Their breakfast club sandwich is to die for !! Comes with hash browns and it great ! Yes it is little pricey but you pay for what you get and you get aA LOT !!!. If you are in the area and you want breakfast for dinner stop at Cocos. The owner is such a great guy !! And definitely ask for the history behind the restaurants name

Well, I personally love pastrami hash. We have been coming here for a couple of years and the service is always good and the food is consistently good. Our go to breakfast place.

Update: I took the hubby and son back for a dine in experience. I got the Coolidge Club, son got the french toast stars and my husband got the stuffed french toast. I wish I could remember the actual name of this delicious piece of heaven on a plate. It was stuffed with cream cheese and cinnamon apples and hubby said it was the best french toast he’s ever had! I had a bite and wholeheartedly agreed. My son enjoyed his french toast and sausage amd i enjoyed my sandwich as well. We will be back often!

So my wife Bettina, and myself have been looking for a go to breakfast place for a long time. Seeing as how my wife has celiac, this is actually very difficult! I read their menu and gluten free offerings here online, so I came in expecting that… What I did not expect was one of the best breakfast experiences I have ever had! They can make just about anything gluten free, and it is all amazing. No risk of cross contamination! The staff is all incredibly friendly! Coffee is piping hot and delicious. My wife and I looooooved our stuffed French toast. And we were both in love with the fact that hers was 100% gluten free. The hash browns were awesome and gluten free as well. We will be back next Sunday for breakfast to try more of your amazing food!

On this Day I came to check out this place and it was«crowded». You had to wait in line until a table or stool is free for you to sit at. Early Saturday morning is very crowded but worth the wait. Received my breakfast looking out into the streets of Berkely was a great sight. The breakfast was delish and I will return with my family so they can try it out. Will do on a slow day

We stopped by for breakfast today based on other reviews. We were seated immediately which was great on a Sunday morning. My husband was a great fan of the Zingerman’s coffee. He’s picky about his coffee so that was a good start. He ordered the California omelet with rye toast. There was nothing left on the plate when he got through with it. He usually offers me a bite but he conveniently«forgot». I ordered the pancakes with cinnamon apples, a side of bacon & iced tea. The pancakes were pretty darn good. I am SUPER picky about pancakes and I left with a smile. The apples were darn fantastic. The bacon was a little underdone for me but it had a really good taste. I actually didn’t mind eating it underdone. I believe we will be back. Next time I go for the chicken & waffles!

3.5 Stars — I went in here with high expectations in light of the reviews and I was not disappointed, but was not wowed. I get why people like this place and if I lived in Berkley, I would definitely be a regular, but it is not good enough for me to make a point of going back. I went on a Saturday and it was super busy, and with patrons of all ages. I tried the the Sunnyknoll Savory Waffle and my file got the Coco’s Special Omelette. The food was solid and the atmosphere was cute and sort of retro hip. Overall, a good eating experience and it is certainly worth a visit if you are looking for new breakfast options in the Metro Area.

I have only been here for breakfast a few times not lunch or dinner and the food was ok. They do separate themselves with the gluten free options which is a nice edge to have but the food itself is ok. On this occasion I had the French toast which was pretty big and tasted good the first few bites then had a funny after taste and got mushy after a few minutes. But on the other hand the eggs, bacon and hash browns tasted fine. Oh and I tried the pancakes my kid had and same thing just eh. The staff was nice and my waitress was sweet. I didn’t care for the cleanliness of the high chair my son was in. I had to wipe it down because it was very sticky. I get it kids are gross but they do need to hit them with a rag before giving them to customers.

The GFDM family enjoyed a very nice gluten-free breakfast here yesterday. Our sever was nice and the owner took a moment to speak to us about our food selection and how gluten-free foods were prepared. Our meal was delivered in a timely manner and the children were able to color while waiting. Our food wasn’t culinary genius but it was good and filled our bellies without making us sick. Been wanting to visit for a while and decided to an hour before closing time(3pm on a Thursday). I walked in and noticed it was quaint and well decorated. There’s a cool wall full of crazy clocks and lots of funny references to bacon. I was greeted and seated quickly. There was one other patron inside and they referenced him by name. I looked over the menu and ordered the cream cheese stuffed french toast with apple compote, the homemade turkey bacon and raspberry lemonade. The food didn’t take long to arrive and was hot and fresh. The french toast was huge! I literally ate half of one piece and asked for a box. The box came lined with foil. Very thoughtful. I killed that sausage though. It was juicy and flavorful. The lemonade wasn’t very good, but the server took it off my bill without me even asking. Very nice service. Very tasty and plentiful food. And definitely more than just breakfast. Lots of special off-menu options on the board as well as a lunch menu opposite the breakfast menu. But this is also worth mentioning. I like to see a place throughout the day: when they open, during their rush, during a lull and right before closing time. I witnessed the server mopping the little ledge where your feet rest when sitting on the bar stools with steaming hot mop water. Wow! She didn’t miss anything. Very clean. Very fresh. I will definitely be back. – VISIT2 They earned that 5th Star. Awesome menu, awesome«special menu» concoctions, and perfect service. This spot is a not-so-hidden gem of Berkley.

I am only reviewing breakfast so please ignore my review if you are only interested in reading about lunch or dinner. So now that you have taken the time to review my non review of lunch and dinner you will be disappointed to hear I probably should not have written a review for breakfast either. I can find the same breakfast with the same service at three other restaurants in the area. I’m really not complaining, I just don’t find this place to be anything special.

Food was for sure good overt priced but good. The staff sucked though. I went to have breakfast by myself one morning walked in and was greeted by a brash woman at the front counter telling me to sit anywhere she promptly came over with water and a place setting then I sat there for another 20 minutes before a waitress had come over. The waitress thought I was waiting for someone so didn’t bother until she was told I was by myself. I ordered tea and placed my order California omelet. It was good but it said it had avocado. It was the 3 tiniest pieces of avocado you would have ever seen. Then the waitress never came over to check on and was sent home before I was even done with my meal. Moral of the story, don’t go there by yourself!

The value of Coco Fairfields lies more in the service, décor(lots of quotes about bacon on the walls), and location than in the food. The food tastes great and the ingredients they use are fresh and natural, but the food is on par with a lot of other restaurants around Metro-Detroit, like Original Pancake House in Birmingham and Frittata in Clawson. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. We walked in around 9:00AM and got greeted and seated. She took our drink orders, I ordered an orange juice and my wife ordered a coffee. They have Zingerman’s Coffee and it was one of the best cups of joe that my wife has ever had. The orange juice was pretty good. The restaurant serves lunch and breakfast and it is located right on 12 Mile in Downtown Berkley, which is a great thing to see-a delicious breakfast spot that is part of the community. I orderd the Sunnyknoll Waffle, which was topped with an egg cooked to order(mine was over easy) and some hollendaise sauce. The waffle itself had spinach and red peppers in the batter. I also ordered a side of sausage links. The waffle was cooked perfectly and so was the egg and there was plenty of flavor. However, it was missing a savory or sweet element, so I think an omelette is the way to go at this place. My wife ordered the vegetarian omellette and she loved it. The only downside is the food is expensive. Our meal was $ 30 with tip.

A really solid, friendly, affordable local place for breakfast and lunch. With places like Nip ‘n Tuck, Mae’s and this nearby, there really aren’t a lot of reasons to leave the area for breakfast. A few key features that make this place such a pleasure to have around: — The ownership and staff are really friendly. When you’re dealing in breakfast items that don’t vary a TON from place to place, customer service makes a huge difference. — Their waffles are some of the lightest, fluffiest and eggiest that I’ve ever had. Honestly, the pictures don’t do justice to them. They have a «secret batter recipe» that they make fresh every single morning, and it makes all the difference. — They almost always have a few interesting specials, which generally go quite a bit beyond simply offering one or two slightly different omelette varieties(the apparent norm for a lot of places’ «specials»). — They know how to make an omelette that’s creamy and moist, rather than browned to oblivion and dry as dust. — They have very good coffee — a feature that some breakfast joints lack, which is mindblowing to me. — The prices are very reasonable. If you live in the area and haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out.

Coco Fairfield’s is a solidly good brunch place. For me, nothing over-the-top amazing, but definitely good. Their menu just doesn’t have too many things I like on it. Not their problem(I’m pretty picky), but it’s still enough for me to take off a star. My boyfriend LOVED his cornbread waffle though, and has requested that we go at lunch time next time so he can get it with chili and cheese(it was too early for all that last time we went). I do love their salads, but if I’m in the mood for breakfast I have a hard time finding something I want. I could piece together a few things from the a la carte menu, but that always ends up being like $ 15. I’ll be back anyway though– love to support a business I can walk to!

The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. Hello, I am Heather, and I bloody well love breakfast, but I’m not willing to wait 50 minutes for a table. Detroiters know good breakfast, and they are spoiled with a variety of outstanding joints that practically everyone from here to Lansing converges on every Saturday or Sunday morning. I know their menus as distant memories more than by regular visits. Forget moseying in at 10AM on a Tuesday, I’m in a regular meeting at work. I simply cannot do long waits for an omelet anymore. Coco Fairfields is popular, a mark in its favour and against it. I’ve learned to visit here is a game of roulette where the main prize is an exquisite savory waffle drizzled in a hollandaise sauce that skirts heavy and lands right on filling, mixed with roasted red peppers, onions, spinach, and pure happiness. It’s well worth the attempt to secure parking in the hideously pockmarked back lot off Twelve Mile while sending the beau inside to secure a table and hope against hope they’ve got a free seat for my small minion. How can I not love a place with an obsession for wall clocks and homemade delectables? This is no greasy spoon, don’t think that for a second. The owners were putting up a new set of Black Forest cuckoo clocks on my most recent visit, and they were dishing out savory waffles with toasty potatoes like they were going out of style. The menu is a really delightful blend of omelets, hearty sandwiches, and savory and sweet divisions for your typical breakfast fare. The stuffed French toast is a ridiculously sweet treat bombarded with succulent berries everyone who wishes they were five wants to steal. My beau slaked his sweet tooth on it. The baby was not so impressed with his admittedly very filling and tasty silver dollar pancakes as with trying to snarf down forkfuls of daddy’s stuffed French toast. That a 17-month-old fights with a full grown man for breakfast stands on its own. Service is attentive and pleasant, with special attention paid to those little things: colouring pages and fat crayons for little hands, extra napkins, and refills on the go. We lucked out getting in earlier than normal.

One of the Very Best and Maybe Little Known Local Breakfast Spots I Could Imagine This place is off the hook. We dropped by for a late breakfast on my cousin’s recommendation. I was totally blown away by how great the food was/is. Starting with the Zingerman’s coffee and a friendly smile from our server, we ordered the French toast for her, and I had the Sunnyknoll savory waffle with roasted red peppers and spinach inside a very light and airy Belgium waffle. Topped with a chive hollandaise, a poached egg and a side of bacon, at my request, and I couldn’t have been happier! The waffle was fantastic… that said I was torn between the fried chicken slider special, the chicken and waffle special or their Robina pastrami sandwich. Any way I ventured I’m sure it would’ve been a solid choice but I haven’t seen a savory waffle before. The payoff is worth the curiosity! Prices are fair for the quality of food, the staff was super friendly and I even introduced myself to the owner, who was also amazingly friendly and proud of his joint, which he should be. It’s likely not a really well known spot yet but I suspect it’ll be mobbed once the word gets out. We were sat pretty easily at noon on a Saturday and there was plenty of counter options open. This is one of Berkley’s finest!

We came here after having to go to the pet store and thought we would explore other breakfast joints. Sad to say that the only reason for the 2 stars is the coffee they have is amazing. The food was just ok, I had a red velvet scramble which was corned beef and potatoes. Portion was small, and the meat and potatoes were both very dry. My husband got an underwhelming omelet however his hash browns were cooked well. Will not be going back 25 $ for breakfast that was not very good.
