In New Mexico you can purchase wine in grocery stores or just about anywhere. Down the street from Kelly Liquors is an Albertson’s. Kelly’s is about 15% to 20% cheaper than Albertson’s. They have a better selection too. One of my biggest gripes with places that sell wine is they have wines that have been recommended with a rating of 89% or 91% for example. Every single recommended card under the wine is for a wine that is two or more years younger than the wine in display. One wine year might be great, but the next year could be swill. It should be expected that a liquor store would keep up with this. The employees at Kelly’s have always been helpful. Checkout is quick. Overall, if you are in Placitas or Bernalillo, it’s a convenient place to buy your favorite beverage at a reasonable price.
