Couldn’t eat here it smelled like someone died!!! Don’t go here we walked in and walked out quickly before we were about to throw up from the smell.

Classic, simple foods that are delicious. Hearty portions. Chicken pot pie was exactly what I was hoping for on a cold November day. Although I prefer pot pies with a bottom crust too(this one was top only), it tasted like it was prepared in a home kitchen.

Reading the reviews I was anticipating a fine dining experience. The prime rib was recommended. What a disappointment. It was tough, flavorless and overdone. The place has been around for years and usually gets decent reviews. So I was quite disappointed, my wife was happy with the salad bar.

Ok so I went with the grilled reuben because it said that the meat was prepared in house. First impression was that the plate(fries and sandwich) were a tad on the greasy side. Sandwich had little meat no kraut and not enough dressing. Added some slaw to bulk it up a bit. I would expect something a little more special when it appears to be a house specialty. However I must admit dont have a great track record when it comes to ordering… which is why I use Unilocal! PS…just because my profile photo is a Reuben from the Carnegie doesnt mean I’m expecting that. However it is the 5 star reuben.

After traveling all day, I was looking for anything to eat. I’m sorry I stopped here. The booth’s are falling apart, the place is not very clean. The price range is pretty high for sub-par food. I had the Yankee Pot roast special. It was dry and falling apart. Good thing it was drowning in bland gravy to at least give it some moisture. They either managed to make instant potatoes lumpy or make real potatoes taste like boxed.

I wanted to like this place, I really did. But every time I’ve tried, I’ve come away disappointed. First visit was a few years ago and the awful stench coming from the diner didn’t deter us, but we had a mediocre meal at best, which included extra charges for items we didn’t expect. The mass of flies were distracting, to say the least, but we managed through the meal. Then a guest came to visit and wanted to go for breakfast, where we were offered«real maple syrup» and charged $ 1 extra per meal for the syrup without the waitress informing us of the extra charge. Next trip netted two of us a $ 35 tab for two crocks of french onion soup, two small house salads and two fountain drinks. And today I decided to take it on my friends advice and try them out for a club sandwich, and I was ultimately disappointed again. For $ 10 I received a lackluster little sandwich with some? bacon, soggy bread and really saggy fries. I just won’t go back, even though I live nearby and it would be nice to have a go-to place. The poor food quality, and additional charges for just about everything isn’t worth the trouble.

Stopped here while traveling. since it was the highest rated place in the area we had lunch. Doesnt look like much from outside but its pleasant enough and service was pleasant. Great place! Try the fish sandwich, it was tasty!

Décor leaves much to be desired but what is mind boggling is that it is ClLOSED from 10:30 — 11:00am. I pulled in at 10:35 knowing breakfast was over, I expected to be able to order lunch. The sign on the door read«Closed» but people were eating at the counter when I walked in & the door was open. I commented on the sign stating they might want to turn it around but the waitress said«No, we’re closed but you can sit and order coffee & wait until 11a, & I’ll take you or order then» What?!? You’re closed? What restaurant closes for 30 minutes mid-morning? That’s insane! I walked out. There’s no reason for that & being in the service industry for over 45 years, I have NEVER heard of this practice How can they expect to be successful?

Décor — Boo! Food — Yay! Date of Visit: 9÷23÷14 Went to the Four Leaf Clover after hearing rave reviews of their seafood offerings. While I’ll admit I may have walked out if I had been by myself(due to the interior looking very old and dilapidated), I’m glad I stayed. All five of us ordered various versions of their seafood platter, a combination of shrimp, scallops, clams, oysters, and haddock. Overall this was some of the better fried seafood I’ve had; extremely fresh, well seasoned, with a batter that didn’t overpower the product. Add to that a pretty nice beer list with some local offerings. While I wouldn’t get interior design tips from the Four Leaf Clover, it will surely handle your seafood fix!

The first thing our dining party noticed was that it was freezing inside. It was very cold inside the restaurant and the table was still overly wet from being wiped off. We were greeted and seated promptly. The other thing we noticed was the décor. It was very old and well worn. I don’t want to say it was run down but, it was apparent that it has not been updated or even refreshed in perhaps a decade or more. The menu had a good selection with the majority of it being fish, shrimp or clams. There was also a few surf and turf options here as well as steak, chicken and spaghetti. There were also daily specials. I ordered fried clams and the other person in my party got the baked haddock. The fried clams were great but, the french fries not so much. Perhaps I would have done better with a different side like a baked potato or mashed potatoes. The other diner in my party noted that the coleslaw had an overly bitter taste and was not good. They left it untouched. The whole time I was there, I wanted to just eat and leave. Overall, the food was passable and if you’re hungry it would fill that need but, I’d look elsewhere to eat or just eat at home. A better option if you are looking for seafood is Pete’s in Greenfield.

My grandparents like this establishment so we end up going 2 – 3 times a year for special occasions. The food is traditional and tasty. Although I find the wait staff somewhat bristly. During our visit this time they also charge for every single thing. Even the dinner rolls. Not only that, we were charge individually for each one $ 6.00 for rolls! And two of us had full dinner specials. I thought it was a little ridiculous! The food is God but I find the place a tad over rated!

We make the trip down to Kringle candle a few times a year and See Four Leaf always packed, so we stopped by this Sunday for lunch. Food was very fresh and tasty. My hubby raved about the salad bar. Waitress was pleasant. Only one thing I would recomend would be to warm the bread pudding up just a bit before serving. It was ICE cold. When it’s that cold flavor is lost. But other than that we would for sure go back.

The retro 70s décor makes this place have a homey touch. The back dining room — in my opinion — is the nicest. It’s a litte bit grubby in the restaurant(could use a good scrubbing floor to ceiling) but the food is good and the portions just right — the price is very reasonable. Did not have room for dessert but if I cam through again, this is definitely where I would start — the cheesecake, custard, and pies going by looked amazing. Our server was very nice even if she did forget my mother’s dinner roll but she was very busy — who needs the extra carbs anyway.

This was my first visit to the Four Leaf Clover and I’m giving 4 stars rather than 5 simply because the décor is rather dated and it could use a good scrubbing here and there. Anytime a dining room is carpeted in a family restaurant with this much traffic you’re most likely going to have a problem. It’s not a huge place, but it is very friendly! There is counter/diner seating in one room as well as two small dining rooms with booths and tables. Everyone, including the patrons(who all seemed to be regulars) were very happy and friendly. It was a busy night and our waitress/hostess had several stations, yet we were well attended to and our food arrived quickly, fresh and hot. The three adults in my party all had fried seafood(whole clams, clam strips and sea scallops) while one child had chicken fingers and the other a hot dog. There were no complaints on the food. Dessert was great too… Coconut cream pie, chocolate cream puff and ice cream! We all left full and with a friendly goodbye from our server! If you’re looking for fancy this is not your place, but if you’re looking for good home cooking and a friendly atmosphere you should try the Four Leaf Clover Restaurant!

This is a nice local place not far from Rt 91. This a great alternative to stopping in Northampton or Greenfield if you’re heading north to Vermont Back in the day, this restaurant used to be a drive in. It has two main dining areas. We were seated in the back dining area because my wife wanted the salad bar. The décor is older, but it adds to the charm. The staff was very friendly… and not just our waitress. Everyone working there was genuinely friendly. I went with the Reuben sandwich and it was excellent. The menu stated they made their own corned beef, so I had to try it. The meat was very flavorful and moist. You could certainly tell that it was not something they had purchased from a food vendor. The fries were hand cut. They were slightly under-cooked for my liking, but good overall. My wife went with the salad bar which had a ton of choices. All were fresh and tasted very good. They have a good selection of bottled beers and beers on tap along with various wines. Overall, this is a great restaurant just off the highway. If you need place to stop as you head up 91 to go skiing or to visit Vermont, give this place a try.

Pretty good food ordered a chicken sandwich, was pretty good for a chicken sandwich. Fries are supposed to be fresh, idk if they were but the good looking fries tasted good. Never got a refill on my water. But whatever it was busy. The cream puffs however, was the best custard filled thing I’ve ever had. You have to get one!

What a great little spot in Bernardston! We went to Four Leaf a few months ago for the first time and were pleasantly pleased by this little place. The food was amazing and the portions were incredible. The staff was pleasant, and they made sure that we had everything that we needed. Our favorite dishes to date have had to have been the lobster bisque and lobster roll. The bisque was thick and rich, while the lobster roll was flowing with lobster pieces. The only downsides to this restaurant is that it is a bit outdated and cramped, but overall it is an amazing place. We will keep going back.

I might be slightly biased given the fact that my mom worked here in high school, my aunt worked here, and it’s my families go to for solid home cooked meals, but I love it here! I have never had a bad meal and the pies are great! The inside needs a little renovating to possibly liven the place up and give it a new feel, but there’s really nothing bad to say! They have a salad bar that comes with certain meals or as a mean itself which is always a nice touch. The food tastes fresh. My only complaint is that when you leave and go outside it smells of trash at night. There’s nothing worse than smelling trash after a nice hearty dinner. Last night I had the teriyaki chicken dinner with rice pilaf and baked potato. The chicken was great and and the pineapple on top was a great touch! The rice pilaf was fantastic with a little southern dirty feel with green pepper and such! I had a bowl of broccoli cheddar before dinner which I stated was the best I’ve had in years, and a piece of warm apple pie which was delicious. This is a great place, with a great staff, and a reputation for just well prepared food that taste great.
