Shotgun Floral Studio’s creative and unique floral design perfectly captured our vision and vibe for our wedding. I hadn’t researched or requested specific blooms; I was open to Emily’s inspiration. As my beloved insightfully noted, we were working with an artiste! Our rehearsal dinner was a farm-to-table meal and we served stone fruit pies for dessert. Arrangements were full of soft pinks, oranges, and pops of a richer burgundy, which tied into the wedding palette the next day. The table was strewn with seasonal fruits, as though a late summer harvest was spilling down the middle of the table. It matched the setting perfectly. The full, soft flowers gave the evening a feeling of tenderness and intimacy, which was exactly the atmosphere we wanted to create to honor our closest friends and family. Shotgun even coordinated with our planners to have the flowers brought to the wedding suite for getting ready the next day. Perfect! Florals for the wedding day were rich, warm colors in wild arrangements. My beloved’s suit was indigo blue and so the flowers also pulled for that color, with wild blueberries and accents of indigo and turquoise. I felt like the flowers really taped our spirit colors. If I were a flower arrangement, I would be the large gold chalice overflowing with blooms that sat at our table. The ambiance that was created was one of decadence with, yes, even a hedonistic flavor… because why not, it’s our wedding!!! One truly inspired aspect of the floral design was their ephemeral quality. There was a feeling that all the spaces we used for the wedding were made sacred by the florals. They gave the feeling of preciousness, a kind of beautiful and transient garden. Emily used a spectrum of flowers, from little buds to late-stage blooms and greenery. If you’ve seen flowers in this stage of their bloom, they are the richest in their color and scent, but will wilt in just a few days. This is the time when they are the most glorious. Working with Shotgun Floral was working with artists. If you come in with a lot of your own ideas, I would encourage you to be open to their inspiration. Describe the kind of ambiance you hope to create for your guests and let the team have some creative license; you will not be disappointed!
