against(hence the name). Can get a bit crowded on weekends, but have always been able to find a good table during the week. There is free wifi Internet, and plenty of plugs so you can plug in your laptop. They have a great selection of breakfast and veggie bagels, as well as the usual coffee/tea, sandwiches, cakes, etc.
