Adding to the earlier review, the park is approachable from above on Fairlawn or below on Queen’s. There’s parking for maybe 5 cars on Queen’s, though some of the parking might be taken by local residents. The two barbecue grills were available and not cordoned off. Basketball courts have seen better days. I’d survey before planning anything more than the most casual game. I didn’t see dog poop.

In search of higher ground — with all this rain I figured it might be drier up there — I ventured up the hill to Terrace View Park. Driving along Fairlawn it was easy enough to see from the street, despite the much appreciated presence of tall trees. There’s a small enclosed playground, a pair of swings over a patch of sand, one small patch of grass, all with small toys strewn about, like the hill of misfit toys. The yellow caution tape surrounding the closed-off barbecue area was slightly disconcerting, and the four basketball hoops on the lower grass-less section of the park made the space feel like a parking lot . In what seems to be a signature of all the parks I’ve visited lately, there were two giant mounds of dog business on the grass and on the sand. At least these people are consistent.
