thought this was an actual restaurant more than a market. smells horrid inside worse than a seafood restaurant or even worse than a swamp. nice lady who helped us though. not worth the wait for the food.

We stopped on our way thru on a long road trip. We had a delicious crab cake sandwich and fried oysters. Kids had great, giant chicken fingers. Hush puppies and fries were yummy. We even played corn hole while we waited. A perfect pitstop for the family.

Best place for all seafood in west Ocean City. I wish they had a restaurant attached but it is carry out. We love the crabcakes, crab pretzel, crabs, steamed shrimp, and the clams the most! We are local and stop here at least twice a month of not more.

We order crabs for pick up all the time from here and are usually never disappointed. We prefer the extra large and jumbo crabs but you would be fine getting large too as there isn’t that much of a difference and the prices are better. It’s best to eat them right away as they continue cooking when you get to the bottom of the bag and then the meat is overdone and tough to get out of the claws. The first one you eat is always the best! I would recommend calling ahead to reserve your crabs and always ask questions about sizes prior to going because they don’t always have what you want. They can’t do bushels of the larger crabs and sometimes they run out of jumbo and extra large and have to replace some with a smaller size.

We found this place on Unilocal and were extremely pleased with our lunch. It’s kind of nestled in between a gas station and a patio furniture and deck chair wholesaler. After filling up my tank at the gas, we had a couple crab cake sandwiches for a very reasonable price, including Cole slaw and some sides(corn on the cob & fries)… The place smelled absolutely delicious when we walked in and the manager and the girl working the register and preparing our food were so friendly and genuinely good-hearted and lovely people. Crab cakes were PERFECTION — true and authentic Maryland crab experience — What a pleasure! Great place to stop for a meal while making a pit stop at the nearby gas station(By the way — that’s called a complimentary business or synergy when 2 nearby businesses complement each other… Customers from one store will also frequently conduct transactions at the other.). Can’t wait to return ! Bookmark it so you will remember to check it out when heading east or west on Maryland Route 50.

I recommend Crabs To Go. I had the Combo Platter, but fried. It came with flounder, crab cake, shrimp, scallops, clam strips, and two sides(I picked onion rings and mac & cheese). I shared it with two other people. Everything, but the clam strips, was really good. They didn’t do much to the food: it must’ve just been the freshness that made it so good.

Stopped by on a whim while driving aimlessly away from Ocean City. It was our first time to this area, or state for that matter, and hadn’t really experienced crab like this before. The soup, sandwich and service was A+.

This review is based on one visit and one looking for oysters, half shell preferred. Since this place looked more like a takeout with no place to sit and eat during the winter months, I went with the Oyster Stew. I figured I’d eat in my car outside. For starters the young lady working stated she needed to call the owner first. So after ringing her boss for it seemed 2 minutes, he picked up. Turns out the cook is John and the boss said he was at the store here. Nowhere to be found for the next 3 minutes or so, John walks in just before I unluckily walked out! «John, Is the stew ready?», the young lady asked. «Yeah, I’ll take care of it», said John, as he walked over to the big pot on the small stove. With his ladle he stirred it and brought me over the plastic container stating that he thought it was hot enough since it was cooking all morning. Although I went against my judgement and assertiveness, I told him the barely warm container was good. After paying close to 8 bucks for the pint, I went out to my car. My original quote«Only one worse thing than an I told you so is an I told me so»(copy written here now but used for twenty years). The«stew» was barely warm, #1. The«stew» had nothing but oysters in it, #2. No potatoes, no nothing else. 3, the consistent was 2% milk. Wtf? #4, the butter, pepper and I’m not sure what else, stayed skim on the top. No stirring helped mix it in. And it would congeal, coagulate to a Blob-like entity while remaining on the top when stirred. Freaky. Number 5, to clinch the horrific food experience, I found and ate only 6 oysters, not all whole ones. I took some Blob photos for anyone’s entertainment. I’m so disappointed.

This place is awesome. We’ve gotten food from here many times, always take out. We’ve never had a problem with them forgetting anything, but still check your food before you leave, especially during the busy season. Yesterday we got their cream of crab soup, amazing! Soft-shell crab platter and the crab cake platter. Both were great. No frills or anything, just great seafood. Will continue to come back when we’re in town.

My sister and I were finishing up our brewery tour before she had to go home and so, we wanted to find some place that we could grab take out to go to Burley Oak Brewery(who doesn’t sell food) and I found Crabs to Go on Unilocal. After reading the reviews, we stopped in hungry and ready to grab some awesome food. And awesome food it was! I rarely ever give a place a five star rating, but from the kindness staff to the amazing quality of the food, this place is more than deserving. The crab cake sandwich(and everything is made fresh and from scratch) is AMAZING — tasty and delicious. Didn’t even need sauce it was that good. The coconut shrimp were HUGE, tasty and melt in your mouth. Everything was delicious and the prices were definitely reasonable with all of the restaurants overcharging in the area. Will definitely be back!

Not coming back. Order ahead of time they said. So we did. Come pick up at 615pm. We ordered crab cake platter, snow crab legs, old bay fries, mac&cheese, bacon shrimp, raw clams and a dozen crabs. We got our order, at 615pm. Guy at the register seemed flustered. Asked if our bags/order was ready, he doesn’t know, asks a girl behind the counter, the girl said she ‘double checked it’. Got all the way home, and saw they forgot to give us our dozen crabs. So they offered to credit our card, or they could give us a new order. So i go to pick up the new order. I go to the front of the line, ask for my order, THATTHEYFORGOT, then asks me, if they forgot anything else, i tell them no. Then i wait, and wait. Then after another 10 min, ask the status of the order, he tells me, «oh, i thought they gave you the order, in the back». Didn’t get back home until after 745pm. Now the rest of the hot hood was cold, and the cold food was room temp. Food was meh, crab cakes were aight. Mac cheese was bland. Hush Puppies were very dense. Had high hopes, because of Unilocal reviews. But the place is too chaotic and dis-organized for me to come back.

We highly recommend this place!!! We stopped here on the way to OC… conveniently located on Route 50. The food was amazing. My husband loves soft shell crabs and he said they were the BEST he has ever had! I got the oyster sandwich and it was delicious full of oysters! The fried shrimp and crab soup was amazing! The staff was so friendly. The owner(I think) was sweet enough to capture a picture of us eating on one of the picnic tables in front of the restaurant. They also have fresh seafood… if we were going to buy any we would come back here!

So, driving through Maryland, of course I wanted to stop for crab cakes. This lil shop was close to 113 and fast. I called ahead and got the crab cake sandwich… And as were heading out, a truck pulls up with about 25 barrels of fresh, live blue crabs. It was A-MAH-ZING. So reassuring because — to be honest — the crab cake looks pretty uninspired and basic. The to-go presentation is definitely below average, but that’s probably because the crab is so friggin fresh and delicious, they’re like«we don’t have to impress you. Just eat it.» I was INTOIT.

Crab cakes were good. We ordered both broiled and fried at $ 13 ea. The cakes were filled with lump crab meat. Some places u go to use old bay in their cakes. Most I think do not. The Mr. enjoys his cakes without the bay. I prefer the bay. Either way, they were still delicious. We also ordered the crab dip which was good. Price was average at $ 12. The dip was topped with cheese and old bay seasoning. Yummmm. We also ordered the jumbo 16 – 20 spiced shrimp. They were nice and seasoned. U can taste they were wild caught and not that phony farm raised kind. Lol. I’d def recommend this place and would visit again when I one back in town. Oh yeah, there is plenty outside seating. They have counter height table sets in the front of the building and picnic tables on the side. Good for large groups. We ate outside while it was drizzling outside. The rain was cool and refreshing. :)

This mostly take out venue consistently provides heavy, sizable, and sweet crabs making this our family’s favorite Go-To! Value priced. Location of catch consistently disclosed. Steamed to order assures the crabs are always hot and delicious. Plus a «bonus» bakers dozen is thrown in for free.(Although I make no promises for anyone else’s order! :)) My five stars equals LOVE!

I ordered seafood combo $ 32. They didn’t have flounder, so it became $ 25. Crab cake, 3 scallops, 3 shrimps, strips, tater salad, cole slaw. Small! They look fresh but taste a little bit strange. They should change the oil in the fryer more often. The staffs were unwilling to make a substitution for their shortage of fish. There are parking spots and many tables outside. They can handle many ppl in a nice weather.

Service is solid(they ID hard so even if you were with your parents you will get carded(even if you are not drinking). I thought prices were normal for beach towns and for crabs. The food: Surf and turg: my brother should have known better than to order it because it was not good. Crab tacos: Fake cheese – LAME Softshell crab sandwiches – YUM – the best thing we had Crab au gratin-decedent and delicious Cobb crab salad – eh Crab melt – real cheese and yum. Great fries, super sweet cole slaw. Fun place to go and GREAT view of the marsh.
